  1. Suddenly, the Raider got up from his thoughts, and said: 'That must mean there are other entrances to the Temple under Eubric. The place should be locked away, there are powerful demons locked away there. if the wrong people found it... We could have another Demon-driven war at our hands."
  2. "Resides under Eubric... It's almost sad, if you ask me. I'm no fan of dragons, but others I have seen could fly, in the open sky. To be locked away in a cave, the bond with her Dragoon must be very strong, for a dragon to accept such fate."
  3. So basically I'd have to meet Gurnam. I'd be okay with that actually.
  4. "Wren..? But I see, met the dragon? Quite a personality, isn't she? I wonder if she remembers the gift I gave her. I'm unsure, but it might have been the most valuable thing I have ever owned, and I have been a merchant-prince, hah! But through it, we managed to make a girl happy, save a kid and kill a necromancer, defeat an incarnation of one of the three demonlords and all that good stuff, guess it was worth it." There was something strange about Guts, there was no need to keep to himself... Was he becoming like Lawrence Boomingham? The raider's face turned sour at that thought.
  5. And I'm just going to ask this again, am I allowed to sell the Metasimian Ale for 300 gold (to the store), it's an item I created, that was apparantly able to fetch 300 gold according to an old drunk. I never intended it to be reused, but I got one through the Grogmas gifts. I'm unsure of the proper course of action here. How would they? Remember they only protect against attacks specified as being elemental (e.g. certain specials) Not enemy types.
  6. Yes, sorry, I just realized. Going back a page is hard, okay.
  7. "How's that?"
  8. That's my tactic. I expect royalties. Nevermind. I'm stupid.
  9. Empty handed, Guts returned to the hall, he had stored his stuff in what used to be the captain's cabin, it was not like the other two owners of the ship were there to argue the point with him anyway. The walk with the ogre had been surprisingly pleasant. Guess people don't bother you as much with a brute like that at your back. The raider was surprised to see his table cleaned and empty. That was right, the charm that subtly directed people the other way was gone too now. With a small smile grazing his lips, the old man sat down at the clean table he had unconciously considered home for the past months. Would this be his life until he'd die? Doing jobs for whoever, coming back to a loud hall with a stiff drink, sleeping on a ship. While that sounded terrible in his head, Guts was strangely okay with that. There was no need to run anymore. It had been more than eighteen months... It was funny, with that in mind, he wasn't sure if it was right to keep being Guts Holla... A fake name, a fake persona, but did he not become that person? Could he still go back to being... whoever he was before? The raider smiled again, and said in the direction of the Assassin: "Visited the oracle, have you? I visited the Temple of Zoot, it's an actual place, surprisingly close to here. I'd take you there, but there's a lizard in the way that hates me."
  10. Too slow again, damn you Pie, one day, one day... Imagine, everything you'd do would be without negative consequence!
  11. Don't worry about it. It was Xarzann's choice to give it to Jeb, and he knew En Sabah Nur was a scroundrel. Wouldn't be surprised if it was planned either. Anyways, I don't care. It's within Jeb's rights to do that, the item was given to him.
  12. "Not yet, but she might be of help with that heroing. Thanks again, for your help. I would offer you a look on board, but I don't know if the walking plank will hold you, no offense. Just acquired her a few days ago, you see..."
  13. "They aren't? I don't rely on brute strength to defeat my enemies, I'm too old for that. Rather I strike quickly, and often, and with precision. Much like a dancer, hence the shoes. And it is as you've heard me say against Rone, why strike, if you can evade and still win? We are here." They had walked quickly, and had arrived at the docks, where El Alligaléon was anchored. Several places revealed that it been prepared for a new paint job, and the name was almost unreadable from the many sanding Guts had done over the last few days.
  14. The raider swings his bundle on his back, and went out the door, heading towards the dock where La Alligeon was docked. "You probably hear this a lot, but you're not what you'd expect, from an Ogre, Skrall."
  15. "Dyric Rone. Good to see you're still alive, too."
  16. "I thought so. Thanks" Surprisingly quickly, Guts sorted and folded everything of import into two bundles, before picking one of them up, the Raider held out his hand, and said: "They call me Guts around here, Guts Holla."
  17. En Sabah Nur is the worst.
  18. "Same here, same here... And no, but the hall doesn't offer any lockers. This table is as good as any to keep my things. It has a tendency to pile up. I do have a place to put them now, now that you remind me. It seems I will have to make a trip to the docks, sooner or later. Care to help me carry?"
  19. "Sounds like you are either talking about getting married or about revenge." His mouth formed a thin smile, then he continued: "Try not to get too focussed on one thing, I guess. I've made that mistake many times, and never did it work out well. Take comfort in small things, and try as hard as you can on the rest, that's the best you can do." Guts shrugged, what was he? A priest?
  20. "The Hall's furniture is sturdier than it looks, I've seen it survive several barfights, as well as some rampant magic." Guts chuckled coldly, he asked: "Rough day?"
  21. "Hm, it sounded more like a demand to me. There are plenty of chairs and stools, choose another one." Guts hovered his hand over his table, where his equipment laid around, the table was filled with empty bottles, dozens of papers in as many languages, sharpening stones, enough metal and leather armour pieces you'd say you could outfit at least five men, a bundle of several clothes, the raider's bag and bedroll, and several other bits and pieces. "Feel free to take a seat here if you'd like as well, I won't bother you, don't worry." With that, the Raider crossed his hands, and looked at the Ogre with a piercing gaze.
  22. Guts rolled his eyes as an Ogre attempted to scare a gnome out of his (well chosen) seat. Apparantly there was a grape shortage, and (good) wine was hard to come by, or so Scheherazade had told him. The raider wasn't sure if he believed her, but what could he do? He had gotten a flagon down the street, but it wasn't nearly as good as the Hall's usual. So Guts was sober, and in that state, the days in the hall were long. Guts was waiting on several items for his ship, before he could continue with it, and it'd take days for it to arrive, they said. From his usual corner table (the one with the best view over most of the hall, and the least possibilities to be surrounded, while still having decent escape routes), Guts said over to the gnome: "Stay seated, I've never seen that guy at that table in all my time in the hall. You, Ogre, mess with someone your own size."
  23. Callmepie was quicker.
  24. I just want to add to the praise that I thought that the interlude system was amazing! I only supplied the picture for my part (Zeph did the dialogue), but it was really cool to me to see the different interludes and have something a lot of different QM's have worked on. Great idea, Zepher!
