This looks pretty good, nice work shmails. I like how the torso looks like a redesigned military coat, rather than the skintight jumpsuit seen in Captain America: The First Avenger. Your version is better for the time period in which CA takes place, IMO. My only gripe is that the shield is not round. I'm no expert on the Captain's older character designs, but from what I've seen the round shield is symbolic of CA.

I've walked through several different caves, not sure if that could be counted as "caving". I went to Mammoth Cave a few months ago, and it's pretty amazing that the it could go on for hundreds of miles, and exciting that there's so much more to be discovered.

This was much different than other Lego surveys from past years. It was more focused on the interaction between the company and consumers and less so on the product itself. It also was a lot shorter. I was a little embarrassed after replying "No" several times, and having to answer that I didn't care enough when asked "Why not?".

Captain America: All I can say is, meh. It wasn't horrible, some parts were actually quite good, it's just that I found the plot to be highly unrealistic. The parts I did like were the fact that it took place during WWII (which offered for some cool settings and costume designs), and the fact that Hugo Weaving was in it. Cellular: Worst movie I've seen since The Happening. The acting was laughably bad, and the plot and dialog were just plain stupid. A wasted hour and a half. Book of Eli: This one I actually really enjoyed. The plot and filming style really captured a post-apoc world well, and Denzel Washington was excellent.

I've been following your HP creations for a while, Geertos, but I just never got around to commenting on them. This classroom in particular is very neat, I like all of the colorful bottles lining the walls and the attention to detail. As for your brickfilms, they are wonderful. The animation is smooth, the special effects are cool, and the voice acting is great. Whoever voices Snape in your films does a great impersonation. The attention to detail in these is spectacular, as well. Keep up the good work.

Besides wanting an excuse to use that new emote, I just wanted to say that this is a beautiful creation, Hinck. My favorite part is the colors, and how they all flow together on the patio and walls. I also love the gumball machine and the fountain. Hopefully this means you're back into MOCing?

Yeah, I'll play. 1) What's a mafia game? (But seriously if you need to check my previous mafia games everything is in my profile page). 2) I'm not going anywhere, so I'll be able to post regularly. 3) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijo0bYSU1F8 4) When I accidentally cut part of my thumb off while whittling.

I must say, I really don't like it when players become suspicious because of activity on Eurobricks (logging in as invisible, who's online, etc.). IMO, it's one of the worst ways to metagame (even though metagaming seems to be less of a concern lately...). /rant Looking forward to another Hinckley game, hopefully I'll be able to play in one finally.

Fun game, thanks for letting me in again, Quarry. I'm glad I got to take down a scum with me, even if I was killed the second night. I must admit, I was suspicious of Draggy from Day 1, and probably would have voted for him had I lived to see Day 3. And I was also convinced that iamded was guilty after the split voting pattern was revealed. However, I was suspicious of Ricecracker all along, and my original list of baddies was Ricecracker, Shadows, and Draggy. Rufus definitely had me fooled, though. I personally thought the small amount of players was a nice change of pace, but no night actions made it much harder to pick out scum.

This is one of the best castle MOCs I have ever seen. The brick techniques are just so fascinating. My favorite parts are the round tower and the layered rocks (didn't think that was Lego at first), but overall this is an amazing creation. I'm really looking forward to those in-build shots, to see how the round tower is done. Fantastic work, guys.

Awesome minifigs, thanks for posting, Hinckley. My favorites are Thor and Wolverine, but I wonder if they'll change Wolverine's hair to a new mold. No doubt the old vampire hair is perfect for him, but I can see TLG making a new mold too. The only one I don't like is Hulk. I know the design is in its early stages, but why not just use a minifigure instead of a new action figure type mold? Edit: Looks like they beat you in the main thread.

This is great news, I'm really interested in more pics. Too bad for those who were holding on to their Batman figures, though. I'm sure the BL prices on those will plummet come next year.

Belville Mafia: confirmation/discussion
JimBee replied to Quarryman's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I could almost see that one coming. Whenever I pester the host (e.g. stalking Quarry's profile) for the next Day thread, I end up getting killed. Oh well, at least I was able to take a scum down with me. Thanks for allowing me to play, Quarry. -
I've never seen this film, but those torso decals are lovely! I look forward to seeing more of your movie scene MOCs and custom figures.

Funny, I'm working on an Alien creation right now. Anyways, nice MOC, Luxor. I haven't seen any of the movies yet, but from the pictures I've seen the head shape seems accurate for the queen. The only part I'm not sold on is the leg design. They seem a little flimsy--perhaps more detailed feet (with claws) instead of those robot hands would make it look more sturdy. I like how you even got the extra little arms, a detail that should not be missed.

I live in a suburb of Milwaukee, WI. There are three or four regular Targets close by, and they've always had good selections before. I don't remember the Lego stock ever being this small, but like you said, maybe they're preparing for autumn, for new sets and holidays. I wouldn't consider where I live a small town (the area has 1.7 million people), but I guess it just differs by location. It seems that we're getting a bit off-topic with this, though.
-
My local Target(s) used to take up a full, but has since diminished to half of a shelf. Maybe it's just a clear-out of the older sets before they stock the new ones, but I've never seen their inventory so small. Like you said though, it may just be this one Target. Lucky you, you'd be fortunate to find more than a few Duplo sets at the Wal-marts in my area. Again, this used to be Target where I live. They had almost as much as TRU (not to mention much lower prices), but this year just doesn't seem to be a good one for Lego at the local Targets.

Thanks for your help guys. P4trickvH, your method seems to work the best, and it is quite useful. It's too bad you can't sort the results by price, but I can just do as you said and compare prices manually. Thanks again, it's great to have a community where everyone is so quick to help.

Hey there fellow EBers, I wasn't sure which forum to put this in, but I have a question regarding buying items on Bricklink. My question is, is it possible to search for stores that have everything you're looking for? When I'm looking for items, I want to buy everything I need at the same store to keep shipping costs down, instead of buying from different stores at the same time. What I'm asking is, is there a search function or another way to find a store that has all or most of the parts I need? I tried looking this up on BL as well, but I couldn't rephrase my question into search query that gave results. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Is Target not selling Lego anymore at all? I saw some discounts (no higher than 10% off) last time I went, but what I noticed is that the Lego selection at Target is getting smaller and smaller each time. Now all they have left is a few small sets from each theme, nothing more than 50 USD. If they're clearing out all Lego products, then TRU and the Lego stores will be the only places to get Lego sets without using the Internet in the USA. Is that assumption correct?

Thanks for sharing this, Zarkan. I'm in the same boat as you--I've run out of room, and I need my money for other things. I didn't realize how bad those prices were back then, but keep in mind that this is right around when TLG almost failed.

Meh. The ship itself is overall boring, and there's not much to separate the Pearl from other Lego ships. It doesn't even look like the movie version, you might as well have taken the generic Lego ship design, colored it black, and called it the Black Pearl. However, the minifigs are excellent, as usual with PotC sets. Davy Jones is definitely the highlight of this set, and I'll get him off of BL as soon as this set is released.

Well, that was an interesting game, i enjoyed following along. Although, I can say that I never would've figured it out, I just don't have the mental capacity for mysteries of any kind. Thanks for another great game, def, and kudos to the ones who played well. At least you guys did the best with what you had, and I thought that using extra witness cards was particularly clever. Although, in retrospect, it all turned out to be just paranoia. One more thing that I really liked was the card designs. They were just cool to look at, especially at the part where the two figures join and an interesting effect is created. I still can't figure out what the witness card minifig is holding, though.

General Discussion and Announcements

That's terrible, Stash. Hopefully your collection isn't completely destroyed (would flood water damage the pieces?). Here's for better luck next year.
