  1. "Deep underground, I think", Hybros answers. "I'm not entirely sure of my past, but I was hoping to discover more about myself by joining Heroica. Hopefully these quests will hold answers for me, and allow me to experience new things". Changing the subject, Hybros inquires, "Sitting here, I've heard about an Orcish Invasion. Do you know of it? I'm afraid the time of those events preludes my time on the surface. Surely, you've heard more than I about the subject during your time here?".
  2. Hyrbros sat at the bar, waiting in silence for a quest to start. To pass the time, he pulled out a small, hollow stick, presumably a type of flute, from his robe, and began to play a mysterious, enchanting tune. It was quiet enough so that no one farther than ten feet away could tell where the music was coming from, but loud enough so that it could be heard during pauses between the room's chatter. The sounds coming from the instrument reminded Hybros of his past, his home. He remembered that it was deep beneath the Earth's surface, where it was dark, damp, and besides his own kind, devoid of life. The soil was too unhealthy and rocky for plants to grow, and it was too cold for animals and other creatures to live in. Oh, but the underground cities were magnificent; the stone architecture would've have been heavenly if it could be seen by a surface-dweller's eyes. Thousands upon thousands of creatures similar to Hybros lived here, and it was only on the rarest of occasions that one was seen above ground. Hybros came back to reality with a start. Tomas, the Cleric, was shaking the imp by his shoulder, saying something about buying drinks. "Oh, no thank you", said Hybros in a hoarse voice, not caring for the in-acquired taste of surface beverages. Taking interest in the human, however, the imp engaged in conversation, speaking for the first time since he arrived. "Where do you come from? Do you have family?", he asked.
  3. Just to throw this out there, when this game was first introduced here, the classes/jobs and weapons really reminded me of those in Realm of the Mad God, a silly retro RPG-like adventure game. I imagine the advanced classes will be something like those in this game (of course, you have to unlock them first to know what they are). Or just look here.
  4. This is probably due to your post count. Less signature space is granted to those with fewer posts, I'm guessing.
  5. As the Hall was bursting with chatter and activity from all of the new so-called heroes, the front door opened and closed yet again. Anyone who had bothered to look at the new arrival would've seen nothing but the heads of those already in the crowd. A little imp, about half the size of a human, pushes his way through the crowd swiftly. Those pushed aside look down at their knees were they feel the imp brush past, only to realize that he is already far ahead of them. The mysterious little creature, donned in a simple tunic, pointed hat, and a ragged cloak, makes its way towards the quest board. It carried an ominous-looking scythe over its shoulder. After studying the list carefully, the imp writes its only name, Hybros, under Quest #2: Looking Through the Wares. And though he would highly prefer to do Quest 2, Hybros also signed his name under Quest #3: The Missing Matriarch. After making his way to the saloon, Hybros takes a seat next to Defficio, noting his height. He doesn't bother to order a drink, and instead pulls out a small flask and drinks from it. Not having said a word to any of his companions, Hybros sips his flask quietly, thinking of his past. He didn't actually know much, other than the fact that he came from a land far away, where the sun didn't shine and the plants didn't grow. He remembered that his first years of life were spent in darkness, and couldn't remember when or why he ended up on the surface world. He's been living off of what he can steal and scavenge ever since. He doesn't know his own age, though he estimates that it's been around 50 years since his arrival on the surface world. Hybros, Level 1 Rogue 50 years old male imp Power: 4 Health: 7/7 Gold: 10 Inventory: Reaper Scythe (WP:3), Potion, Venom
  6. Just one more question: when do we get to use tools? For example, when and how would I use a shovel? Edit: Oh, and another : How will turns be played out between all of the quest players? This could be especially problematic when the players are in different timezones and it takes up to 24 hours for player to respond.
  7. That's too bad about Benji and Eugene, now we're two steps back from where we started. I do agree with the notion that Eugene was killed by a vigilante, why would a scum killer go after (all due respect) someone like Eugene? And since Petr is the only one we know that has been blocked, he's kind of setting off alarms for me at the moment. Other than that, has anyone learned anything from the night? Come on, don't be shy now.
  8. Thanks for the quick reply, Sandy. I just have one more question: when/how do you encounter shops? During a quest, or whenever you want to buy something?
  9. Wow, this looks amazing! It's very clear that a lot of time was put into this by Sandy and the Wargames forum staff. I just have some questions before I create my character. - If an enemy falls into more than one type, how are conflicting or aiding elements determined? For example, an enemy is both flying and mechanic, and is attacked by a wind element (sapphire). How is damage determined then? - For Clerics and Mages, is the option to heal/cast decided before the dice roll or after it? Also, if shield is not rolled, then ether is depleted if they choose to heal/cast, even if the heal/spell fails, correct? - Consumable items can be used on anyone in battle, right? - Do bombs affect their own elements? For example, would a lightning bomb affect a lightning creature? - If one chose to be a knight, would they be able to choose both a shield and a sword? - And, most importantly, what is the adventure aspect of the game? If this is coming in due time I apologize. Looking forward to playing this.
  10. Hilarious conclusion, Hinck. Loved the werewolf reference.
  11. Happy birthday, Pandora! Hope you have a fantastic day. Rufus, you had to spend quite some time hand-crafting that cake for her. Is that why you're not in the latest mafia?
  12. Nice scene, Zorro was great and interesting choice for a theme, I wouldn't have thought of that. Love the use of the palm tree parts on the side of the building, by the way.
  13. I've worn that face the entire day, and I don't think it will change before the day ends. At this point we can't be even close to sure about anything, and doing the best with what we have seems like the best choice. With what Donil and others have said, and in the interest of not being a member of the so-called "punishable" group, I Vote: Benji (Big Cam) I don't seem to recall God ever saying anything about a penalty vote, and it may be just a rumor.
  14. Welcome to the forums, K-nut. I'm also from Wisconsin, a suburb of Milwaukee, to be exact. I, too, have to go down to Illinois to get to a Lego store. Enjoy yourself here.
  15. Resizing, what's that? Flickr does it automatically, giving you five or six sizes in all, including 800x600 and the 100x100 thumbnail sizes.
  16. I agree with what others have said, a lot of chitchat is going on, but little substance is actually being provided. I, for one, am not prepared to vote for any of the suggested lynchees so far, so I will refrain from voting for now unless something comes up that could possibly give us answers. There's no use in voting for someone who has good chance of being town if we don't make progress on who might be scum. This is probably the most sensible thing said all day. Anyway, I'm a little suspicious towards Denis. He's been talking about zephyrs, forests, and other random things that I have no comprehension of, and seems a little crazy to be completely honest. Even if he is town, I wouldn't want a loon like that to be around my dear Catya. Someone once said, "A useless or confusing townie is just as dangerous as any scum", and I'm applying that logic here. By no means am I suggesting a vote (I actually would prefer if no lynch were made if we can't reach a solid conclusion), but I am suggesting that Denis cools it with the lunatic talk.
  17. Yay! Congrats Rufus, it is well-earned! It's harder than you think. Four games can take six to eight months to complete, and then you have to survive for more than a few days to prove yourself.
  18. Wow, those are awesome, Timms! I would definitely get the Wolfpack one.
  19. A werewolf in lamb's clothing?
  20. Pffft. Toaster salesmen. Can't trust those either. Or the godfather's wing-man.
  21. Grr. We're getting nowhere so far. Though, I can't say I'm helping much, but I've got nothing else to add. Petr, why don't you share with us who you think is most suspicious? You clearly have someone in mind.
  22. All I can do is mimic what everyone else has said, so far. We can only hope that one of the scummy mafia members slip up today. Other than that, we have a few, limited options. - Vote someone off randomly, and hope it leads to answers. - Or, do nothing, don't vote, and hope for the best. All I know is that I have by beloved Catya here with me.
  23. Little did the wee players know that Hinckley crashed the server himself in order to buy some time!
  24. *stumbles over drunk* Whuh? By the way, I always seem to be stuck with in a relationship with you whenever we're in a game together.
  25. Yan is here. Now, where is bottle vodka?
