Wow! This is gorgeous! Way to go! The details are first class, and your English tells the story quite well. Your choice of words is hilarious! The story is cute and uplifting. It takes a village to raise a child, and this sounds like a wonderful village. Wish I were a child there! The details of the build itself and how you did it were helpful. Keep up the lovely work.

Wow! Way to go! Those are some serious LEGO book collections. What wonderful sources of LEGO info. I have quite a few of those books as well. Have really enjoyed Tom Alphin's new "The Lego Architect" because it has some detailed explanations about architectural styles demonstrated with different micro builds. Architecture is fascinating anyway; adding LEGO to the mix makes it even more interesting. A big thanks to all the publishers who have moved into LEGO books in a big way.

Sounds like fun! Where are you moving to in Alaska? And when? Where to you live now? I lived in Fairbanks and Anchorage for almost 12 years, but was not into LEGO at the time. With the long dark winters, LEGO should be a huge hit, and Alaskans are always looking for a reason to socialize in the winter. The tips above should get you started and help you make lots of friends...quickly! There is a BL dealer or two in Alaska as I have bought from there before. Search for Alaska dealers at bricklink.com. If you move is paid for, buy a lot of LEGO while still in the Lower 48 if you have access to big box stores and their sales. Target has two stores in Anchorage and one in Wasilla (not that far from Anchorage). Fred Meyer is in Fairbanks and Palmer as well as Anchorage. Those are your best bets for LEGO in local stores. Again let your employer pay to move as much LEGO as you can afford and can store because sales are easier to find in the Lower 48. Starting an Alaska LUG sounds like a wonderful plan! Good luck and do ask for help as the folks on here and brickset.com will be glad to provide more details.

Wow! Some nice choices listed so far! Morricone does nail it in the movie score department. What a pro! I have collected film scores all my life and have too many favorite songs to list. (And now I am in the process of selling off all 1400 CD's because I just listen to them off my computer. Holler if you are interested as they are about to go out the door.) One of my all time favorites is "Both Sides Now" by Joni Mitchell. (It is used in several film scores as well.) Dolly Parton did a cool "You Can't Make Old Friends" with Kenny Rogers, and it is also a big favorite.

Hahaha! A sincere thanks to the mods for all the spam and spammers they zap. Is this a crazy world, or what?

Holy Crap! What a delightful work of art! Just in time for Halloween, too. Way to go!

Wow! I would hate to have to change a flat tire on this beast!

Ditto! This is first class in design and real life bricks! The machines are perfect, and the tile floors look wonderful. Way to go!

Simply perfect for the beach in Malibu! Figs will be lining up by the thousands for a week long vacation at this resort home. Way to go!

Wow! This is a very cool music store! The kind we all used to shop in when we had a few spare bills. Love the interior with its many instruments and details. Lovely tile floor. Lots of cool things hanging on the walls. A wonderful build so far!

Wow! Very nice set up! Looks like too much fun! -
Wow! What an entertaining eight pages! Glad to hear that so many adults "play" with Duplo! Our children and grandchildren don't know just how lucky they are to have access to such fine toys. And we get to enjoy our toys with them. My son only had system trains, and really enjoyed them ages 4 to 8. I have purchased a used Duplo train that I hope to share with our granddaughter aged one when she quits eating Duplo. My biggest worry is that there are so many different types of Duplo trains and track that what we build will not work. And the circle continues... It is fascinating to read how much theory explains how and why certain Duplo track layouts work. Now if I can get Hubby (physics engineering and can figure out anything given enough time...phew!) to focus on building Duplo instead of his N scale, maybe we can duplicate at least one of these layouts before all of the required pieces are chewed up by little boys and girls everywhere. It appears to be a race against time with the rate at which they are gnawing up the parts. Anybody care to write and videotape that algorithm? Cheers!

LOVELY! Thanks for the photos! Design and colors look wonderful. Landscaping is also well put together. Must have eaten up a zillion or so LEGO. Will you be able to display it at any LEGO events or is it too fragile to move? (You must not have little ones in the house by the looks of this!!!)

Hinck, It looks just like the wintry spring we are having on the US East Coast. Bet you are still frozen in Chicago, too. Please ignore all the whiney comments above...we all love you! I love the colors, too! WE just brought home some colorful, blooming flowers in pots, but have them inside the breakfast room for protection from the nighttime frost, which may never leave us this year. I hope that Mr. Squirrel/whatever has a very thick coat left from winter. Although normally I am thinking how to vaporize them when I see them digging up our small plot of grass out front ...like I did this morning. I honked the horn extra loud when driving by hoping to train the squirrels to dig up the neighbors' yards and leave ours alone. So is is probably best not to get me started on squirrels, which seem to like eating almost everything the rabbits and deer don't eat in our yard. (We have found that very sharp agave tend to survive animal attacks!) Keep up the great headline banner work! -
Wowser! You nailed the shape with such awesome curves! The lifeboat and deck chairs are so easy on the eyes. Perfect for navigating the circling the islands and dinner along the canals of Venice and docking at St. Peter's for an espresso. Ladies, now pull out your Grace Kelly outfit, tie your matching headscarf, unpack those sunglasses, and climb aboard! (I know she was famous in the 50's and later, but she would have looked dynamite in your boat.)

L@go and Kristel, You are going to have a blast in Chicago! So glad you are coming over this year! Way to go, now get hopping on those MOC's!

Could we please get more feedback from others who have built this set (besides WhiteFang and me)??? Thanks!

Ooooh! UniKitty has such cool digs with all the pastels and her friends nearby. Your tree is astounding, and the colors and design of are so uplifting. It brings a huge smile to my face on a cold rainy day. Thanks!

Beautifully done! And I am not a fan of red buildings, but you pulled this one off quite well. And yes, the reindeer do need some fancy digs. Congratulations on winning second place!

Wow! Way to go, Emma! The exterior is luscious with welcoming colors. And the interior is filled with superb details. It flows very well, and your placement of figs resonates with the spirit of the season. Could LEGO make this their WV set for 2015? I would buy it!

While this set is not up to the size of the Snake set as mentioned above, it is much cheaper to buy and a lot of fun to build. Thanks so much for the great review....as usual. I think it is wonderful that you reviewed this special little set because most folks on EB would not know about it otherwise. It is fantastic that LEGO is recognizing the importance of the Chinese Lunar Holiday because that holiday is so important to the Chinese all over the world. LEGO needs to produce all twelve Chinese zodiac signs in special sets. I am sad that they just missed the Year of the Horse. Is someone asleep in Billund? (Hint, hint....I am a rabbit!) I just built the sheep, and it is a lovely small build. I would enjoy this set as a Caucasian person even if I didn't have a Chinese DIL. Let's not knock the customs central to other cultures. We always celebrate the Chinese New Year with Chinese dumpling making in our kitchen and special decorations at a lively feast. And the decorations are a lot of fun to hang and view. This sheep will fit in perfectly!
