Pretty cool shot! The principal reason that I'll never buy a set this size is because I wouldn't have where to put it after assembled .
-
Very possibly this is going to be my next buy, once I receive everything that is on it's way to my house .
-
According to the Encyclpedia there's only one variant of Ceremonial Han, with white pupils. So if the book is to be believed, a figure with dot eyes means a swap.
-
Very nice improvement! Where will you store that monster?

My favorite ep of that season too! Pretty cool!

Buying the books and having fun with them is for us normal geeks. Finding the errors is for the uber geeks .

MOC Minifig Scale Scorpenek Annihilator Droid

Yep, the only issue here (understandably) is the colors, the rest is spot on! -
Holy mercaptans Batman, a working press!!!!! Awesome!

Yeah, you're right. I forgot that I paid $21 on my Encyclopedia at Amazon, but that was with shipping. So it makes more sense to get the whole book instead of just the figs.
-
Just did a quick search on BL and you can have Luke for around $8 and Solo for $10. Not bad at all.
-
If you want just the minifigs probably it would be cheaper to get them on BL. I can't really say about Han, but I sure remember seeing some store offering Luke for a not-absurd price.

A couple of weeks ago I got "Star Wars: The Visual Dictionary" and yesterday I received "Star Wars: Character Encyclopedia". Pretty cool, both of them .The best IMO is the "Character Encyclopedia", because it has more info and is more up-to-date. "The Visual Dictionary" is nice, but it only shows sets up to 2010 and the pics of the sets are a bit sparse for my tastes - I would rather have seen (WAY) more pics. Still, it brings a wealth of info on SW sets in general, and I hope a more updated edition comes out soon, though I doubt it will be out before the end of 2012, if ever. On the other hand, "Character Encyclopedia" covers up every minifig up to now, and it even shows at least some of the variants, so for a minifig collector I think it's an invaluable asset. A cool thing about the books are the special minifigs that come as a bonus: Both "Ceremonial Han Solo" and "Ceremonial Luke Skywalker" are only available through the books, and are a very nice addition to any SW fan who collects minifigs .

I was musing exactly about this just half an hour ago. I am (finally) assembling my Juggernaut tank, and was wondering what was the reasoning behind what parts they put in each baggy. Not counting the assembly order of course, using different colors when possible makes the whole building process much easier, even if you previously separate all the pieces before you start out. At least for me, I sometimes have a hard time distinguishing between black, light gray and dark gray from the pics on the booklets, so different colors facilitate a lot finding the right piece.

Awesome! That looks terrific!

Fantastic review, thank you very much for sharing! I'm soooo glad I held back on buying the previous model, since at least in my eyes this is a real improvement. I agree that for owners of the previous model this may not be a must-buy, but for those who don't have a big x-Wing yet, it's a must . About the astromech being sideways, what is better, that or only using the head like in some of the Jedi fighters ?

I would expect the Empire to have a more strict hair cut regulation. -
Though I'm VERY tempted to get the Gunship, the TT is out of the question for me .

[MOC] Star Wars Home Made Advent Calendar

Fantastic! I don't know if I liked more the vehicles or your display . -
Kiel, "building it myself" would be the best option out there: DIY and get a kick-megablocks model when your done . But being from Brazil I would have a BEAR of a time to get all the necessary parts, so unfortunately I have to rely on the "pre-made" version. Still, I think Artifex's creation is sexier then Princess Leia as a slave back in the day. I just wanted to hear from somebody who had actually seen in the brick that piece of awesomeness .
-
Does anyone here have this moc from Artifex? I've seen one or two videos of it and was quite impressed, but would like to hear some personal opinions on the model.

Link to Artifex's Flickr page
