  1. "I'm certain we can do it. If you really think it wouldn't be possible, then just send Alexis, Hoke, and I alone to the Apothecary. Between the three of us, we could (barely) scrape out a victory, thanks to having Artifacts that would help us with Free Hits and Alexis having Scroll advantages."
  2. "Hmm...I suppose. You do realize you'd have to swap out that Talisman if you wanted to wear the scarf. And obviously it'd be best, if you wear the scarf, for you to remain in the same group as Dyric and I. If you still want them, you can borrow them, and if that's the case I'll borrow your gloves." "I'd wish to go to the Hovels, though I would not argue with the Apothecary. Either way, I believe Atramor, Dyric, Alexis, and myself could form a party on our own, while Hoke, Nyx, you, and Skrall would be another good party. Haldor, Thothwick, and the rest would round out the final group." "Also, Nyx, please lend Atramor your Explosive Staff, so that Atramor can lend Alexis' whip to Dyric. It'll be highly beneficial to all of us."
  3. Arthur opens and closes his mouth a couple times, unsure of what to say. Finally he nods, but before he can speak further, the others walk in. Seeing the arrival of Nyx, he presents her with the Ancient Crown. "Here, hold on to this, you'll make better use of it than me right now."
  4. Arthur does have a tendency to be musical. If it weren't for Dragoons being a thing, I'd likely send him to Minstrel at some point.
  5. And the lesson here is: put people to sleep and bind and gag them before you pilfer their stuff. And then examine it with one of every tool and the Cloak of the Elven Spy just to make sure it's safe before you try to take it. Well, the first is true from an outsider's perspective, but I'd disagree with the second; Arthur DOES have a strict sense of honor, he just follows a very weird and obscure set of rules defining it (Blue and Orange Morality). And as to the cravat...well, it's not a cravat, but Arthur's vest-thing is pretty awesome, if I do say so myself. Also, this is purely related to 53, but it's completely OOC and unrelated to battle summary, so: someone buy a few Ether Cores! We're really going to want them later.
  6. In a lot of ways, I think I see Arthur as similar to Miles Edgeworth. Now, Dyric's no Phoenix Wright by any means, but they've got that weird "on opposite sides but not really" thing going on. (Yes, I just finished the first game today, how could you tell? )
  7. Arthur give Rone a funny look. "You and I seek similar things, I think, merely in different forms." Arthur sighs. "Sometimes pursuing destiny is painful. It has been so in my past, and I always thought it would be in my future, but somehow I didn't expect it to hit me so hard. I am still so weak in my craft. A mature user of Chaos would ride with the eddies of fate, be able to take disaster in stride...that is, after all, the whole point of the philosophy. And yet...I feel so...so powerless. And still to know, that, in the end, I must face her? That I, and I alone, am responsible for the redemption of all of Chaos, in the eyes of my supposed 'friends,' in the eyes of the world? I walk a lonely road, the only one that I have ever known. I don't know where it goes, but I'm the only one, and I walk alone. My path is an empty street upon the boulevard of broken dreams; all the while, the city sleeps in its ignorance, and I'm the only one, and I walk alone." "Many people are bothered by their...'inner darkness', their 'shadow side'. The part of them they think is negative. But that's the thing: so-called 'negative' aspects aren't in themselves good or bad; they're just...there. Natural. It's what we do with them that counts. As for me...my shadow's the only thing that walks beside me. My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating. Sometimes I'd wish someone out there would find me, and 'till then I'd walk alone. But now..." the Sorcerer looks to Alexis. "I've finally found someone who's happy to take me as I am, someone I can care about without fearing she'll rip my heart out, literally OR figuratively...and all I do is worry, and cry, and tear myself up with guilt and fear and anguish. I embraced Chaos to get away from judgement...especially self-judgement...so why am I still trapped in it?"
  8. He failed the Violetta Quest, and he pulled...something on Quest 44. He hasn't said what, but I'm pretty sure Benji's in-character explanation was lies. In other news, Arthur's on the verge of realizing he sucks at following the philosophy he's picked out for himself. For one thing, if he were truly a Master of Chaos, then he'd be able to take anything in stride--that's sort of the point. Add to that that a Chaos Master is supposed to be supportive and accepting of others, and soon you see just how far off-base he really is.
  9. Arthur takes the hand. "...No. No I will not," he says quietly. "Assassin, you are as much an enigma to me as Wren is to--well,to us all. You ally yourself to Order, yet you still show...care...concern towards those who do not support it. That is...not my usual experience with those aligned to Law. How can this be? Why do you not join the others in labelling me 'insane' or 'deranged'? Why are you the only one who saw 'hurt' instead?"
  10. "In that case, I'll take a short nap in my bedroll, and I'd suggest everyone else who has one do the same. Skrall, since you don't have a bedroll, perhaps you and Felton could guard the door, in case of another attack?"
  11. The only reason I asked Dyric to use his on Alexis was 1.) It was in-character, 2.) Alexis was one battle away from her next full level (which meant her summons would increase in power, which in turn means 4 extra points of guaranteed damage per turn after she rolls her first SHIELD--assuming, of course, the summoned summon would be dealing elementally advantageous damage, but why wouldn't they be?).
  12. I believe the rule was "if still KO'd at end of fight" in the first place. In any event, Gnash is Still Alive despite being KO'd for BOTH fights he's been in, so I think the rest of us are good. Besides, Zeph DID say that that rule wouldn't be put into place until about halfway through the Quest, and if we're halfway through already, then I'm a potato.
  13. I've gotta say, Capt.JohnPaul, I really like those specials, really creative use of Slowed there! I always like when specials are both reward and punishment at the same time, too (it's why I love fighting/seeing other people fight Chaos Beasts so much).
  14. Fix'd. Also, Dannylonglegs, you need to put Alex at the top of the BO in order for him to take the Free Hit.
  15. No damage. By the way, The_Customizer, I'd recommend that Erdathcath wear only her Lucky Satchel and the Mage's Muffler at this point, and save the charm until later; Sealing is a really, really bad thing for a Druid.
  16. As an avid fan of LEGO Universe, I am not looking forward to this new MMO. Not only has TLG proven themselves unworthy of the trust of their players (c.f. the internal politics behind the sudden closure of LU and the entire mess involved), but people on the development team have explicitly stated things like "we aren't supposed to mention LEGO Universe" and "LEGO would like to forget about Universe and pretend it never happened." It's a shame that LEGO decided to throw the good out with the bad with LU, and I forsee this new MMO being overly-simplistic and "safe", not taking any of the risks that made LU such a great concept.
  17. You'd be surprised how much one's hearing improves when they're actively not speaking. ...or maybe I just missed that detail.
  18. Not really. Costy's Knight-hybrid is... Oh.. Snap. All Costy would need is a nice weapon, and he'd be the new Tensi. It's all good, though, those two always seem to get the short end of the stick on loot drops.
  19. "I see, and what type of creature is she? I couldn't see amidst the chaos of combat."
  20. Arthur nods softly at the Assassin's words. Wise words, indeed, though they came from a foe. Not unlike Wren, he thought. Arthur sat in silence as the rest of the party discussed his mental stability--or lack thereof. Maybe they're right. But I've nowhere to go but forward. He listens as Haldor tries to convince Alexis to leave him and go back to his Master. At last, Arthur speaks. "What was the spirit of your Diamond, again?" he asks quietly.
  21. The Zeigfrieds exist for a reason, people. And yay for Grogmas! Now I can super-effective all but one type of enemy in the game!
  22. Healing undead monsters counts as targetting; I'd argue that for consistency, it should apply to non-undead monsters as well.
  23. His SHIELD will always heal the party.
  24. I believe the case in the past has been "yes" on both counts. Also, shouldn't Aquos' Blindness be lifted if Sylph successfully heals him? You know, thanks to the "removes negative effects" dealio?
  25. Happy new year, all!
