Waiting impatiently nearby is the seventh member of their party, a dark-garbed teenager who glares at the party as they approach. "...why you were training them in the first place?" "Dragonlourd, you of all personnes zhould know why I can non trust--" "Heroes. Running behind as usual, I see." The Dragonlord is the first to look up, but unlike the girl he smiles, a boisterous grin spreading across his face as he sights the Heroes. "Heroes! Good to see some fresh blood in the organization--though of course, a couple of you have done some good work for us already." Dragonlord nods in acknowledgement of Siercon and Kiray, though Count Shadeaux merely frowns more deeply than he already was. "Are you all ready for this adventure?" "Mon Dieu, Dragonlord, you speak like zis is un plaisir voyage and non an imminente catastrophe!" What will the party do? QM Note: Welcome to the Quest, 104ers! Hope you're excited as I am! Please check to make sure your stats are correct, and if you make any marketplace posts, I'll be sure to update these. You have 24 hours to confrim. Siercon, some of your stats were off; if you've used any consumables that permanently altered your stats, could you please link me to them? Also, since you are only Level 6, you can only have one Artifact equipped at a time; I've left the Robe of the Magi since that was what you already had equipped. Daeth and The Chosen Minifigure, you had both included your images as attachments rather than as image links from other sites. I have taken the liberty of uploading them to my Photobucket account (and in the case of Warlen and Quarion resizing them to normal size), you can now use them in the future by typing the following: Warlen: [img=http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii33/poochythegenius/Avatar%20uploads/Warlen_ava.png] Quarion: [img=http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii33/poochythegenius/Avatar%20uploads/Quarion_ava.png] Daeth: [img=http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii33/poochythegenius/Avatar%20uploads/YujiDaethAva.png]
  2. You know, I really underestimate how much of English comes from French...
  3. Sorry for the delay, 104-ers, I'm in the process of formatting your stats right now.
  4. Trust me, you won't be thanking me later.
  5. Could anyone identify for me the cape, face, and hair used on the minifigure on the left in this picture?
  6. Sorry, Dharkan and Wedge, I would have loved to have taken you to Dastan, but unfortunately a Level 20-odd Hunter and a Level 14 Rogue would have been a bit much to deal with on this one as far as balancing for Level 1 Heroes.
  7. Glancing out the window to see the rays of sunlight heralding the dawn, Dragonlord nods to Count Shadeaux. Both men rise, shake hands, and go their separate ways, the Count producing a small cloth-wrapped staff before stepping outside and the Dragonlord heading to the Quest board. Chosen Heroes for Quest #104: Ace Assassin: Dual Dragoons Warlen Melimane, Level 1 Mage (The Chosen Minifigure) Siercon, Level 6 Mage (Siercon and Coral) Actaeon Artus, Level 1 Ranger (Actaeon) *Party Leader* Yuji Daeth, Level 1 Cleric (Daeth) The Demon Germ, Level 1 Rogue (samuraiturtle) Kiray Nastay, Level 4 Knight (KingoftheZemkp) Diana N. Justus, the Ace Assassin, Level 1 Assassin QM Note: Welcome, everyone! The Quest topic will go up at about this time tomorrow. Take this time to make any last-minute preparations, and we'll be on our way!
  8. Indeed, I'm just about to announce the chosen Heroes, just as soon as I complete a couple of last-minute preparations.
  9. You still have a few staves, right? Those should still work for Archmage, right? EDIT: ... I wonder if this isn't the first time I've forgotten to add my Quest reward to my stats.
  10. Or it was removed. Masson Drops: 5x own head ...I'm not sure what's wrong with my thought process today, but the results so far have been glorious.
  11. Kayla came back as a player character flashback. Arc Fatigue, man. Kinda robs the Whams of their sting. (Also, TV Tropes Will Ruin Your Vocabulary, apparently. )
  12. You Bore Me - Because of the staggering oversaturation of daggers and longswords in the universe, all enemies on the Quest are immune to damage from weapons of those types. Actually, I believe Jebs did use Slashing/Bludgeoning/Piercing in 35, albeit only in one battle. (Was still a really cool fight, though. )
  13. I was referring more to the accusation they made that Heroica was more interested in the goings-on of the outside world than in fixing things back home in Eubric, but that's another good point you bring up (that's been brought up a zillion times before, but is good to remember especially considering this is a discussion of what we need to do to revitalize the RPG moving forward). It's funny, your bad villains and the Wolfgang share the exact same weakness; they even have that one sole exception (Aquos and Kayla) who were promptly killed off in short order.
  14. Because otherwise it wouldn't make the accusations of the Wolfgang fall quite so flat.
  15. I actually have something like that in one of the optional battles of my Quest, though in that case it's more to do with the logic of the setting (and thus applies to all enemies in that fight) than with the specific properties of the enemy. That said, multipliers just make more sense.
  16. I feel like Boomingham could challenge you on that. Oh, come now, K-Nut, don't you know that Bumbles bounce?
  17. QM Note: I'm so sorry, I completely missed this! Current Sign-Ups for Quest #104: Ace Assassin: Dual Dragoons Warlen Melimane, Level 1 Mage (The Chosen Minifigure) Siercon, Level 6 Mage (Siercon and Coral) Actaeon Artus, Level 1 Ranger (Actaeon) Yuji Daeth, Level 1 Cleric (Daeth) The Demon Germ, Level 1 Rogue (samuraiturtle) Drake Flamerobe, Level 11.5 Knight (xxlrocka) Isabella del Toboso, Level 14.5 Rogue (Dharkan) Kiray Nastay, Level 4 Knight (KingoftheZemkp) Alexander Vandangant, Level 23.33 Hunter (Wedge09) One day remaining! "How's it going? Boringly if you ask me. I've only been here a day and already I'm sick of this place, how can you Heroes stand being cooped up in here so long?"
  18. Hey! Leave Denerii alone until after [REDACTED], 'kay? ... ... ...I have retroactive stage fright.
  19. + one for "too Lucky" being a bad thing. A better option would be to either give the skill some sort of cost to use (maybe it eats a random Marketplace-available consumable or two to make the Mixture?) or else, as previously suggested, to just make the Mixture roll immune to Lucky and Jinxed entirely.
  20. My problem is that I have tons of ideas, but little ability to build. So if someone wanted to donate a place to build and a few thousand dollars worth of bricks... In all seriousness, though, a lot of that is my problem as well. There's tons of builders in the history forum and Historica that I'd love to work with, but I'm too intimidated to approach--it just feels like asking them for help with Heroica would come off as weird, or at least would be a hard sell. Heck, Siercon and Coral are part of this game and enthusiastic about building for it, and I still get intimidated talking about building with them. That said, even though that part is a personal issue, a closer interaction with the History forum might not be a bad thing--there are dozens of incredible MOCs in this forum that the History folks never get to see. A little bit more cross-posting might help remind them that we're here, and lead to both more players and more skilled builders joining.
  21. I think part of this also has to do with the prevalence of long, dragging Quests and story arcs. Heroica moves slooooooooooooowly these days, and it seems to be getting slower. It used to be Heroica was like Mafia Lite--a firm commitment (though slightly less than mafia) that lasted for a month, maybe two (slightly longer than Mafia). Now, though, it's common for people to be gone for three, four, or even six or seven months at a time. Even just checking in briefly once a day (which is far less than ideal in terms of engagement), that's a HUGE commitment, and more and more players have found themselves unable to commit to it. Thus, we lose players, and few new ones come to join. Furthermore, with most of the players we have consistently off on Quests, there's little to do in the Hall, since there's rarely anyone new to talk to. What we need is new characters, but not necessarily our second characters. What we need is more new blood, and perhaps a change in design and thinking to bring them in. Let's mitigate the Arc Fatigue, wrap up a few of these dangling storylines, and kick the plot into high gear, lest we lose more current players and even more prospective players to the Chris Carter Effect.
  22. Maybe it's just because it's late and I'm tired, but I read that as HP boots. Then I realized that the boots from Dota 2 could be REALLY cool if we adapted them to this game. For example, the so-called "mana boots" become: Arcane Boots - +5 max Ether; wearer may gift Ether to other players. For every 1 Ether gifted, the receiver gains 2 Ether. While the Power Treads might become: Power Treads - (grants +3 to wearer's WP, SP, Max HP, or Max Ether, changeable only once per battle. Footwear, suitable for anyone) (Obviously just a couple of quick examples in need of major tweaks, but you get the idea--Dota 2 is a great game to mine for ideas, particularly for those less - common categories like boots and gloves.)
  23. Aside from Poletad, everyone on that list is dead. because of Atramor Unless we somehow killed Poletad since then by not finding his cameo or something. We haven't heard from him in a while, I actually miss the little guy.
  24. Speaking of Endgame's finale, good luck to all who go! I don't think I'll be back in the Hall for it, and even if I was I might be too busy cooking up other things... (Plus, I'll be damned if I miss ANOTHER Pandemonicon Quest. )
  25. According to the Blu-ray commentary, some of the backgrounds (i.e. the cityscape behind Emmet when he's about to call the cops on Wyldstyle near the beginning) are real, while the characters are digital.
