  1. Well...shit. Way to please the fanbase, LEGO. Actually, what are the prices going to be like on Bricklink? Because I'm not wasting an extra $40 on stuff I don't need. Tip to TLG: Quit with the "from only one theme" sales. You're just screwing yourself over.
  2. "Does he have a son, or a partner, or someone else who would know where to find that cave?" Turning to Count Knighton, he adds, "my friend, please wrap this pedestal up securely, so that none of it is exposed. We'll need to take it with us to prevent the Cult from getting their hands on it." "I've got a better idea." Taking a broken board and some rope, he fashions the magical portion into a makeshift shield. "I dunno how got it'll do against physical blows, but it's nice to have somethin' tha' can drain an enemy's Ether." Whirling suddenly, he holds the pedestal-shield to Arthur's throat. "Now, tell me why I shouldn't suck ya dry of yer magic, mage?" OOC: Pause to let others react.
  3. Arthur then moves on to examine the pedestal, consulting both his notes and the remaining books to see if he could glean any extra clues.
  4. Arthur goes over his notes, attempting to see if there's anything he can translate regarding ways to prevent summoning of the undead, or weaknesses of Chimaeras, or anything that could give a clue to the Cult's plans or ways to stop them. "My lord, have the other Emperors been informed of this attack?" Count Knyghton walks up to Arthur. "I'll handle this," he says grudgingly, "you go investigate that pedestal, see if you can divine its properties." "Isn't it obvious? That must be the pedestal in which the ancient Chimaera was created. I'd wager the sword is related to that battle somehow as well." Arthur examines the sword closely in a attempt to learn of its properties.
  5. "Damn. Had to have been..." The flecks disappeared from Arthur's eyes, and his speech grew more gentle and respectful. "My lord, does that blade have any special properties? Anything that may help us find her? And what's so special about that pedestal?" Arthur examines the bookshelf to see which books are missing. OOC: Ha ha, random characterization yields an unexpected benefeit!
  6. As the party walked along the trail, Count Knyghton hit Arthur in the back of the head. Arthur stumbled, and threw the engineer an odd look of mixed loathing and confusion. That's when Knyghton noticed the flecks in the mage's iris... before he could get a closer look, Arthur spun around and refused to speak to or even look at Knyghton. *** As Arthur entered the palace and caught sight of the devastation, he looked around in confusion. "Have we really been here before? I can hardly recognize this room in this state!" He rushes up to the Emperor, pulling out his healing staff and gently laying it upon the man's shoulders. "What happened, your highness? Who did this? We shall flay the flesh from their bones!" The flecks in Arthur's eyes began to glow as he said this...
  7. I completely don't care about 10%-off coupons, I have a Disneyland pass, so if I shop at the Downtown Disney store I get 10% off anytime. I'm glad to hear that the Geonosian Cannon, the Clone Battle Pack, and the planet sets won't be on sale; now I can start planning my full purchase. That bit about only needing some Star Wars sets should apply to the U.S. as well...right? (And will the U.S. be getting the TIE promo with this as well?)
  8. Oh, snap! How do you like the new change?

  9. If I end up doctor in this and Pie ends up Scum in Steampunk Mafia, I will officially call shenanigans on whatever cosmic force that defines "randomness".
  10. Looks at soup, unable to eat. "Don't hope to die, GioDarthNihilus... Don't ever hope to die..."
  11. That's my problem. See my earlier question. I had to do it, I just can't figure out why. I'll take Zepher's advice and see what I come up with afterwards. In other news, due to the need for some specific parts I probably won't have my "secret project" ready until after May the Fourth, I need to pick up a couple sets then.
  12. Yeah, I know what you mean. I know where I'm going, I think I may have just made too much of a leap all at once. But at the same time, it just seemed like what Arthur would do...man, if he's already this way WITHOUT anyone goading him on... It also doesn't help that Knighton is the only available character with a real personality that Arthur can talk to (i.e. everyone else is offline). If Skrall were to comment about it, I might have someplace to start.
  13. Count Knyghton is among the disgusted, shocked speechless by Arthur's actions. He feebly tries to defend his...ally. "It's, uh...I guess...what the Pogs woulda done ta us, if, uh, ya know. Er...I think. Somethin' like that. I'm uh, sure he's got a reason for it..." OOC: ...the heck? See, I should have waited until I got over laughing before I tried to type. Yeah, I did mean to take "the rest of the body to the fire in the Lion Knight fort."
  14. That awkward moment when you know the action you just took was right for the character, but you don't know for the life of you why, or where to go from there... Any suggestions? I'm honestly drawing a blank on what to do, character-wise.
  15. Properly chagrined, Arthur drags the rest of the fire to the Lion Knight fort and cooks the meat before eating it. OOC: I laughed so hard I almost couldn't type.
  16. This is what I was trying to avoid... I believe this trope says it all. In total honesty, I would MUCH rather keep playing Heroica than to have my RPG up, if I had to choose between the two. My words were closer to "It will be a year at least before I even pitch the RPG." I really, REALLY enjoy Heroica, and would never do something I thought would harm or threaten it. Hope that clears everything up.
  17. "Perhaps you should Track her down with your Hunter skills, Master Skrall." Arthur casually pulls off the Tethusial's arm and begins munching on it.
  18. Before anyone mis-reads anything, please note: The reason my sci-fi RPG isn't here yet is NOT because it was rejected; it is because I haven't pitched it yet (i.e. it's not ready). Thank you for reading this statement and not jumping to conclusions.
  19. You probably won't see this until it's too late, but... epic post count. (1234 :P )

  20. OOC: I have no life, so I'm online constantly. Dharkan lives in a different time zone, so her days are our nights, and WBD is apparently just a night owl, plain and simple. Arthur "accidentally" hits the tethusial with his regular staff again to punctuate Skrall's point.
  21. "And you think the Rebels will do any better by you?" Arthur snorts. "As if. Let me tell you something: people like that, break their oaths once? It gets a lot easier to break 'em again. At best, they'll ignore you just like the Emperors do, and at worst...well, the pogs always need feeding..." Arthur stops for a moment, considering. "Help us. Give up the rebel leaders, convince your people to do the same, and we'll do our best to get you out of here, move you someplace out of the Empire's reach, where you can live without the air itself trying to suck you dry." The gleam returns to Arthur's eyes, and the staff crackles with a new burst of energy. "Betray us, though, and we'll make the Empire look like angels by comparison."
  22. You know, I think that'd be the one time when combat in the Hall would actually be encouraged.
  23. "So what do you Rebels want? What is your purpose here?"
  24. "So, wait, you're saying the Rebels are planning to try and convince our troops to defect? What would convince them to do that?" Arthur drops the Healing Staff this time--he clearly liked this answer, yet somehow the brief act of healing seemed even more menacing than the torture. He leans in close to the Tethusian, his intended expression of conspiratorial reassurance coming off as an unsettling pleasure. "We heroes have been known to switch sides, if our employers have been in the wrong," he tells the rebel quietly, standing back up with a panic-inducing wink.
  25. Grah! Must...save...money...for...May the 4th and LEGO Store grand re-opening...! If I see an NRG Jay, though, I will have to get it right then and there, no way could I pass that up. When IS it scheduled for LEGO stores? I remember that the Anaheim store had the January sets by mid-December...
