The Curse of IMHOTEP - Day Two
Scubacarrot replied to Pandora's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I am sorry to be nitpicking, but I have to disagree. Although Tomato did never get a chance to protect himself after the onslaught of waves he got at the end of the day, there were questions and accusations send his way during the day, which he never responded to, as far as I recall. Although Percy was not the most active people, there were defenitely less active people around, (perhaps including me), Percy did raise some good questions, most notably his suspicion of Mr. Gordon Bennett. To come back to Percy, why was he killed? Did he get too close to uncovering scum? Did he accidentally reveal his virginity to a cultist? Was it a random kill from the scum? Are the cultists trying to make it look like it was important, because of Percy's clear suspsicion of Mr. Bennett? Because one could argue that his death gave some suspicion to mr. Bennett... -

Percy and Tomato never got second chances? What do you mean, exactly? (forget it if its just flavour.) What is Bizarro? In any case, the story about 'forgetting' to send the night action in seems thing, to say the least. Especially since there wasnt a time limit until you could send them in, as far as I know... Right scratch that last bit, there is. -

I urge our cook to look at the updated rules, and the win conditons as layed out by Ossie and Is, the Cultist win condition, specifically. The 3 dots stand for a number, I am sure. -

I just had a thought... The cultist's goal is to sacrifice virgins, correct? I guess this is a specific number?? I can't imagine how else it would work... What if we could deny them that oppertunity, by letting our virgins be killed by other night kills? I realize this plan is crazy and would take away a possible kill of a cultist, but it would effectively limit the chance the cultist's have to sacrifice the virgins, and get closer to their victory goal. -

Okay, this is not great . I am going to go over what was said and done on the first Day, then I will give my detailed thoughts. No, it says he was 'sacrificed', and according to the cultist's win condition, they need to 'sacrifice' people. I think it is safe to assume the cultists made that kill. -
Guts nodded, "You killed someone that stood between you and freedom, just doing his job. The guy probably had a family of himself..." After slipping out of thought, Guts continued: "Anyway, what Ive learned about guards in my life, is that they are expendable, abundant and ignorant. I once had to get information about this mage, so I decided to 'question' the guard of his mansion. The sod had already lost a toe and three fingers before it was clear he did not know anything. Not my best moment, heh... I suppose you were'nt thrown into Eubric's prison? I must have been thrown in that place a dozen times. Mostly for murder and public intoxication, but i've always escaped before they could hang me. That place is as secure as a paper bag in a rain storm."
-
"Aw, man. I just started to like that guy! In all seriousness though, good for you, kid. Must be tough, knowing that your actions might not be your own, like you are being controlled, by someone else, do you know what I mean?" Taking a sip from a new bottle of wine, put on the table by the orc mistress of the hall, "So, kid. When we were in that blasted mine... You mentioned that you were in prison. For what? If you don't mind me asking."

Guts looked around the hall, he had came back from the Arena, and as promised, he had gotten drinks for Sarick and himself. Guts had a bottle of fine wine, and Scheherazade had given him a bottle of what smelled like a mixture of salt water and alcohol, but was thicker and darker, for Sarick. Guts looked around the hall, he saw Knifk and the barbarian he saw in the arena sitting at a table, drinking mead, Guts wondered what made mead such a popular drink? It was easy to make, and cheap, perhaps that explains it. He also saw De'kra sitting in a corner, seemingly lost in thought. Guts had heard his name from Sarick. Apparantly the short rogue had defeated Sarick with relative ease, or so he was told. Since Guts himself had lost to the naga, Guts couldn't help but gain some respect for the guy, even though he had never spoken to him. At the bar was a strange figure, clad in metal, seemingly sleeping. Guts was just pondering wether the guy was just careless or broke, to fall asleep in a bar, when he remembered he was in Heroica Hall, no one would pickpocket in here, would'nt they? Also seen was Nerwen, who was apparantly reading a book. Guts nodded to his party leader from the last adventure (He was unsure if she had seen it, she seemed really into that book), and then walked towards his old table, and sat down.
-
Guts got up, after the cleric healed him. Guts stretched his muscles, the boy was a good healer, but he was still feeling a bit cold. Sarick's magic was more powerful than Guts had thought. It was... interesting to be defeated in battle after so long, and Guts could not even remember having lost in a fair fight, not that there had been many of those. The arena was certainly a useful place, good to settle disputes, or just practice. Guts smiled, perhaps he could even fight the cocky Norse pirate here, without being hanged. Guts looked forward to more fights in the arena, but perhaps it would be wise for him to get one of those fancy throwing stars, or 'shurikens' as people here seemed to call them. As Sarick slithered past him, Guts grabbed his arm, and said: "Well fought, Scaly, thanks for that. Perhaps I needed that lesson. Loser gets the drinks, right?"
-
"Bloody mages." Guts once more attacked Sarick from the front row.
-
(I should have full health now, right?) "I knew this piece of magic scrap would be useful! Scaly, come at me!" Guts runs towards Sarick for a final attack from the front row.
-
"Gods damn it, Scaly, Get out of that back row!" Guts felt his body temperature cooling, Sarick's ice magic was quite effective, perhaps he would be shopping for a warm coat after the battle. As a final act, all or nothing, Guts attacked Sarick from the front row!
-
Hmmm, fair enough, I guess. @Brickdoctor You didnt restore the health :)
-
"Lets do this the hard way then, Scaly!" Guts launches another cautious attack from the back row.
-
Rogues are obviously the weakest class in the arena, maybe it can be helped to change the special class rules you are using, since its different than the normal rules anyway.
-
Sure, but this is a game, and it would always give the 2 ranged classes a better chance to win in the arena, and that is bad game design A way to fix this would be to remove the rows from the arena, a suggestion.
-
Hmm that seems hardly fair, since it would mean a ranger or mage would always do twice as much damage as a melee class of the same power :/
-
Wait hold on, this seems weird, so Sarick hit me for 7 damage with a spell, from the back row, halfing the damage, to 3 damage, quartering that because Im in the back row, it would be 1 damage, rounded down. I hit him for 7 damage, halfing and quartering for back rows, making it 1 damage too. Correct?

The Curse of IMHOTEP - Day One

Looks around for a deep well. Uhm, alright, this better work, I still think that sacrificing the captain would be a safer, if not more logical course of action, (not to mention, better for the article!), But it looks like thats not going to happen, so I am changing my vote to break the even. Unvote: Captain Roger Goodenarde (Professor Flitwick) Vote: Father Tomato (Ricecracker) -

I find it odd that there are so many people just swaying votes so quickly . The Captain is claiming to be someone who can identify wether or not someone is a virgin or not at night. I am not going to go in detail to ask how he does such a thing, I do not think I want to know, but one thing strikes me as odd, that no one seems to have brought up. Sure, he could be the flavour cop, but who says he is not still a Cultist? Am I the only one that thinks this could be the case? Think about it, it would make sense for the cultists to have someone with that ability among there midst. At least more sense than it would be for the innocents. The only reason for the innocents to have one of them would be to verify claims, which seems somewhat as limited useful. (All this could be dismissed if there is no 'standard' investigator, but I think it is safe to assume there is one.) I am not changing my vote, Captain Roger is still marked as suspicious in my imaginary book, maybe even more so after his role claim. -
Guts jumped in the pit, and performed a cautious attack from the back row.
-
Guts grins. "Alright Scaly, I accept your challenge, Lets wait until Knifk and the barbarian are done."
