  1. Well...first thing's first, I have to get into Byblos' Quest--which has become my number one priority. Since at that time Arthur'll obviously not be a Scholar, he can just loan Byblos the Lens and all of his Scrolls except the Scroll of Luck and the Scroll of Poisoning (since that's also a "positive" Scroll) and watch Byblos status the enemies to death. Later on, Arthur can lend his positive Scrolls to Boomers or someone else who could make use of them. Damn.
  2. I WANT this class! :drool_wub:
  3. FYI, Zeph, the pic for Bombster B is missing, you may want to fix that. Action Summary: >Skrall (Hunter's Crossbow) v. Bombster A (Back Row) >Arthur (Lightning, Sir Roderick's Sword) v. Chimaera Guard B (Back Row) >Dyric (Briar Bow) v. Chimaera Guard C (Back Row) >Gnash (City Watch Halberd) v. Chimaera Guard F (Back Row) >Phil (Hammer of Dastan) v. Chimaera Guard E (Back Row) >Alexis (Lightning, Mockthril Longbow) v. Chimaera Guard G (Back Row) >Haldor (Zoot er Isen) v. Bombster B (Back Row) >Alexis (Lightning, Mockthril Longbow) v. Chimaera Guard H (Back Row) >Poletad (attack) v. Chimaera Guard D
  4. Speaking of your Quest, is it just me, or do your damage calculations for this past Round seem off? I think the werewolf should have lost more health, and Bob less. Also, because it'll bug me to death if I don't bring it up: the term is 'arc', not 'arch'. Now, back on-topic: it just became apparent to me how few people in the party Arthur actually trusts. This saddens me; not because of his tensions with the other player-controlled characters, but because out of all of Zeph's wonderful NPCs there are two, perhaps three he's actually comfortable talking to. Even the Gray Wizard, one of his role models, is someone to be watched with a wary eye, just because he's so Haldor-like about his authority. It makes me sad that Arthur's likely to miss out on the interactions that could be, simply because he doesn't like anyone who's there to talk to.
  5. OOC: He updated the earlier post.
  6. "At least these things don't revive themselves after you've killed them...nasty buggers they were in Dastan, this lot. Nyx and Atramor dealt more with 'em, though, or so I've heard. How about you, Emperor? Did you have any encounters with these things beyond Drakencourt?" "Oy! Bomber! What's your boss' going rate these days, anyway?"
  7. Well, as to the LEGO Universe question, recall that Starbase 3001 (the access point to the LUP worlds, which include Moonbase) was very, very far away from the "main" areas, both in terms of reaching it and in story terms; I'd find it plausible that the Moonbase faction was in fact an early exploration mission by the Classic Space command, that ended up cut off from the rest of the universe until the time of LU; it would explain why it has a neo-Classic aesthetic (they advanced in technology, but not at the same rate or in the same way as the rest of the universe), and would also clear up any timeline issues.
  8. Yes, thanks to Atramor.
  9. "Everyone, Back Row, now. We're outnumbered two to one, so we'll be taking Free Hits this Round, no sense in getting massacred. Skrall, you're best suited to take on the Bombsters. Haldor, I'd rather you take on the other Bombster, your Special Guard will come in handy if he trys to slash and scorch you. The rest of us need to take on the Chimaera Guards--Alexis, make sure you target two different Guards, since you're Hastened--make sure to use your Topaz. Skrall, I'd recommend putting Sir Poletad at the bottom of the Battle Order, with Alexis' second action just before him, Haldor's action just before that, and Alexis' first action just ahead of Haldor. Since everyone will be taking a Free Hit anyway, put me up first to try to Stun the enemies and Dyric next to try to kill a few off." Arthur pulls out his own amber gem and casts a Lightning Spell at Chimaera Guard B from the Back Row.
  10. Become a Dragoon and maybe Zeph will let you take Vipera as your dragon.
  11. "Second, for me," Arthur adds. "Hopefully this time Vipera won't sweep you off to go fight a chimaera," he jokes.
  12. Yeah, Pandora's in particular are well-suited, though I really like Scorpioz, Zepher, and Legonater's as well.
  13. What are Phil's stats? If he's a Chaos Regulator, then it's a good idea to have one in each party, but if not, we could swap Hans and Rone and thus have a Lucky party member on each team.
  14. Both are also exiles from their homelands, and both were exiled thanks to perceptions that they now embrace (Arthur because his people suspected him of Chaos use, and Dyric presumably because the new rulers thought in terms of black-and-white, which to them meant Rogues were automatically evil). Actually, that helmet you mentioned in Grogmas Gifts--whether it has the stated effect or not--would be a great way to get Arthur and Dyric talking.
  15. Lyren Hinckwell and Nuitan Shadeaux, and Thothwick and Hoptet. Fabian is attracted to other men as well.
  16. "Triad, Gray Wizard, my question may seem irrelevant, but my curiosity drives me to ask...why have you not availed yourselves of the Training Room of Heroica? One of our Veterans, the Copper Fox, stands more than willing to teach us in new skills--it is the reason I have the skills of both a Mage and a Rogue, why Alexis may summon spirits of the elements, why Master Rone can kill at a single touch. Was this chance to train not available when you were last active in Heroica, or have you simply deemed it unnecessary?" "Gray Wizard, if I may ask, what would the Door we just defended have done, had we failed to defend it?" He frowns as the two targetted Doors are mentioned. "I cannot in good conscience aid the Hinckwells while other options exist. I will go to the Shrine to Mercuito. Perhaps my more Rougueish side will aid me there." Arthur lowers his voice and continues to speak only to the Gray Wizard. "Is there...a way you could teach some of us to recognize these pulses? It may give us a head start in pursuing Wren's forces while we are divided. And where exactly are these 'hidden' doors located? If any are hidden among the Zeigfrieds' territory...well, as the Emperor recieved guidance from Ella to seek us out, a similar source has revealed to me that I must seek the Zeigfrieds. I would aid Triad or our new Dastanian friend in their guard if that is the case." Noting the stranger's eyes resting on him, Arthur gestures Mallelio to join him and the Gray Wizard. He extends his hand. "I believe we saw each other only briefly before the Battle of Drakencourt, as you were exiting on a mission of your own while we Heroes entered the palace. I am Arthur Justus Regulus VII, but you can call me Arthur. I was one of the Heroes fighting the Rogue Lion invasion on behalf of Emperor Alandri, and one of the four to fight the Chaos Beasts Wren sent to capture the princess. Ranger Harkenshire is not with us, but the other two Heroes who fought that fight are: Atramor, who you already seem to know, and Sir Cronk, the Paladin of Ennoc." Arthur indicates the other two Heroes, then turns back to Mallelio. "By your garb, I estimate you are a man of some importance to the Empire, but I don't think we were ever formally introduced. Let us rectify that error. You are...?"
  17. 1. See, this is why it's always a good idea to have a Scroll Mage who can also deal non-elemental damage with Rogue weapons on hand. 2. Question: can Adamantite and Mythril be stacked, or is it a choice of one or the other for a given weapon? Will Anwyl charge the same price to make a weapon adamantine as he does to mythrilize it, or does he charge more for the more advanced service?
  18. I disagree, it's a shame Docken didn't come along, we could have forced him to roleplay!
  19. Gah, CM! I so want to read what you're saying about Arthur, but I'm forcing myself to follow Dastan Rules for things. (Same goes for you with Dyric's backstory, Leg, I really want Arthur to get to hear the whole story sometime, and for Dyric to get to hear Arthur's. ) Also, Thanks Zeph for paring me with Hans, forced me to think hard about Arthur's response (you know, given that Hans is a bit less of an archetype compared to the other NPCs; he's a regular guy, so really all there is to talk about with him are the everyday things, like shared experiences or odd observations about the present). It's helped me crystallize Arthur's mindset about himself and some of the other Heroes (particularly his thoughts about his relationship with Alexis) a little bit better. Interestingly...nah, I won't say it. I will say it's surprising, based on the things he said back in the Hall, since this directly contradicts that; since both feel extremely in-character for him, though, I'm guessing it has to do with a natural separation between hope and expectation. Really nice, unexpected push, Zeph.
  20. "Yes, I seem to recall our friend Vipera whisking away half the party just when we needed them most. I was terrified; only the presence of you and Sir Poletad kept me from losing my nerve entirely. That old rag the two of you gave me serves me well to this day, actually." Arthur holds up his casting arm, and as his sleeve slides back the ends of the bandage fall loose, blowing gently in the breeze. He lowers his arm once more, not bothering to tuck in the strips of the cloth protruding from his glove. "See evil, kill it...a fair enough course of action, but there is a third step to the process. Remember. You must always remember what you fought, and why you fought it, lest you make the same mistakes. There is a saying among my people: 'He who fights monsters...may oft become one.' We are free to shape the world as we see fit, but we must be aware of our vision changing along the way. Visions, paths, even truths change over time, but if you find yourself fighting that which you once were, you are likely walking in circles, headed nowhere. Self-knowledge is key to any endeavor." "My lack of self-knowledge is why I am here. Had I been strong enough, confident in myself to stand up for the truths I had seen, I might have revolutionized my homeland--or at least, when I was banished, I would have deserved my fate, and at the very least would have been taking charge of it. But I allowed sentimentality to cloud my judgement, and my heart and my life were both broken by the woman I once loved--a woman who pursues and torments me to this day. It is my hope that we shall not encounter her, but if we are to gather all of my fellow Chaos-users to fight Wren, then I fear we must ask her aid as well. But if we must, I am ready. I've found new hope, new joy, new light in Alexis, and together we shall stave off the dark." Arthur looks at Alexis and gives her an endearing smile. He is different with her--lighter, freer, less careworn and serious. "At the very least, if we all screw up and Wren wins, the two of us'll be happy for however long we'll have left."
  21. "Shouldn't at least one of us stand guard over the Door? Also, I could use a heal." Arthur drinks another Nostrum, digs with his Shovel, and then uses his Magnifying Glass to examine the spires of the Stone Garden.
  22. Yes, they do, no roll needed. That's why I said that Alexis could take out Beast B on her own, as long as the spirit is put before her in the Battle Order. Also, I think Arthur has one Ether too many, he should be at 25/28 Ether, I think.
  23. ...and on that note...
  24. Upon the hearth, the Veterans find a letter, addressed to Father Grogmas. From whom, it does not say, but there is a note:
  25. "If Atramor goes before me with his flail, we can take down Beast A on our own. Alexis' spirit (in conjunction with the poison) can finish off Beast B, as long as both of its turns are before her own." Arthur casts one more Light spell from the Back Row at Beast A.
