I really hope they don't do another UCS X-wing just yet. It would be the first new UCS I wouldn't be looking forward to. Lets have some ships and vehicles that haven't gotten the UCS treatment yet instead - there is at least 10 big ones yet to be done. After that they can make a "phase 2". It is not like the current UCS X-wing is perfect, there is just so much more to be done with the line before doing redesigns.

Excellent MOC! - of course I have been a fan of it for a looong time Your MOC together with OceanBlue's UCS Falcon mod was the inspiration of my own USC mod. I have added a LOT of detail inspired by your model, I posted a preliminary report a while back, but I guess I have to show off the whole thing now so I can hear your comments Regarding you size comparison pic - could you take one from the top - your model looks almost twice as big as the official one with this angle, but according to your measurements there are a couple of inches between them
-
Another interesting MOC from Bob! I am a big fan of your descriptions - they make the design come more alive While the moc is cool looking, I'd suggest making the panels more angular. Right now the are a bit too rounded and not very TIE like. Keep it up Cheers Morten

[MOC] Yet another Super Star Destroyer Executor...

QUICK TIP: Dont build it with only ONE engine! The power relays and alluvial dampers will overload FOR SURE!! -

Well, you could buy bricks for both solutions - or at least enough for a test of each. Personally I always buy bricks for several alternative solutions in these cases. For example have I just used about 12 euros for 10 alternate solutions of a mod of a single detail of the upcoming 10227 B-wing. I'm insane -

About the prices, they are always fluctuating, but you can compare across all shops if you just search for the item number in the main search area. Regarding mixing Old grey with bley - it WILL stand out and be noticeable. You are using the wheels for engines right? They will have a yellowish/brownish sheen to them compared to the rest of the model. Perhaps it will look cool, but it could possibly throw off the sense of scale you want to achieve. -
there is a little tap missing on the top rim :)

This is the best one yet! Cant believe TLG hasn't made this yet Please make the tweaks you mention and send me the file and I'll build this for you!

Another day saved by Bob! Great background story and interesting design - looks a tiny bit like at TIE fighter now
-
keep them coming! I'm beginning to look forward to these each day I really like the humour of them
-
Bob, you have some really cool designs. You should gather them in a portfolio, with descriptions of features and inspiration sources. Send it all to Lego and ask if they are hiring - assuming you are tired of your current occupation

This is bonkers! I have all my UCS sets and a few others (like the 10188) displayed in an orderly fashion and they take up an entire room... This would take up a huge 300m^2 house... So that's 25.000 quid for the Legos and another 700.000for the house (calculating... please wait...) OMG! I need just 19billion! (including guard dogs, lasers and a moat)

the pics are gone :) I think that it may be too long using a 2x3 curved slope and a 2x2 tile, but I could be wrong?
-
Yeah - actually I mentioned the alternate bracket design on the sticker in an earlier post A single 2x2 dbg slope might almost do the job. The challenge is that the bracket should cover a bit of the round cockpit... In any case I think the curved brick is a bit too long. Perhaps I'll end up using something with a hinge
-
Any chance you have already made these fixes and have pics to share? @DFOL, if cave is too lazy I'll post the mod as soon as I get my grubs on the model this October
-
Well, the dark bley bracket below the cockpit is about twice as big on the Lego version compared to the studio model, so that will be made smaller. Then there is the back-end of the cockpit section which keeps falling off perhaps that should be addressed as well :) These should be quick mods

Darth Vader/TIE Advanced Transformer (Micro-Mood Scale)
mortesv replied to M<0><0<DSWIM's topic in LEGO Star Wars
This is a brilliant idea (and execution too ) You should make a series of these and CUUSOO them -
Looking at Cavegod's new pictures of the B-wing, I must say it looks to be the best B-wing yet. The windscreen of the cockpit will always be a bit irksome because of the "double-hull" feel it gives the cockpit, but looking at the studio model I think it would be very difficult to achieve the same curves using a brick-built solution. All in all I think the aesthetics of the model is worth the design score given by cavegod. What will hold many people of an initial purchase is the price. In any case, I'm in love and will get this day one - I have planned a few mods though, because as beautiful as the 10227 is, there is still a little room for improvement

[MOC] Yet another Super Star Destroyer Executor...
mortesv replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in LEGO Star Wars
That is a tough choice - all three (4 with Skayen's) mocs/mod represent their own unique interpretation of the Executor. Regarding my mod, I had a lot of fun rebuilding my 10221, but I also have a lot of patience and perhaps I used too much time on the project Even now I still find some obscure detail to tweak from time to time. That said, should you decide to mod the 10221 you could probably do it in the 10th of the time it took me because you would have a much better idea of what to do. You would still need some parts that is not in the 10221 so there is no getting around Bricklink Whatever you chose I hope you post your progress here - and I would be more than happy to assist you in any way I can Cheers Morten -

It begins indeed! -
Wouldt it help If you reconstructed the hull plates with the hypotenuse at the center seem? I don't Think there are much gained doing it the other way round - except maybe messing up the angle of the City?

mortesv replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I see. If you look closely at the film model you can see that the city actually begins to "grow" on top of the hull near the tail - it is just a little bit, but you could use it as an excuse to expand the city a few studs on top of the hull -

Omg! If Prince ever had an SSD, this would be it! Is it me, or should the city be extended a few studs more backwards, or perhaps that messes with the entire structure?
