Oh man, how embarrassing. :-$ But I now realize some things I hadn't before, in the detailing you can do with Illustrator. Strider's wristbands, for example, have great details that really bring out a sense of realism. And on that same token, tattoo work could be really cool under a more detailed perspective such as overlapping colors! The possibilities are endless! It's too bad about that deadline, because I'm eager to see the next fig. But I suppose work comes before play, right? :-/

You are very welcome! I'm honored to be first. :-D 2.5 tries, eh? Sounds like there might be a story to tell there. :-P I agree that sometimes things you create can be fun to give, especially with such a great response you are sure to receive! Oh man, your most recent is so cool! 8-

Oh wow, Hinckley, that custom minifig looks great! I've always wanted to create decals like that, and it looks like you've pretty much perfected it! :-) I would have never thought that was your first using that program. That would be generous of you to make it the prize for first place, as I don't think I could part with such a great looking fig! *y*

Welcome to Eurobricks, Ajax! Always a pleasure to meet another Castle fan. What have been your favorite factions or series? Information Science, what does that deal with?

I just purchased Town plan and Rogue Shadow from S@H, and am now (anxiously) waiting for them to arrive!

Haha that was a good (short and to the point) read. I loved the line about the Megabloks CEO saying 'legos'. But that is kind of an insult that he would make the accidental comparison. I have owned several of their sets, and big ones too. I had nearly every one of the original Dragons line, from the big ship, to that huge maroon castle. The pieces just do not fit sometimes, or they are too loose, or break upon insertion. Even the people crumble after a short while. And don't get me started on those hands. >:[ BUT back to the article, I found it interesting that so many media outlets picked up on the 50th anniversary, though not surprising. It makes it a lil easier for people like me to point out the legitimacy of LEGO to others when it is on GOOGLE and The Onion, and Yahoo and all these other places. Just another example of how much LEGO rules!

I cannot grasp the detail! There are apartment style mailboxes under the archway leading to the backyard, which has its own excitement. I love the swiveling chairs on the roof and the backdoor. IMO, this blows CC out of the water.

These are too sweet! Unlike the older minifig packs, these revolve around a single faction, so those of us who don't want any more skeletons don't have to have them when we buy our beautiful crown soldiers. *wub*

These sets all look terrific, even the magna guard fighter that I was previously unsure of looks fantastic! My only gripe is that there aren't more troopers in the sets. Maybe because the line is focusing on the characters of the series and not on the 'build your army' aspect.
-
No way!!!! I can't believe my eyes! Leave it to TLC to make an already perfect set even better! This surpasses CC in my book, but they'll still look great together!! :-)

That is a really good point. I have previously been thinking soley of the figs and wacky storylines that could come out of an elf faction, but the architecture aspect could be really cool, just like the forestmen buildings were.
-
Oh my goodness. If I wasn't so sure I just wet myself I think I'd be jumping around right now. :-D This set looks absolutely remarkable. How freak'n awesome! Words can't describe the beau... ANYWAY, a def. must buy for any LEGO fan regardless if you are collecting the modular series. I do, and it would be a cold day in hell before I even hesitate to purchase this. *wub*

I'm not sure if anyone else has solved this yet, but I think in Mission 4 the objective is to rescue the agent hanging above the water. It was a lil hard to see what that small pic in the upper right was, but it looks like the person who's trapped.

Hmmm, I am in the mood for something new, so I wouldn't like forestmen, and elves were kind of like them. With the new female peasant in the advent calendar, I am growing more on the idea of civilian sets. Maybe not a horde of them attacking, but certainly a lil militia could be neat. *wub*

I'm not so high on the vehicles, but I love the direction LEGO is taking in the minifigs! The man with the chainsaw arm is so cool! The torso on the spider-like legs is just fun for the fact that LEGO would 'go there'. :-D I love this line, if only for the minifigs alone!

PICTORIAL REVIEW: 0148 Forbidden Cove (Enlighten version)
Kliq replied to swan45's topic in LEGO Pirates
Oh man the captain's pants are missing. I seriously laughed pretty hard while looking at those pics. How embarassing that he's running around fighting the Islanders in his red underwear. :-$ Maybe he's out to get some of their leaves. :-D -
I am loving the Mars Mission ships. The only set of the line that I bought in the first wave was the glorious dropship. This new large ship is unbelievable. It is true that LEGO seems to be reverting back to the past on many of the designs in its latest offerings. Though while I am not a fan of the treaded things in MM, I am a sucker for vechicles that seperate into multiples. :-$

I voted for the Republic Captain because I always love it when LEGO customizes minifigs specifically for a certain set like the Cruiser. I voted for the Good King because he looks great, and has a PRINTED (regardless if it is a reused piece) torso underneath his armor. I voted for Bane because he was just a badass looking minifig. I voted for the Mars Mission Astronaut because they look really good IMO.
-
I voted the Star Wars Rebels as the best minifig of 2007. They have been so long awaited, and they delivered. Not only are they super cool, *wub* , but they are proof that LEGO is gonna keep pumping out battle packs with great figs, especially since the battle pack is currently the only place to find them. For the worst I voted for the Mars Mission Aliens. With only a hip joint they are horrible to pose, and can't do very much besides be impaled. I think their color is good, too bad their limited mobility had to ruin it.
-
I voted for MicVash maybe because I love the gore, :-$, or because I just thought it was more funny. Either way they were both creative! *y*
-
That's what I'm worried about. Already so many put-together sets are sitting in corners on the floor due to lack of space, and now this huge set makes its way in. I'm gonna have to start migrating into other rooms. :-D

I voted for Castle as the best new theme because it truly was a rebirth and not just an extension of KK2. I also voted for Castle as the best overall theme because while Star Wars had some really cool additions, especially the MTT and the USC models, I just don't think I could vote for a licensed theme as the best theme, especially when Castle went above and beyond my expectations as pure LEGO.

I got a 10179 Millennium Falcon for Christmas today, along with other non-LEGO things of course. I didn't even attempt to begin building it yet as I'm waiting for a day without activities so I can concentrate. X-D

Either way its a small mistake in a set that looks very cool, IMO. I wonder why that knight is holding onto a stick and chain attached to the wheel. Surely he doesn't think he could stop it himself. :-D
