  1. Oh, that's right, I forgot! Evokers, I blame you!
  2. Arthur decides to save Luke a bit of Ether and whacks himself with the Healing Staff from the Back Row. Count Knyghton leaves the regular swordsman for Isabella and once again attacks the Crossbowman from the Back Row. OOC: EDIT: R&D just reminded me Magic Burst is random.
  3. "Thanks, Luke. Remind me to lend you the Healing Staff after the battle--no sense wasting a Round on it this time."
  4. Uh...why to they need to get naked...? Then again, I'm getting this so if I ever host a Heroica Quest in which Cronk appears, I can have him go shirtless, so...
  5. OOC: Also, just realized, Doc, I should have only taken 4 damage, thanks to the SP:1 of the Robe of the Magi.
  6. "Isabella, take the Dual Swordsman, since you can't be touched by him! Luke, if you don't mind healing me, I'll attack the normal swrodsman from the Back Row with my Darkness magic." "I'm fine, I'll try tha crossbowman again from tha Back Row."
  7. How did you manage to score a preview?! Good on you, dude!
  8. You do realize that your cloak lets you short-circuit pretty much any battle, by attacking the highest-Level enemy with no chance of taking damage, right? :P

  9. Back to the Future is less than 1,000 votes away as well. Two in one week, perhaps?
  10. "Isabella, no, take the double swordsman, he can't hit you at all but if you get lucky you could take him out almost instantly!" EDIT: EDIT2: Never mind.
  11. Addendum: Also note that aside from classes I currently have no life, at all, and can usually spend most of the day stalking the other players paying attention to the game.
  12. 1. I tried to emulate you and epically failed (but had fun doing it! ) as Cinderella, the gutsiest Good guy Doctor in Mafia School: A Bedtime story, and passed! I've also played the real-world, "party game" version of Mafia and been heavily metagamed to death (for full details, PM me). 2. I have a couple of college graduation ceremonies to attend at the end of May and in mid-June, but they shouldn't be all-day events. I have class on Mondays and Wednesdays in the mornings, but I'm usually back by mid-afternoon, and I can occasionally sneak on to EB during class breaks. 3. Is this roleclaims others have done, or one I would make up? As far as others' roleclaims go, my favorite would have to be Tammo's "High Priest-who-turns-neutral-after-the-godfather-dies-and-who-is-also-the-bomb". As far as my own claim goes, I can say with confidence that an Alien Jailkeeper that redirects the target's action instead of blocking it Nexus (I thought that was the right term! ) is THE ultimate role, ever.
  13. OOC: Because I had just been burned by looking for clues in Mafia photos and am still twice shy.
  14. OOC: All right, then, Count Knyghton will continue his stated action from before; I believe that was attacking the Crossbowman from the Back Row.
  15. OOC: So is Luke still going to heal himself? If so, Count Knyghton will do nothing, and Skrall should target the crossbowman. Unless...do the Free Hits take the Back Row into account if we attack from the Back Row? If they do, Knyghton's action stays the same, if not, he sits back and does nothing. Arthur shouts encouragement to his allies. "Don't worry, Isabella, you can do it! We can take these guys!"
  16. WBD, sorry, I just don't buy that that was a complete surprise. I saw it coming, and I wasn't even thinking about Hans. Then again, I'm addicted to TVTropes, so I'm crazy Genre Savvy, though admittedly Wrong Genre Savvy at times. Also, Doc, this is why I love your loot: because it always has some kind of special property to it. Because of that, and because of how you make your enemies, it's always a super fun game of fiddling about with the arcane micro-aspects of the battle system to do cool things like render the strongest enemy unable to KO a character.
  17. As he continued charging his Darkness spell, Arthur called out to Skrall, "Sir, if you wish, I can heal Count Knyghton with my Healing Staff at no Ether loss. Alternatively, I could attempt to Confuse one of them into attacking the others. I believe the present course of action would be better, I simply wished to remind you of our options. Also, I suggest that Isabella take the crossbowman from the back row, as he is one of the weaker foes." EDIT: "I take that back, she should attack the Dual Swordsman, as she cannot take damage this Round thanks to that cloak of hers. She should be put second in the order, so as to absorb the most possible Damage. Put Alexandre just before me. Unless you wish a different strategy, I'll continue with this bolt of Darkness."
  18. "Spast! Luke, see if you can take a Free Hit from the dual-swordsman or the butcher, you have the most health of all of us. Isabella and I should go last and attack from the Back Row, as we can barely take a hit from these guys as it is. Actually, ALL of us should attack from the back row--even you, Sir Alexandre." Hoisting his Amethyst and charging his power, Arthur blasts the Swordsman from the Back Row with Darkness magic. OOC: Because there's only four of them, only the first four in the Battle Order will take damage, correct? EDIT: From the Free Hits, I mean, obviously anyone can take damage if they roll "Damage" or "Special Damage". "I'm sorry, m'friend," Count Knyghton says to the Minotaur. "I shoulda paid better attention to ya." Readying his spatha, he attacks the crossbowman from the Back Row.
  19. Wow, lots of promotions within the mod teams! Congratulations, Big Cam!
  20. "There doesn't appear to be any mining equipment...oh, you mean training! Yes, I'd very much like to see what sort of troops are at our dispoasl." Count Knyghton, meanwhile, tries to see if the minotaur drops any more clues as to what it wants. "Soldier, where's tha food I asked for for tha minotaur? And CAN any of ya understand him?"
  21. Congrats, Cronk CorneliusMurdock! Licensed is lucky to have you!
  22. "Let me let you in on a little secret: the 'weak' are truly the strongest of us all. An invading army seeks power, and wealth, and perhaps the glory of combat. The invaded seeks survial--of themselves, of their families, and, most importantly, the survival of their very culture, their very identity. Even when numerically weak, their determination is unmatched. And let me demonstrate something else: individual ants may be puny, but when a whole nest of them rises against a foe they can strip the flesh from their bones in minutes. Heroica is strong because we support the weak, and they, in turn, support us. To wage war on Heroica is to wage war on the world. The Lion Knights, too, have the opportunity to assume such a position, if only you can see the world from a slightly different perspective." Count Knighton looks confusedly at the minotaur, when something clicks in his mind. "Soldier, get tha minotaur somethin' ta eat."
  23. I can guarantee it won't overlap, here, this is something different. In other news: Random question of the [undefined time period]: If you could somehow meet your Heroica character in the real world, would the two of you get along?
  24. "No, cowardice is striking out at an innocent, unprepared foe, one who has done nothing to you, your friends, and your allies. The Empire of Dastan did nothing to the rebels, nor to the Lion Knights, since the ancient battle many years ago, and yet the rebels attack them, without cause, without reason. We, on the other hand, simply seek the safety and security of the Emperor and his people; to fail to prepare would be to neglect our duty and to assure our defeat. No, we are not cowards; at Bric'bay we took the injuries that would have otherwise killed your men, and we shall do so again here. We are Heroes, we are of courage, and of honor. Search your feelings, Lady, you know it to be true." While Arthur argues with Leofwena, Count Knyghton moves over to the crates, and, with the assistance of a soldier, gingerly lifts the lid off of one, observing what lay inside.
  25. Arthur looks around. "Can anyone here translate for the Emperor's bodyguard?" Turning to Leofwena, he replies, "We were discussing strategy with the Emperor. A well-prepared warrior is one who wins the battle, and lives to tell the tale."
