  1. Guts walks into the Marketplace, his eyes betray his soberness. The raider spend the last few days working on his new ship. The co-owners hadn't even bothered to show their faces. He was taking a break, and decided to stock up, should a mission pop up. He started at Portia's stall, and bought: 6x Smelling Salts (6x25=150) 5x Nostrum (5x35=175) 5x Mead (5x15=75) 6x Remedy (6x10=60) 6x Grand Potion (6x10=60) Total: (150+175+75+60+60= 520) (921-520= 401 Gold Left.) He then stopped by Fabian's, where he had the Opal from his Armour unmerged, at the cost of 50 gold. (401-50=351 Gold left)
  2. Hey, "Diplomacy" is a whole different trait as well, different from Diplomacy and Intimidation that is. And I kind of agree with LordoftheNoobs's sentiment, I am eager to get in the game again as well. It's been like a week since Guts has seen any action! I hope with the return of Quest 53's heroes Quests will follow!
  3. That was a joke.
  4. I should read 19 again, then. But we know that becoming a God is an impossibility, so that doesn't count. To Guts, she was just another crazy mage, I guess. Honestly, I think most of the Heroes were just after her because they want Playthings and Cookies.
  5. So. This may seem a bit stupid, but what are Wren's actual crimes, besides making a lot of threats? I mean, she did enough to be killed over, but I feel like she never actually did something that really gave me that "Oh no you didn't!" vibe. I feel like I am missing something.
  6. Announcing you are a traitor still makes you a traitor.
  7. I think you should not give Arthur a share for being a dirty traitor.
  8. I think that issue was raised when Quest 39's signups first appeared, and we figured since it wasn't happening then, there really wasn't any reason to suspect it would be happening. Perhaps some people want to quest with each other, but that's fine, I think, and I think most people would also really like to quest with a lot of different people anyways, so I don't think that's a problem we can/will be facing. And if so, we can say: stop it! And yes, I think a combination would be best, but as far as I know, quest 39 was the only one, and we had almost 25 after it, so...
  9. I proposed nothing punishinglike that . What I proposed is more quests like 39, where the party signs up as a group, so you basically choose your own party. My reasoning is 100% roleplaying between characters, nothing else.
  10. Not exactly. Of course Guts wouldn't have known, he didn't, he knew Eric was an arrogant Nord with a high view of himself, but he did not distrust him or would be opposed to questing together. He did not like the Nord, and his actions showed Guts that he may have had an ulterior motive. Guts still doesn't know if that was really the case, other than he had some business with Reno before and therefore didn't want to kill him before. But: Would Guts be willing to quest together with Eric again or would he even work together if assigned together? Not a chance. You're slightly missing my point. Characters that have ulterior motives or go against their quest goals in a non-breaking way, I think that's awesome, do it, absolutely. But make characters able to respond to that by saying: "Yeah... I don't trust you, so..." Character knowledge is always key. I am sometimes pushing it, I know. But I play that in a way that Guts is a good judge of character. (sorry, it's bad, I am aware) I don't think the real life example works, because the situations you are talking about are going to be work or school related, and are always going to have the same goal, more or less. If someone doesn't do their job in these cases, there is going to be some form of retribution. If it's more serious than those situations, there's also retribution. But in Heroica we are talking about situations that cover life and death in a lawless society (sounds lame, heh). So it's a bit different Naturally, although I don't really believe we have seen someone that goes against this, honestly. Again, WBD, you slightly missed my point. I absolutely loved Khorne's way of playing in 58, tension (whatever the kind) is the best drive for roleplaying. If everyone had the same ideologies it would be boring. (So we agree? Yes. Yes. Yes. See? Boring!) But what I propose is (more of) a chance to let the differences show by future quests.
  11. I don't understand what you mean actually. Quest 48's current situation is a good example, Arthur's behaviour before being knocked out and Eric's refusal to fight are recent examples too. Not saying it's bad, opposite, things like that are awesome, especially in Quest 48 where it's built into the system, but to me as a roleplaying guy, it doesn't make sense: "Oh that guy that basically tried to kill us earlier, yeah, we are cool with it that he's tagging along" And as an employer: "Hm, this guy tried to kill his last employer, he's perfect!" That is true, but it may also reinforce that people will have to have their characters interact with others to be able to get into a quest, perhaps forming interesting character relations in the process?
  12. I would like to see more quests that work like 39, where the Heroes have to sign up as a team. Currently there are no reprimands for basically completely going against your employer, your fellow heroes and everything Heroica is supposed to be standing for. If there is the (roleplaying) reason that Heroes would in character perhaps not want to deal with certain others, there could be some feedback to doing something you perhaps shouldn't be doing. I feel I am not explaining this very well, but more sign ups as a team would be good!
  13. Speaking of tvtropes, the place where hours magically disappear. I would love to see a complete list of tropes for characters, not going to do it for Guts, way too much work, but would be pretty cool.
  14. Did he do something heroic though? That is required for the trope to work. If he didn't do anything Heroic/redeeming, it would be more of a Heel Face Door Slam.
  15. Why is it so quiet in the hall...
  16. I'm still waiting on the Killer Bunny with the Friends Rabbit...
  17. Hm, I thought so. Brave sir Guts he ran away!
  18. The Job trait deals with obstacles, nothing else. You know nothing about Guts's fleeing, with dancing shoes, he will moonwalk away, he will boogy off in the sunset! The creative power behind his escape will be worthy of song!
  19. Also, sometimes story progression or gameplay trumps "using traits". Sure, if the villain is standing on some scaffolding, a mage could easily break it and let him fall to his death, but perhaps the QM wants to have you battle him, so it would not be allowed. Same with that situation. I gave you hints it wasn't going to work, as well. Also: if mages could sink enemy ships that easily, why doesn't every ship have a mage casting fireballs. That's what I was getting at.
  20. Actually I believe I said it didn't have much effect on the wet hull. It wasn't creative. If something is incoming, trying to shoot at it before the battle isn't going to be working out. It'd be the same if Guts would throw a knife before the battle had started, would it be allowed? of course not. This. Mostly this.
  21. That's not creative though.
  22. Which would mean they actually turn on a friendly NPC, that's great!
  23. Host boat parties and stuff, most likely. And no, it's mine! (for a third... )
  24. Physical = with force, so a weapon, non-physical = spells, healing.
  25. I don't think you can still target the enemy with a melee attack while blinded. Never seen that anyway.
