  1. Cab is fine, just one question, why are you building from the outside in? Surely it would be better to build the internals first, so you know you can fit everything in. Not saying it's wrong, not doubting it, just wonder why you've chosen this way.
  2. Fair be it, and pictures at the moment? Are you just modding it for RC, or rebuilding the whole model completely to fit everything in easier?
  3. Surely you have more Lego than that? Oh, and hows the Flatbed tow truck coming along? You've been busy with the 9397 crane, so i suspect little, I may be wrong.
  4. The forklift is nice, just one thing, is there a way of making the height of it smaller while transporting as this would be pretty useless as it couldn't go anywhere outside of the yard. Also, does the trailer have dropsides? By the looks of things, it would be impossible to load it onto the trailer if the sides don't drop. Don't get me wrong, it's a brilliant improvement, but I think it just needs a few improvements to make it A*, just a few. Robert.
  5. I think you're right, it may be above the orage vertical piece as you can possibly see on the image from the rear of the vehicle ( top right image of the box, there seems to be a white blob of some sort )
  6. If you're unsure about where the white panels are, look again, I missed them the first time, after going back to look at mudguards, they jumped put. The fronf of the truck is white, but I can't see the 5x11 panel. Robert.
  7. I find that topics like this are awesome. It makes me super keen to get the set, to build it for myself. Sure, I know what it's like, but that's the excitement and waiting for it makes it hard, and I know I need to buy it.
  8. That sound a pretty good truck, I really look forward to seeing it, even just a chassis would be nice.
  9. Oh, something similar to the concept you made in post #104? I think that will work nicely, and it's an awesome invention, if it's classes as one.
  10. Have you got an idea of how to lower the chassis when the ramp is going down?
  11. Would that be the front grille?
  12. So did you manage to find the Logging Truck, or did you spend the money on the plane? One last things, hows the massive 8109 coming along, I know you've been busing building the crane.
  13. What would be the real diffence between that picture above, and the 8109? Is it that the 8109 just tips, and the the realt truck tips and slides. Can't tell as I don't have the 8109. If it would be possible for you to make tip and slide, then do that. More realistic the better, and of course, it would change the angle of loading making it easier. Robert.
  14. Would there be some mega construction under that bed? For it to hold 5k of unimog it would need to be quite strong. Have you thought about this when it's in the air? Once again, it's coming on nicely, albeit, slowly, but that is how the best MOCs come along. Robert.
  15. Maybe you could try building it out of Yellow or Orange, although I suspect Organge won't have some of the parts. Looking on the internet, it seems to be mostly this colour. Just a though, you could use them bendy beams used 8070 or similar, not sure what people call them, but the things that make the wheels arches.
  16. Thats a really good though Effe, and like how it works. Will it be possible to make it smaller to fit into the scale? Or is it already the size it needs to be? Must be pretty huge if you plan to have the Unimog on the bed. Looking good anyway, must be the first thread I look at when logging in.
  17. Hi guys, From what we know about this top secret set, does anyone know roughly how many peices this set would come with? It looks to be a similar size to 8285 and 8258 but then again, it could have different wheels, but I highly doubt that. Are the dimensions of the model known yet at all, would be good so I can start to build more shelves since I've ran out of room since getting the 8110 Unimog. Cheers in advance, Robert M
  18. It's not always best to go for the cheapest option there. You might have to take into account shipping prices. Some might charge £5 for a £41 set. Others might charge £3 for a £42 set. Always look around first, it will save you something in the long run.
  19. £150, that is so high priced considering you can get them from Bricklink for £40-£50. Here's the link http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?itemID=92700 Robert.
  20. 1) There have been some amazing MOC's this year, with all the talent floating around, I can't wait to see what 2012 brings to the table. 2) I think 2011 saw one of the best Technic models ever made - The Unimog. But then the other models were also to a high standard. Especially the Backhoe and the Flatbed Truck. 3) I completely flawed on building the Unimog, I put the front differential on the wrong way, and spent 30 mins solving it. Then I tried something I thought would work to solve the steering on the Unimog, and the front fell apart, and must of spend en evening rebuilding. On the whole, it worked out quite well. 4) Build a moving sheep, it could walk and move it's mouth to eat grass. Didn't take an picture though because it wasn't worthy. 5) Disappointing, but looking forward to the Logging Truck. Robert.
  21. I got the last Unimog U400 in the UK. Had it built in 7 hours, and now planning to find another for parts, to build accessories. Already changed it, took thinggs away, added more things, and it still looks the same as original.
  22. I highly doubt that it would be propellers that are motorised because of the Health and Safety rules that would probably prevent such a thing happening. JUst my view on this, could well be the propellers though.
