Heroica RPG - Quest #17: The Lion's Share
Flipz replied to Brickdoctor's topic in The Heroica Archive
Arthur silently marvels at the fact that none of the rest were discussing whether or not to ask for additional Gold because they had successfully protected the lives of every single Lion Knight. Perhaps they were more heroic than he had thought...though, oddly, he found he had to force himself to resist that urge... -
What about the Arena? Those armors make the wearer immune to enemy Mages in the Arena that attempt to use those elements, right? Also, I don't remember if we went over this, but does Darkness do double damage to Heroes in the Arena or not? I'm pretty sure it has on Quests, but...

Mafia School: A Bedtime Story - Day Two
Flipz replied to Sandy's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
*sniff sniffle* I think I just felt Mr. Bear's spirit watching over us! Let's make him proud, everyone! Puss, those are great analyses of various possibilities, but in fairness, we should prepare ourselves in case Mara Jade truly is the Town blocker and is not lying to us. I don't think this is the case, but after losing Pinocchio I do not want to make any decisions about lynching lightly. So, let's take a look at some of the possibilities if we believe Mara Jade: 1. Doctor protects Blocker Blocker blocks Cop Scum Blocker blocks Doctor Scum Role Cop investigates Cop Scum kills Blocker. 2. Doctor protects Cop Blocker blocks Cop Scum Blocker blocks Doctor Scum Role Cop investigates Blocker Scum kills Cop. 3. Doctor protects Blocker. Blocker blocks Cop Scum Blocker blocks Doctor Scum Role Cop investigates Cop Scum kills Doctor. This would represent a second breakdown among the Trusted. If the second or third scenario happens, there is no way in hell Mara Jade would go unlynched on Day 3, as she would be revealed by surviving trusted Good Guys, but at the same time we would lose our Doctor or our Cop on one night and the other would die the next. (In Scenario 1 Mara Jade would be telling the truth but would die for it.) But these are worst-case scenarios, and ones that assume that people targetting the Cop randomly get it right, let's look at some more likely ones, based on who knows what currently (but still assuming that Mara Jade is telling the truth): 4. Doctor protects Blocker Blocker blocks vanilla Scum Blocker blocks ??? (not the Cop) Scum Role Cop investigates ??? (not the Cop or the Blocker) Cop investigates ??? Scum kills Doctor This is our most likely scenario for the night. Well, aside from one I'll point out below. 5. Doctor protects Blocker Blocker blocks Scum killer Cop investigates ??? Scum Blocker blocks Doctor Scum Role Cop investigates ??? (this would be the only action that would change the outcome of the Night from good to bad or vice versa) Scum attempts to kill Blocker I have no clue what would happen here, even after contacting God for clarification about how the PRs would work. (For added "fun," have the Cop and the Scum Role Cop investigate each other. ) I suspect that something would happen, and God would be very angry with all of the Power Roles for giving her such a headache. So Scum, don't do this! 6. Doctor protects Blocker (yes, this is a theme--unless the Cop reveals themself, if Mara Jade is telling the truth James Bond will protect her. If she's lying, of course, that won't happen, but remember, right now we're assuming Mara Jade is being truthful.) Blocker blocks Scum killer. Cop investigates ??? Scum Blocker blocks Doctor (because, if Mara Jade is telling the truth in private, the scum don't know for sure who Mara Jade is) Scum Role Cop investigates ??? (again, not a factor in this) Scum fails to kill. This would be the ideal situation for the Good Guys, assuming that the Scum Role Cop does not catch a Power Role and depending on whether or not the Cop catches a Scum. Sadly, there's less than a 1/4 chance of the Blocker picking a Scum, and even then there's an additional 3/4 chance they'll pick the wrong Scum, so there's not much chance this'll happen. 7. Doctor protects Blocker Blocker blocks ??? (not the Scum killer) Cop investigates ??? Scum Blocker blocks Doctor Scum Role Cop investigates ??? Scum kills Doctor. The Scum sure shot, and if Mara Jade is trusted, she wouldn't be after this. However, it gives the Cop a free night of investigation, and will clarify a number of peoples' alignments based on earlier discussions. 8. Here's the second most likely course of action for tonight, assuming we decide to trust Mara Jade: Doctor protects Blocker Blocker blocks vanilla Cop investigates ??? Scum Blocker blocks ??? Scum Role Cop investigates ??? Scum kills me. This would be a devastating blow, but isn't exactly wise. Why? Well, for one thing, everyone would know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I'm a Good Guy, and therefore all my information (which I will pass out before the Night ends) will be publicly revealed and can be completely trusted. It may not be correct, but you will know that I'm working from a Good Guy perspective, which would help the Good Guys' analysis. OK, now, going back to the current (justified) belief that Mara Jade is Scum, here's what will probably happen tonight: 9. Doctor protects me Blocker blocks ??? Cop investigates ??? Scum Blocker blocks Doctor Scum Role Cop investigates ??? Scum kills me Again same disadvantages as #8, but this time we wouldn't know who our blocker is. There's other scenarios as well, but I'm getting a bit woozy from all this typing. I'll be around if anyone wants to chat. -

I can't believe I'm triple-posting, but... All right, this is vital, everyone. I need everyone to state who was in contact with Mr. Bear. If you were in contact with him, you may have vital information that could lead us to a Scum. Yes, Mara Jade is still our top suspect, but just to be safe, I'd like to know what information Bear might have had that would have gotten him killed. And if Jade is lying, this will be another nail in her coffin. -
Just say Byblos was too busy eating a banana to talk, and that he slid a book on Dastan over to De'kra, with the info from the previous conversation in it.

Seriously? We sit in total silence for all this time?! Apathy shall be the death of us all! -
Ooh, good point. And if Cinna ever find's Arthur's letters ( ), she could go on the third quest... Also, Arthur wrote to De'kra in Quest 17 just now.

"Luke, buddy, doesn't tha' bedroll belong ta a Hero? Ye'd best give it back." He chuckles and shakes his head. "Ah, Luke, always absent-minded with posessions. If yer not careful, my friend, yer gonna leave that Diamond with someone it don't belong ta and then ye'll be out o' luck!" -
While I can't speak to the minifig customization aspect, the LEGO Winter Post Office set has a brick-built saxophone. Coincidentally, that same set has a LEGO banjo--perfect for when you get around to doing Kermit. (I imagine a modification of the Space Police "Frenzy" head would be a good starting point for him, but like I said, I have no experience in minifig mods. ) Hope this helps! I'm supporting you, and I hope others do, too!

"Yes, Master." Arthur then sits down to write to De'kra... While Althior takes back his Garnet, Arthur asks Luke to give him back Alf's Healing Staff. -

"Um, Master, if you could possibly loan me 60 gold then, I REALLY need it for my purchases back at the Hall. I would be most grateful." OOC: Quest reward of 200 Gold goes to the four Scrolls, 25 goes to Alf for permanent ownership of the Healing Staff, and I need 50 to unmerge the Amethyst, plus I'd like to have a Shovel. Unless the Quest-givers throw in extra Gold for Arthur's recsonstruction blueprints ( ), he'll be 60 Gold short. -
Oh, this is THE Quest?!? You guys have been dropping hints for months! Tanma, could you have De'kra sign up for the Wren Quest to Dastan? Arthur will be signing up for it. EDIT: Orrrrrr not...Dang it, Zeph, you HAD to make a Wren Quest where Arthur would have to fight against the Lion Knights, the only people in Eubric he respects!

Say, just because I'm thinking of it, what are the rules on selling a gem-imbued weapon? I know that that would be insanity, but I want to know the fair market value for actual trading, just in case.

OOC: Yeah, but it's less after that rant about how much William dislikes Arthur. I'll give William what Arthur has left over after buying his supplies. K-nut, any chance Arthur could get a bit more than 80 Gold, since he's only asking for one thing and is willing to swap his current staff for it? I forgot that he needs to buy a Tonic or two. "Oh, yes, I had forgotten about...that. Well, consider your debt erased, and I'll see what I have left over after buying essential supplies. Don't forget, I still owe that Barbarian some coin..." -

While he waits for word on whether or not this was indeed the last wave of the Elven assault, Arthur begins making rudimentary repairs to the Fort walls, joined shortly thereafter by Count Knyghton. It's obviously an incomplete job, but Arthur's solid engineering work ensures that when the Lion Knights finish the job, the walls will be stronger than ever, featuring mounts for built-in drop traps, Slice N Dice blockades, and other surprises for unwary attackers. Arthur carefully draws out blueprints on a scrap of parchment, so that Count Knyghton can complete the work after the Heroes leave. -
Does anyone want to go through and see if Althior managed to claim "highest-damage attack in Heroica history" with that?

I think Doc and Scubacarrot are competing to see who can come up with the coolest loot. As long as I'm on one of their Quests, I say bring it on!

Heroica RPG - Quest #17: The Lion's Share

OOC: For gameplay purposes, it doesn't matter, but for RP purposes it does, so...Arthur's spell was an Ice spell. "We are victorious! Althior, I believe I claimed that Staff of the Necromancer at the start of the battle, I'll give someone else the Staff of the Elven Warlock if requested. I require nothing else besides some extra gold." OOC: give me a second to do some calculations, and I'll give the specific amount Arthur would need to conduct his business. Looking down at his feet, Arthur sees the Emerald that he had used when the mysterious figure appeared. He shudders. "William, you said you wanted this gem? Take it away from me, I dare not touch it. If you truly desire it, I will not stand in your way, but as a friend, I warn you...be wary of this gem. It is not...right. You might want to ask a more skilled Mage than I to take a look at it, to remove its curse." He shakes his head as if to clear it, and flippantly adds, "Oh, and I think you owe me 1 gold, William." "Master Arthur, are you alright?" No I'm not. "Yes, my friend, I am fine." With that, Arthur leaves the fort and retrieves Isabella's gold and dagger and gives them to her. OOC: If Arthur gets 80 gold, he'll be able to pay his debts and buy almost everything he wants from the Marketplace. Also, if anyone has extra Mage robes they would otherwise dispose of, Arthur would happily take them off your hands. "Oh, and Luke, the owner of that Healing Staff rented it out to me. I'll hold onto it now, I've made arrangements with the owner to buy it from them and will pay them as soon as I get back to the Hall." -
Mafia School: A Bedtime Story - Day Two
Flipz replied to Sandy's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
True...then again, they've killed two of us, including the Power Role that is most directly dangerous to them, and have a bead on another PR. That's a fair bargain for just one Scum out of four, presumably one of their goons that has no Night Action. (Mara Jade claimed Blocker, but that's almost impossible to verify in a situation without a Watcher or a Tracker or a Good Guy Role Cop.) Actually, Mara Jade didn't actually claim a specific role...here's what she said when reporting her Night Action "results": So...Mushu is a Thug (presumably this group of Bad Guys' name for a Goon), or a Power Role Townie, or a Vanilla Townie? Mara is a Cop that can only sense Bad Guys if they have a Night Action? If MJ meant that, as a Blocker, she can't see roles or alignments, then it would have been simpler to just say that. If our Cop or our true Good Guy Blocker would like to step forward, there are plenty of trustworthy Good Guys you can contact privately. Even if you just contact one or two others, you'll be giving the Good Guys another tool to find and out the Scum. If you have already been contacted by one of these Power Roles, please let the rest of us know, using code names for these individuals. Once we know who the Power Roles are, even if we don't know their specific identity, we'll be able to coordinate the remaining Night Actions, and will be able to get at least some confirmed information about alignments and the like. -
Is it just me, or is Quest 24 getting stiffed for loot? Aside from the one crossbow, there's not been a lot of good drops...

Ask Sandy if you can steal Aladdin's in the interlude. EDIT: Just noticed this in the Day 2 intro: :roflmao:

OK, just over an hour ago, Mara Jade sent me her defense. Allow me to provide an entertaining explanation of it. *puts on wig, turban, maid's outfit, and bwankie again* ( ) The Case of the Inept Infiltrator Starring Cinderella Harrietson Attabar Scene 1 Mara Jade: Alright, gang, stay cool. If we can convince everyone Cindy's a Scum, then we can destroy the Good Guys and I'll get away scot-free! Cinderella: Oh, no, Mr. Bear died, AND the other two suspects I got killed were Good Guys. All right, gang, I'm an idiot-- Audience: Yes you are! Cinderella: Shut up. Anyway, I'm laying all my information on the table. *Pulls a mountain-sized tome out of nowhere and drops it on the table, which promptly goes to splinters under its weight.* Mara Jade: God damn it. Cinderella: Oh, I'm sorry, did you like that table? Mara Jade: No, but with you bringing forth all this information, my scummy plans are screwed. Cinderella: Your what? Mara Jade: Nothing! Cinderella: Say...didn't I give you all that information last night? Weren't you the only person who knew both James Bond's identity and target AND Mr. Bear's identity and target? Mara Jade: You either dropped breadcrumbs to Scum accidentally, or I did. Er, actually, I must have done it, to this guy. *runs into the audience and drags CLUTCH POWERS to the stage. Cinderella doesn't look convinced.* Uh...oh, look, a flashback transition! Cinderella: I don't see-- Scene 2 Two days ago... Cinderella: Seriously, your defense is information that's two days old?!? Mara Jade: Shut up, you weren't here at the time. Cinderella: Sorry. Clutch Powers: Hello. I'm chatting with some people in the closet and getting their list of suspects. Who do you think is a Bad Guy? I think James Bond, Pinocchio, Mushu, and Tarzan are suspects, what about you? Cinderella: Hey, you didn't know these code names at the time! Actually, I never gave him ANY code-names-- Mara Jade: The names have been changed to protect people because this is YOUR stupid play. And you aren't even here, so SHUT UP! Cinderella: Sorry. *The Audience laughs at the repeated interruption.* Mara Jade: Boy, you sure want James Bond dead. I'll keep an eye on both you and him. Tarzan and Mr. Bear are my other likely suspects. Cinderella: Was this before or after I connected you and Mr. B-- Mara Jade: SHUT UP!!!!! Cinderella: Sorry! Sheesh, it IS my play, after all. *The Audience roars with laughter. Cinderella's doing a better job this time.* Mara Jade: Um...hello? Can we go back to the pres-- Scene 3 Mara Jade: --ent? Thank you. Harriet the Slut: You're welcome! *Mara Jade does a double-take, then shrugs* Mara Jade: So, as you can see, Clutch Powers wanted to get rid of Bond, Pinocchio, Tarzan, and Mushu, all of whom I trust. Cinderella: So you're saying you even though you trusted them, you didn't defend Pino-- Mara Jade: STOP POINTING OUT THE INCONSISTENCIES IN MY STORY! Cinderella: Mara Jade: If Clutch was Scum, it would be easy for him to set me up by killing a player I had accused and blocking one of the ones I said I was keeping an eye on. It could either be a lucky move by the Scum, or maybe Mr. Bear said something too much in one of his conversations. At this point, Clutch Powers is the only suspect I have. *Cinderella stands in silence, unconvinced.* Mara Jade: Except! I think I'll start swinging Tarzan around, he's CLEARLY a scum! *Grabs Tarzan from the audience and carries him back and forth across the stage, rambling incoherently.* Cinderella: Didn't you JUST say you trusted him? Mara Jade: *drops Tarzan to the floor with a THUNK* Oh, yeah...well...uh...I'M NOT SCUM! Cinderella: ...you do realize, that last night I went around telling pretty much everyone I was in contact with that I was the prime target for protection, and that no one else besides you, me, James Bond, and Mr. Bear knew he was going to be James Bond's real protection target? The ONLY way last night could have happened was if the Bad Guys knew to block Bond and knew to kill Bear. Random audience member: What if they thought Bear WAS James Bond? Cinderella: If Bond had died, we'd still have a vigilante to use against the Scum. No, the Scum wanted Bear dead, and the only way they could possibly have known both who he was AND how to prevent him from being protected was if someone told him. And that someone was YOU! *points dramatically at Mara Jade* Mara Jade: *unimpressed* Was that really necessary? I mean wasn't the whole point of this play to accuse me? Cinderella: *now wearing a fake beard, tan pants, and a blue OXY-CLEAN shirt* But wait, there's more! YOU can decide the end of this play! Shall the murderous Mara Jade go free? Or shall we unmask this heinous villian? VOTE NOW! *begins playing dramatic voting music* Mara Jade: Oh, god, just kill me now. Curtain...for now! So what do you think, friends? Do YOU find Mara Jade's defense convincing? Or shall I expose her for the Scum she is? To add to that...holy hell that was a long play! My statement at the top should be amended to "almost TWO hours ago".
