  1. First of all, is that the term for the part/mechanism that separates one wagon from the other ? Well, that's what I would like to make. Has anyone ever made something that could automatically separate one wagon from another (without you having to hold the wagons/engine)? Something connected to the track that when the wagon passed over or stopped there the mechanism would separate that wagon from the next? When I played with my HO trains as a kid there was a special track section where you pressed a lever and a little flap would come up under the wagon and release the hitch between two wagons. That was in the 70's when everything was mechanical, but if I'm not mistaken with HO nowadays you can even do that remotely, so I was wondering if something could be built for L gauge.
  2. I find it amusing that everyone bends backward for accessories from BrickArms or BrickForge but get all riled up if someone mentions using a part form a clone brand .
  3. Cool, I'm looking forward to see your work.
  4. Whoa! That looks great! Do you plan to use them in a diorama of sorts?
  5. Fantastic, thank's b'n'b! AFOLEGODT idea solves my doubts about how to fit the LEDs in the front. I was sure it would be easy to rout the cable under the battery, but I was having trouble to find a way to stuff the LEDs up front; those L tiles are a perfect solution to create the space! So ok, I got the LEDs installed and the cable routed, so I connect it to the second socket of the IR receiver. How do I turn the lights on with the remote, I have to use the second dial of the controler? But what if I'm using the controler for a second train on the same rail? Or will the lights turn automatically on whenever I move the train? Or are the lights permanently on?
  6. Sure am! I'm already looking forward to my hext acquisitions . I looked around but didn't find anything. Has anyone ever installed lights in this engine?
  7. Now that's a Juggernaut ! Impressive to say the least. Makes Lego's stock model look like a VW Beatle.
  8. My kid is going to flip when i show him this... But come to think of it, I'm not totally sure if it's a good idea to show him this. He has a very fertile imagination.
  9. This, and the fact it has manned guns on the sides, will make it hard to resist for me . I don't know, if it's all that I might even sell my 7676 - I like the ship, but not enough to have two.
  10. The lateral bubble turrets are not controled by indivual gunners? That's exactly what I was looking forward to, since the #7676 doesn't have that feature.
  11. Awesome! Thanks!
  12. I know we haven't seen many pics of the new Republic Gunship, but compared to the older 2008's #7676, will it be significantly better? I mean, will it be better to the point that it's worth getting even if you already have a #7676?
  13. If I did the math right, I have ~32%. Could I get the tag please?
  14. DanSto, that was really nice of you, thanks! Would anyone have an actual pic of DanSto's model next to the UCS version?
  15. I got the AT-RT (#75002). Meh .
  16. You did it for only 400 bucks?!? Wow, I'm impressed. I was thinking it would cost something from $1000 to $1500 in total.
  17. I really admire youy guys. This is fantastic!
  18. R2. Not that the X-Wing is worse, but I think the R2 is more striking (since I already have a X-Wing).
  19. Ah, there they are! Thanks ronenson!
  20. I looked everywhere (or at least I think I did) and didn't find anything about this here in the Train Tech. Is it possble to get the specific train parts and then use them in a LDD project? For instance, if I wanted to create a motorized loco with PF parts. If so, where can I find this database? I'm using LDD 4.3.
  21. Sounds great! If I had a good enough parts bin I would try something.
  22. Aha, with missiles! Now we're talking! Double !
  23. Whoa, Sava's MOC of the T1 looks beautiful!
  24. Clever, but not very easily done. Plywood is easy to work with, but to make accurate cuts (and that's the word of order here) you can't use hand-held tools. Unless you have access to the right tools it would be tough to make a lot of pieces.
  25. Sorry . Every way you try to yank the battery out it pulls on the spring. Lego, of all compoanies, to make something that is not easily servicable ? I'll have to try your method. You're absoluetly right . I have in the past had some huge hobbies that demanded a lot of patience, money and work. I'm in a phase in my life where I don't want to get stressed out for nothing. One of the things that also held me back with HO was that I knew I was going to fret about the hobby (again). As you said, with Lego you just take it apart and put it back together again. Maybe you should introduce your friend to L gauge .
