  1. If he adds a Topaz he'd lose out against Electric enemies (which are semi-rare) but gain additional damage against Aquatic, Flying, and Mechanical enemies, all of which are fairly common foes... EDIT: Oh, and can someone post in the Hall so Arthur can come back in and talk to Docken before he leaves?
  2. Arthur walked into the library, looked around to make sure no one else was looking, and whispered to Byblos. "Psst!" Arthur pulled a shining banana out of his cloak. "Grown from an Elven Emerald in the lush forests near Bric'Bay, while no one was looking." He slides the banana over to the Metasimian, and continues in his normal voice, "Thank you for these Quest books, Byblos, they proved most useful to me while defending the fort. I've taken the time to copy them, so I will give you the originals back. Are there any more Quest books ready, now that so many Quests have returned?" Byblos nods toward a cart of books that has, as of yet, not been placed on the shelves. Picking up a number of them, he stashes them in his robes. "Oh, and do you have any blank books I could write in? I ran out of the ones I brought from home during that business with the Zeigfried witch Valentine." Byblos, still busy with his banana, grabs a few blank books from behind his desk and then waves him off so he could eat in peace. Arthur returned to the Hall to continue his preparations, but first he decided to start reading the Quest books...
  3. "I understand. Good luck! If you see Cinna, tell her I'm at the Hall still and ask why she didn't answer my V-mail letters!" With that, Arthur heads for the Library.
  4. That'd be awesome, thanks! Now if Arthur gets lucky and ends up with a Topaz in Dastan, he'll have all of the equipment he'll need until he reaches Sorcerer.
  5. Darkdragon, if Cinna still wants to get rid of that Shovel, Arthur will take it off your hands for cheap.
  6. "I need just 15 Gold to buy the last Scroll. I don't think Elphaba will be here much longer, so I definitely need to get it before the Quests leave. Actually, if you could loan me 25 I'd be able to pick up a Shovel as well, maybe make back the needed Gold quicker."
  7. You know damn well who James Bond is, and you know exactly how monumentally stupid it would be for me to lie about that! Point one: OK, my bad, you've got to admit, though, you phrased it poorly. That doesn't explain the fact that you trust one of our top candidates for Scum (Mushu), aside from you of course. Point two: Yes, I've admitted I screwed up with Pinocchio. You've yelled at me for it. I've yelled at me for it. Everybody's yelled at me for it. Would you like me to perform a play solely about people yelling at me for having a screwed-up scumdar? Because I can totally do that if it makes you feel bette. Point three: Once again, you know exactly who our Doctor, James Bond is, and you know why my betraying them last night would have been monumentally stupid, especially if I were Scum and you were not. (Actually, you're living--for now --proof that that betrayal was a lousy play for Scum. ) Point four: I don't think I need to explain why this argument is nonsensical, especially considering you were told James Bond's Night Action results by James freakin' Bond himself. Final point: And in a show of completely contrived cruel irony, I'll mirror your actions (see what I did there? ) and Vote: Goldilocks (Darth Nihilus), for the reasons stated earlier. You're right, I can't figure out what a Scum would stand to gain from changing one name in their quoted suspect list. Why don't you tell us? Oh, wait, I know why! Ooh, too bad that would expose poor Mr. Bond. Well, that's partly my own fault for not reading carefully enough before posting, but really, nearly getting the Doctor's identity exposed? That's a genius move! (Yes, I am being serious and congratulating a Scum on a well-planned--if unsuccessful--play.) That way, when the Doctor dies tonight, the Scum can claim that everyone already knows who the Doctor is, so just because they knew doesn't make them a suspect. Great play, I'm glad I didn't fall for it. Actually, coming down off the soapbox for a moment, you really have done quite well for a Scum. I'm just more obsessed with Mafia prepared than you, and you had the misfortune of being the Scum I suspected of having a Power Role and thus extended contact to. Great playing, but...checkmate. *gets off soapbox* LYNCH THE SCUM!!! BUT TAKE NAUGHTY PHOTOS FIRST!
  8. Odd, EB was REALLY slow around then, but I didn't get an error message...
  9. "Thank you, friend! I shall indeed! 'Tis a pity that so few Heroes are requested by the Lion Knights, it would be great if both new friends and old allies could join forces together in the distant lands of this far empire." Arthur sees an Orcish Paladin sitting at the bar. Surely this was the legendary Cronk he had heard and read so much about. "Hail and well met, mighty Paladin Cronk! Thy deeds are legend. Your next round is on me!" With a melodramatic flourish, Arthur launched four silver nobles over to the bar next to Cronk, as if conjured purely by magic. The last one clipped the ear of an unfortunate bar patron, who prompty swung around and threw his half-empty glass at Arthur. The mage, his attention returned to De'kra and Atramor, failed to notice the shield of dark energy that protected him from the projectie aimed at his back...
  10. "Howdy, Arasmyth! Say, you in a generous mood? I have no robe at all..." "I'm not worried. It sounds like the action of a few vigilantes causing trouble, I have full confidence in the Lion Knights. No, it's something else...something...elusive." Arthur pauses, wondering if he should even say anything. But, he had told his friend the Journal that he would talk about it, so he had to try. "De'kra," he began hesitantly, oddly aware of the intense gaze of McCafferey at his back. Snap out of it, man, it's just a chicken... "In the battle, there was...a figure. He...Brother, are there others like you? Here, on this world? I mistook him for you, at first, but he was ghostlike. Immaterial. Eight eyes, only one arm, a strange brown hat, like the Hero in that portrait wears," he said, pointing to Daxus' portrait. "But most distinctive...a long, rusted chain..." Arthur drifts off, as he remembers the resigned horror on Lord Leorry's countenance as the chain passed through him, the life draining from his body in a way thad the others had not. "His death...the Elf leader's, I mean, it was...this creature wanted him, it sought him out, and it used me to strike the finishing blow so it could have its way with him. And somehow I surprised it. It saw me notice it, I felt its surprise, deep inside me. It somehow...respects me for that. It was a creature of pure darkness...and a part of me liked it. It sensed a kinship, somehow, or something like that. Am I crazy, De'kra? Are there legends of this being in your memories? Or, and I hesitate to ask...do you know it personally?" Arthur grimaced as he watched gold being exchanged. He was just ten Gold short of what he needed for his final Scroll, and he still wished to pay off William after that...incident. Writing a note for William with 5 Gold enclosed and leaving it in the care of Schezerade, he turned to his Rogue companions. "Say, De'kra, Atramor, would either of you be willing to loan me 15 Gold, so I may buy the last Scroll for my collection?"
  11. Ah, no, it's because I keep getting interrupted every time I go to reply.
  12. Happened again, ended 5:55 PM Pacific Standard time. Remembered the screenshot this time. (link because it's above site guidelines in size) http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii33/poochythegenius/EurobricksDatabaseError2012-04-11.jpg
  13. Why is it that wherever I run into you, you always end up being the guy who gets picked on by everyone else?
  14. "Arthur. Arthur Justus Regulus, the seventh. And this is my counterpart R2-D2 If I recall correctly from the records in the library,, you were among the Heroes who went on the hunt for the Lady Wren around the time I arrived in Heroica. How--" Arthur is momentarily distracted as Bartholomew Docken passes him by. It's almost as if he knows him somehow... ( ) Arthur regains his composure quickly. "How did that Quest go, if I may ask?"
  15. "Wow! Atramor! Loving the new look! And...you've embraced the Etherial potential within you! Congratulations." Arthur holds up his new Scrolls. "I bought these off of Elphaba a bit ago, I hope to have some "fun" with them soon." "Strange, those are the two Heroes I've been looking for as well." Remembering there were exactly four spots left for Quest 31, and feeling a foreboding sense of destiny, he spoke hastily. "Come on, Atramor, we need to find De'kra and Cinna, and sign up for Quest 31 together. Although..." he hesitates. "I know it says 'no Clerics', but honestly, the opportunity is too good to pass up. It just feels...right, somehow."
  16. OK, I've talked, and waited, and puzzled things out, and I've decided to out Mara Jade. Goldilocks is Mara Jade. Here's my conversation with a trusted ally, "Indiana Jones", about Goldilocks (some names have been changed to protect their identities): He also seemed pretty eager to get rid of you, Pinocchio, Puss, and Mushu, all of whom have been either confirmed or are trusted by me. This would be the perfect cover: Mr. Bear, who I accused, dies, and one of the people I said to him that I was 'keeping an eye on' gets blocked. It could either be a lucky move by the Scum, or maybe Mr. Bear said something too much in one of his PMs. At this point, Charming is the only suspect I have. I'm not going to say anything, I want your opinion. Do I go forward with my threat or not? Wow. That's all just... odd. If I'm reading that correctly, Goldie is saying that Pinocchio was confirmed by him (but yet, we did not hear any good defense of him by Goldie yesterday) Goldie also trusts puss (but today tries to out him as scum with a flaily accusation). And trusts Mushu (whom we both suspect as being a scummy too). Moreover, he says he blocked Mushu, despite trusting him? Or is he saying he trusts him because he blocked him and nothing changed? There's nothing heaps suspicious in Charming's list (assuming it's from yesterday). Everyone was after Pino, Mushu was being odd, as was Puss and you, well, you were being loud which could have been (but isn't) as scummy trick. Charming was right to reserve judgement if he felt like it. All in all this just seems like another attempt to throw someone else to the mob rather than provide an in depth defense. At least, that's how it seems to me. I can't see he's offered anything concrete that vindicates him. It is possible that he's innocent and did just let things slip, except for that fact that Bond was blocked. No one else knew who the doctor was. A final possibly, way out there, is that the scum did simply get lucky choosing to block Bond and kill bear, but with everything in yesterday's thread the higher percentage play would have been to straight up kill Bond, especially if they had any hint that one of theirs was not in the fireing line from the vig. Either it would have worked and Bond would be dead, or he was doctored and they would have lost nothing much. Nah. I don't buy it. He's got to be lying about who he blocked. That's my take based on the above. *later* *later* *later* *later* *later* And here's what I said to Charming: Sure... First, I said on April 7th: Hello. I'm PM-ing some people and getting their list of suspects. Who do you think is a Bad Guy? My list is: The Big Bad Wolf Pinocchio Puss in Boots Mushu Who's on yours? And then Goldie said: You do seem eager to get rid of Cindy, don't you? Not sure whether that bides good or ill, but I'm definitely going to keep my eye on both of you. Anyway, I don't have many as of yet, but Puss is definitely on there. Mr. Bear as well, maybe. Still working on it. That's all I've sent Goldie. *snip* OMG, I totally did not notice the discrepancy between Goldilocks' version of Charming's PM and Charming's version of it until just now. Why would Goldilocks change Wolf's name on Charming's scum suspicion list to mine? I feel so much better about sharing this now. Anyhow, that's it, I discussed with Jones as to whether or not to share this (and their code name ), but that's pretty much it. If anyone wants to see my PM chain with Goldilocks from the beginning, I can do that when I get back from running errands.
  17. Banned, actually... I really enjoyed the Quest, though I must admit it ran a little long. I really enjoyed getting to play Count Knyghton, even though he was no Hoptet, he was still fun to characterize. I hope he appears again in Quest 31! And those siege weapons I so lovingly made better show up in more refined forms, too! The only thing I missed was character interaction, we got a little bit of it going between Arthur and Althior with the Apprentice bit, and of course you all put up with De'kra and me yakking all the time in between battles, but for the most part, we built, we fought, we waited. I would have liked to have seen more chances for interaction, perhaps a couple of Pikemen could have gotten into a scuffle the Heroes would have to mediate, or something like that. I tried to instigate that with the whole "spy mission" thing before the final round, but then Althior shot that down. Overall, great Quest, and I can't wait to Quest with you again!
  18. Arthur strides back into the Hall, seeing if he could spot any familiar faces. Althior and Alexis were busy cooing at each other, and Atramor swept into the Training Room before Arthur could get his attention. He hoped he could find De'kra before either of them departed, and that he could meet some of the Heroes with which he had corresponded through the hated Valentine Zeigfried...
  19. As Arthur stepped into the marketplace, he was startled to see none other than... "Elphaba? Ha! I haven't seen her cart since I was a boy!" Seeing that she was busy with another customer, he quietly browsed her wares and made some mental calculations. "Hmm, yes, hmm..." Leaving Elphaba to her conversation with a rather tall-looking dwarf, he headed to Anwyl's Smithy...only to find it empty. "Hmph! Well, might as well..." Leaving a note with instructions for the blacksmith, he also deposits his Serpentine Staff for sale and his Staff of the Elven Necromancer for elemental unbinding, along with 35 Gold as payment (50 gold for elemental unbinding, minus the 15 for the Serpentine Staff). He hoped the bag of silver nobles he also left behind would convince the smithy to accept his more...unusual specifications for the Necromancer staff. Returning to Elphaba's, he caught her just about to leave the stall, in the direction of Anwyl's, it seemed. He negotiated purchases Scrolls of Blindness, Confusion, and, on the flip of a copper common, Sealing, for a grand total of 150 Gold. After promising to come back for the final scroll, and a few moments of idle chit-chat (the witch clearly didn't remember him, but she made a good effort of pretending she did), Arthur headed back to the Hall, his money-pouch 185 gold lighter, but better prepared for the days to come. He hoped his package would arrive at the Hall soon. (225 - (50 + 50 + 50 + 50) + 15 = 40 Gold)
  20. Heh, and I suggested the same thing to you in PM about a month later--suggesting you and Brickdoctor, nonetheless! 2 out of 3 less than a month later ain't bad, right?
  21. See, this is why I can't trust myself--I go and be all super cautious about the identity of a potential Scum, and then I say/do something stupid like that. :wall: In the future, just kick me in the megablocks--you know I like that, remember, lover? OK, I need to ask my allies one last time in private, and then I'll get final word out on Mara Jade.
  22. As Arthur begins walking to the Marketplace, he sees a Lion Knight carrying an official-looking notice. He greets the man warmly, and, before he can even nail the Quest notice to the wall, signs his name for Quest 31 without hesitation. Taking another look at the other Quest notices, he decides to put his name down for Quest 29 as well. He considers signing up for Quest 30, but decides not to; the situation was obviously a great misunderstanding. Arthur reads the three Quest requests and decides that all leaders must be idiots; surely they could, just by reading the notices of the other Quests work out the truth of the situation and settle their differences peacefully? Then again, the more they squabble, the more rewards there are for him and other Heroes...perhaps there were no good organizations, not even the Lion Knights, not even Heroica... Pushing these thoughts out of his mind--he has business to conduct, after all--he finishes signing his name to Quest 29, and in his absent-mindedness signs up for Quest 30 as well. As Arthur rushes off to the Marketplace, a heavily bearded figure in all white and a lean-looking man in fine clothing approach the Quest board. They observe Arthur's name, and return to the shadows, chuckling all the way...
  23. Arthur didn't just enter the Hall...he arrived. Gliding through the city on a ramp of ice, he didn't stop at the doors to the hall--a wave of his staff, and they flew open with a BANG. He coasted to a stop in front of the Quest board, and saw De'kra's name on the sign-ups for Quest 29. Interesting...it appears his latest Quest treated him well, then. He resolved to speak with the shade about it...as well as the darker portent that had marred the end of his otherwise successful Quest. More importantly, though, he saw that many other Quests had ended since his departure, and that the Hall was filled with Heroes. "Excellent. A chance to catch up with old friends, and time to meet new ones!" Leaving a quick note for De'kra pinned to the board in case the two missed each other, he headed of to the Marketplace.
  24. Spot freakin' reserved! Great Quest, Doc! Off to the marketplace so I can become overpowered now...
  25. Hehe, nice status. :P
