I'm glad someone had the courage to come out and say this. It's a pretty hard task scrolling down to see the same picture 4 times over.

Effe's MOC Corner
Robert M replied to efferman's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
So even the best of Builders have a backlist of unfinished projects. Does that mean i'll never finish a Moc, maybe so. I hope not, as I have something in my head. -
I don't think that Technic actually has to work. It's all good making a ship with a single hull, that floats. But then it's a bit pointless, as if we wanted a functional ship, we'd go to a specialist shop, and not buy the lego. On the other hand, it Lego made a ship, with holes in, I wouldn't see a problem. Half of the time, maybe more, all the sets do are sit on shelves. I do think lego will go back to releasing Technic ships, but not right now, as they seem to be very keen on using wheels.

8109 flatbed truck

The height of the body looks to low down. It could do with being a bit higher, for more ground clearance. -
New project

The back end of the chassis is to high. I think that is what making it look out of proportion. If you lower it down, it would be better. But at the moment, it's already a good little U20. -

I see the problem. What has happened that the bendy axle isn't pushed in all the way on the left picture and on the right, it's all the way in. As it is longer on the left, this will make the curve less circular. Hope this helps. -
I suppose it works then, my bad. That idea of yours, for it to be able to extend and contract is good.

I think I see a fatal error. Once the trailer isn't in use, and the Unimog is driving, with the linkage between it, when going round a corner, and over a crest, wouldn't there be strain on the shafts? I know there are the joint there, but I don't think they could handle it, unless of course you've already tried it, in which case, ignore me. Robert.

Are you using the cab you made earlier? ; -
If you have a look at the first few pages of this thread, you will see a couple of examples.

Suppose there nothing wrong with big gaps, but it just doesn't look the same, maybe a bit empty. -

I actually think it's an ok distance away, as the Grapple ( forgotten real name ) will go there when the crane folds back on itself. Or at least I prosume it will. -

That is a really effective way of getting the gears to change. I wouldn't of though about that. -

This might be a silly question, but are you still working on 9397. I ask because the colour scheme to me doesn't say this. -
8110 Wheel Problem
Robert M replied to sama's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Not nesessarily a molding problem, but maybe a finishing problem were the excess swarf hasn't been cut off. This part could have just missed this section on the production line. -

Well, be sure to pest when you've found a solution. -

What stage are you at with the Truck, it's been all talk recently, and no photos, so I don't know how relevant what I'm talking about would be. -

Oh, that makes it ok then. I reckon that would be very useful. What motor will power it? XL, L or M? I imagine that an XL, as it could come under strain if more than one function is used at once? Any plans to motorise the Claw? -

That would make something really good, and an RC with one motor. But I have an issue, obviously, with the goal being to make it RC, this wouldn't make it RC as we'd still have to use our hands to select which way the direction it is turning. That obviously takes it out being RC, so is there need for it to be RC. Unless it's just driving and steering you aim to be RC. Just a thought. -

My mind read so fast, I read '' oration '' as ''orientation ''. Oh well, I didn't realise. -

That would be a good idea. There would be plenty of room under the load bed at the back, so perhaps could fit them in there? -

Doh, I'm sorry that I can't be more of a help for new ideas. I don't have many parts, so haven't much technical work that I can figure out.
