  1. Hi guys, thanks for all the interest! I've been busy, but once in a while I spend a few hours on the LDD. I am fixing some proportions, which will result in a slightly bigger ship. The entire front will be a bit larger AND more detailed. Right now I am working on the "fin" section. This has proven to be a bit of a nightmare, because each compartment is like it own separate model. The ones I already have designed is just 10% too small so i have to scale them all - while still maintaining the look and providing more detail. When the LDD is eventually done I will have to build the real model again - this means also buying new bricks, just to make sure that it can in fact be built :)
  2. This is looking very very good! I like the idea of using standard parts. Mine uses almost 500 different parts and is was crazy expensive. I am working on modifying mine atm moment :) Keep it up!
  3. Flickr has messed up my login since they changed their password policy, byt here is the most recent pic of the mod - I have changed the proportions of the turret base, made the cockpit tube 2 studs longer and rebuilt the antenna supports. There is also details underneath :)
  4. Superb model - although it is too big to big minifig scale - at least if you take minifig's height into account :) According to starwars.com the Falcon is 34.75 m long - at 110 cm this model would make a minifig look around 130 cm tall :) Perhaps if you use it to the width of a minifig to calculate scale it might fit, but when considering height the UCS falcon is perfectly scaled :)
  5. I have actually modded the falcon a bit more since these pics were taken :)
  6. Nice build Lobot :) Looks more solid than mine :) I will post the LDD here where I have tweaked it :)
  7. Thanks for making this - jut watched this form beginning to end - while at work...
  8. Excellent - I really like your R2 as well :) I would buy the BB-8 in an instant if it was a set :)
  9. The UCS TIE on May the Fourth - I got the Admiral Yularen mining - now I can place him in my 10188! :D
  10. You are welcome to look by :) I am thinking of tweaking the ldd this summer, after that I will post it here :) Thanks for all the nice comments :)
  11. By far the best official UCS TIE so far (Interceptor, Advanced) :) Regarding proportions: everything would fit nicely if the wings were a few studs shorter. However in order to get the right angle of the wings, the 2x4 wedge is used. Should the model be shorter you would need to remove a 2x4 wedge at the top and the bottom and then the wings would be way too short. The alternatives would be. 1. To build the ship wider and deeper and make a larger ball - making the ship too big in relation to what is normal for a UCS fighter (to be honest, I was expecting 800-1100 bricks for this - but I am not complaining :D) 2. To shorten then wings - 8 studs - and compensate by making everything smaller. 3. To make a hack to make the wings only a few studs shorter - which I don't think is a valid solution for an TLG build. Bottom line - I understand the designer's choices. However, I will of course try the hack the wings to get more correct proportions :)
  12. Slave 1 UCS - was a gift - Best UCS in years! :)
  13. I have already modded mine - its is a great set, now little greater :)
  14. It is not much cheaper in Denmark :)
  15. Nice progress ape! Do you plan to keep it all lbg? Keep it up!
  16. The is an excellent model, and the best UCS Slave I, I have seen: The size is just great, big eough to be considered minifig size - will look great next to the Falcon :) It is sturdy enough to be swooshable :) New cockpit element :) Overall proportions :) The price, while not cheap, it is cheap for a UCS with this brick count :) The EXACT minifigs this set should have :) Will I tweak it? Of course I will :) But overall this looks to be one of the best official UCS sets since the Falcon :)
  17. I simply have to back this Fox :) $30CAD is sent your way! GOOD LUCK!!
  18. At first I thought this was a tweaked 10179, but then all the details began to sink in. This is crazy! Oh, and I envy your brick collection ;)
  19. A very inspiring project, I really admire your energy :) Is the landing gear and cockpit to scale? Will you fit a technic skeleton in between the inner and outer wall? I'm a huge fan of the inner/outer hull thing :) If you keep this up it could become the next huge ldd thing - like the recent SSD. Just to remind others here, that SSD also lacked much of its internal structure when first posted, but it was still bat s#!t crazy :D
  20. I'm very, very pleased with this design. The new windscreen mold makes this model possible. Previous USC scale mocs have needed the larger windscreen to fully realize this model. The angles and proportions I can see are well executed, and It looks to be USC model that will be hard to improve upon - as I usually do with UCSs :) I'll wait with the final judgement, until I see the backside/engine section of the model. It is an area where official models from time to time sacrifice detail. Looking at the canon detail, missile launcher, entrance hatch, windscreen, and general shapes, the engines will have the be expertly shaped and detailed to live up to that. My fear is that since the backside has not been 'leaked' yet, it could be lacking #ConspiracyTheory :P Edit: It looks to be about 8 studs longer than Cavegod's. An excellent size - again only feasible thanks to the new windscreen :)
  21. Hi Apemax, nice project :) I see you have chosen a traditional voxel-based building technique, which gives your model a cool retro quality. If you have any questions regarding proportions or detailing feel free to ask :) Best Morten
  22. I have begun building this set, but I'm now waiting for the tiles and wedges I have ordered to properly mod It. I believe the model has a good size, proportions and greble for a UCS. My issues with the model is that it needs a smoother surface, the colouring is off in some parts and the main window looks cheap. The side hatches are also too big in order to support a play feature, but I will fix that while keeping the feature intact. An interesting observation is that lego has never produced a 3 x 6 wedge plate in Reddish brown. Thus the front of the model sports dark tan wedges - which was probably the colour closets to reddish brown. This needs to be fixed as well. I would have finished the model by now, but this girl has promised helping me finish it, so now I have to be as slow as possible in order to get a maximum of dates with her… One brick at a time, no rush!
  23. Thanks for the nice comments guys :) I have actually added a bit more detail to the front of the ship and changed a few discreet things since these pics were taken. If I get my hands on a camera I can post pics of the tweaks here :) Right now I'm building the new Sandcrawler - which I'll mod a bit in an attempt to address some of the play-set looking parts of the set :)
  24. Brilliant - now make it collapse into the tantive - sorry :P
