  1. Trying to make a close as possible movie accurate Commander Cody so he's melmetless until they make an accurate phase II helmet for him. While it seems that the buzz cut hair piece would be the logical choice for hair it looks weird. Any body else have a more accurate suggestion?
  2. True, I hadn't thought about it being the only $20 set. It is the only other current set where Bad Cops hover thing is relevant but yeah my idea would mess with a set that was great already. Maybe my gripe could have been fixed is Bad cops hoverthing was released as only a $20 set, no bridge. The bridge/train scene was cool in the film, but that part of the set is a very tiny version of its movie counterpart, and not in a good way like Cloud Cuckoo. Why beef it up to $30 when you already have 4 or 5 (we can kinda throw Metal Beard's Duel in there) sets at that price range. I highly doubt that the bridge was the selling point on that set for more than a handful of people,(I suppose it's a great way to get those zig zag support beams and alligators) Obviously It didn't stop me from buying the set and its only a small annoyance.
  3. I just finished trying to arrange all the lego movie sets on various shelves for temporary display. Most areas I have for display are roughly 1x3 feet, so I have to decide what to put with what. I have all the Battle of Bricksburg citizen ships together, all the micro managers + evil lair + melting chamber together, cycle chase by itself, and seacow + cloud cuckoo + glider on a dresser. That last one being the ones that didn't fit in with anything else. Then there's the bad cop pursuit. Does anyone else feel that this set is a bit on the unneccessary side? Obviously I'm glad they made BC's vehicle, but I think that they should have made the vehicle and Cloud Cuckoo land into one 30 or 40 dollar set. The bridge part is silly, and I'm having a heard time fitting it into my display.
  4. I think CMF series 2 fig the Disco Guy is a prime example of a yellow fig that could easily be a number of races, however I do agree that figs primarily portray a white stereotype. As for Vitruvius, who knows, but I'm glad they did it.
  5. Anyone else notice the discrepancy between the instructions and the box/instruction cover image? The little fake cannons on the sides right behind the side turbines sit one brick higher higher in the instructions than they are in all the pics. It's a simple fix, but it is rather rare that the instructions have that big of a difference from the models cover art (a difference of structure and not simply smaller "accessory" components rearranged for the visual effect) The set is amazing!! Loads of fun to build and ripe with details. It's cool how much stuff they crammed into the cabin, and there are even some little hidden areas of the ship that contain even more treasure, built in a style that reminds me of the treasure from late 80's early 90's castle and pirates sets.
  6. the $250 price is directly from employee who had the job of putting the price stickers on the boxes. Other countries prices aside, 2700+ parts and many large ship parts 250 is certainly reasonable.
  7. Very minor spoilers below. People keep mentioning that Friends minidolls and sets were not seen in the movie, but they were in the little slideshow of "worlds we don't talk about" Friends, Speed Racer, Bionicle, and Fabuland.
  8. Back of the Sea Cow box!! http://imgur.com/1zmnOMJ Also according to a Lego employee $250 USD alas it's a bit expensive.
  9. I believe at a certain point in the third act metal beard is the version that we will see in the sea cow.
  10. Yeah the newer vader, (body at least) has only been in 5 or 6 sets and only 1 has been under 100 dollars. ( ader's tie from 2009)
  11. I really have to hand it to lego, 10 days until release and hardly a leak on the Sea Cow, other than one very poor quality pic, and two less than informative behind the scenes shots, their getting very good at limiting pre-exposure.
  12. Have there been any pics that show what/who is in the smaller black spaceship that goes with Benny's?
  13. I could see it being $200 in the states, that makes the conversion close to that of the Simpsons house.
  14. Just to clarify I'm not referencing the leaked catalog entry for the set. There was a catalog cover that had the ISD in "about to abduct the Tantive IV" looming mode where the whole underside of the ship is clearly visible. It probably does look nearly flat in person, but there is at least a slight angle where the sides come up. Found it
  15. If anybody remembers the pic we had of a retail catalog with Anikan, we have already seen what the bottom of the ISD looks like, it does not sit entirely flat, just flatter than the previous model.
  16. Not sure if this has been mentioned, but all the sets are 20% off on TRU website, the firefighter mech thing is only $55
  17. Correct me if I'm wrong but by this time last year we had seen the UCS X-Wing yes? Or even months before this? They must really want to keep the secrecy this year, whether it's the Sandcrawler or something else.
  18. Haha, I wrote Star Destroyer, I meant Death Star, the 2008 model.
  19. Kannan Jarrus sounds like Can 'n Jars. A very silly name indeed. Also yes, please please please lego, let the figs appear relatively the same as normal figs!
  20. I think I saw in this topic that the Star destroyer now comes with numbered bags, Does anybody have a break down of where lego breaks up the set? It'd be nice to not have to rebuild with all bajillion pieces at once
  21. I'm hoping the clone is a movie version of the 501st. Best way for them to distribute it without a kill all the younglings vibe. Hopefully there is a helmet in addition to the Santa hat
  22. wyrm12, if you are indeed referring to next year's winter sets, it is faaaaaar to early for that news We haven't even seen clear no prelim pics of the summer sets. 2015 leaks won't be showing up until September/ Oct at the earliest, and as many have said, since there's a good chance these sets will be Rebels heavy, we may have to wait even longer on the details. Sit back and enjoy this year, there are sets we haven't even seen/ heard of yet, (ie. this years UCS set is still possibly unknown if it isn't the sandcrawler or a Slave 1)
  23. To all those unhappy with the line-up of figs, just remember ho well Jabba's court has been fleshed out with a few add-on sets. The palace itself only included Oola, Bibb, Salacious, Leia/Boush and a Gamorean, but be got Fett, Weequay, Rhee-Yees, Kithaba, Max Reebo, Kithaba, Malakili, Slave Leia, Guard Lando and the Rancor in the complementary sets. It does seem like the cantina set would be the only chance to include Ponda and crew, especially given the presence of the bar itself, but Lego may surprise us, how many of us could have forseen having all those above figs just two years after Jan 2012????
  24. Also someone correct me if I'm wrong, but 4483 is the largest of the three previous incarnations.
  25. I was 9 when the first prequel was released, I have grown up to enjoy the OT far more, but the prequel sets hold a level of nostalgia to me akin to what the 30 and over crowd have for the OT when comparing them to old Kenner toys. Like many others have said lets remember that lego is made for children, an eight year old of today grew up in a world where all 6 movies already existed, it's all star wars to them.
