Oooo! Nice! I really like the Police raft, mainly because I love the raft piece. And it includes the new hat in white! As for the others, the plane is wierd (I'll give TLC credit, it is a new-ish promo idea) and the Police buggy is nothing we haven't seen before... Thanks for the pics!

This set looks great! Like others have said, not as "Wow!" as the Toy Shop, but still very nice. I love the little details in this one, especially the skater legs in the snowpile by the ice rink. I am excited to see pieces in the new md. orange-brown and the new Castle doors. I also wish there was a bit more innovation with the figures (i.e. the Carolers in the toy shop) as these just seem like variations of common City figures . I also think a re-release of the Toy Shop is very likely, as a couple months ago, it showed up on Target.com, albeit out of stock... Merry Christmas in July!

Well. I think that this is a great set! I really like the cockpit area, R2 unit, and sloped SNOT pointed tip! I probably won't buy it when it is released, but I would buy it on sale... It's nice to get some UCS sets that are greatly detailed, but don't need their own room to display!

This is great! The new Slave I is far to expensive and I already have the 2006 version, so I won't be buying it. However, if TLC released a version like this, I wouldn't even consider not buying it. I'm looking forward to seeing it with the new figures!

Probably because I've never heard of him before, and that says a lot... I'm looking forward to the rest of the review! If I could have the motorized version with this sets figures and accessories, I would buy it in a heartbeat...

It's also possible that it is a highly detailed scale version of the Starfighter and Hyperdrive ring. With the recent UCS sets with figures, I think this is also an option. Lego could easily do a nice ship (Likely the AotC version)and large, detailed ring for $100 USD...

According to FBTB, Lego will be unveiling a new Obi-Wan Starfighter. I'm guessing it will be UCS if they are making this big a fuss at a convention...

He's going to have a fun time trying to convince a studio to let him do that... I'm sorry, but if Lego wanted to do it, they would have with this movie. And Lego isn't going to do it considering they have the Disney license...

Both are very nice! The grafitti would be perfect on the side or back of one of the modular buildings!

I usually prefer the figures and sets equally, but I have bought a crappy set before just for the figures. If there is actually a more recent surge in popularity of minifigures, it's probably because Lego has vastly improved the quality of them over the past couple years. Increased back prints, leg prints, and even arm prints, have all contributed to this.

Get the Emporium. It's so much more worth it than this and you will be much happier. Thank you for the review! This set looks nice, but looks to be worth $30-40 less then Lego's asking MSRP. I simply don't understand why this set costs so much. I would buy it if it was a lot cheaper, but this price does nothing for me. Add TRU's markup- I would never even consider buying it. However, I am glad a lot of you seem to be happy with this set, it was long awaited, I'm just disappointed that most of you are going to be robbed of your hard-earned money.

I can see it being a end of the year Target exclusive. TRU already has the snapper set as their exclusive.

Thanks a lot for this review! It's very detailed and thorough and will definitely be a deciding factor when I eventually contemplate buying this set. The set looks nice, but has that missing "Wow!" factor that it had the potential to have. This type of set has been long awaited for the City line and it is slightly disappointing. That head has been in 55+ ( !) sets since 2005 according to Bricklink. I'm really getting sick of it...Lego has shown us they can make some very nice face prints with the Collectible minifigure series- I just don't understand why they can't add some of that variety to their actual sets...

It's just the meaningless bumps that get people yelled at...If they are for a legitimate reason, then you are usually fine.

Well, for one, I'm sure that's exactly the type of person their parents warn them to stay away from. I really hope that Series 1 gets another run, as I only need two more to round out my set- the "hairy old coot" being one of them....

Thanks for the review. I had to do a little digging to find this review, but I'm glad I did. While I think that the design of the Kingdoms line is better than the previous Castle one, I will miss the color schemes, unique figures and general feel of it. I'm not totally in love with the red color scheme, but I do really like the beefy feel of this set, namely the front gate and back tower. The I really like the roof of the tower. The figures of this set are great.While the king and his army are nice, as usual, I'm most interested in the Dragon knights! The dark green and dark pearl grey combo is great! I really love the new armor print for the Dragon knight in this set. Sorry for bumping this, but I had a few things I wanted to say (and I thought it might be useful to any others who might be considering buying this) Thanks again for the review!
