When I saw the New Galaxy Explorer 10497 and the alternative builds, I started imagining all the old sets modernized. I started with crafts once I understood the technic and I searched long time to find my own building style as there is no such thing. Here, I'd like to show you my modernized vehicles, in the style of the buggy from the new Galaxy Explorer. I only have one concern about this official buggy: they forgot the antenna >< lol Here is my version of 6823 Surface Transport :-)

I figured out to rise the building on a ground elevation, with a rocky side, and add a level. I'm thinking to add something underground. Connected or not to the building atop of it Thanks :-) my intend is to put it on Lego Ideas. But I have a looong way to go

That's inspiring idea! Silver could be nice, but it would be the first metallic color? That's a cool and creepy possibility. It could bring a twist inside CS :-)

Well, I remembered having broken and misaligned helmet. I was young. But I was not thinking of a worn out minifig, but someone who crashed on a planet, or with a robot arm, something part of the theme and not a real world damaged one.

Not really a new color but I would like a "dirty" or damage suit, to bring some pirates, renegades or lost explorers into Classic Space. But maybe that's too much out of the way

I got your point, I guess the style back then ask for such thing. Thrusters are short no matter how you look at them, and so on. On top of it, I tried to make the small ones as short as possible, and the bigger one as packed as possible. Because it was like that back then. At least that's how I visualize them I have other crafts in my scratch book, a long one called Galaxy Express for example and this one should fit more your esthetics ^^

Last rumors I saw, the black ship isn't Blacktron. It would be something around Pharrell Williams

To be honest, the building is giving me headache >< I tried a couple of things and it doesn't took nice. It's smaller than I thought once the crafts are around. Well, I'll put updates :-)

Hello everyone, I am deep in my new set, a Classic Space Spaceport. The crafts are almost done (since some time actually) and I need to put all together and make the spaceport itself. The "big" shuttle, 3 passengers with options inside to turn it into an automatic cargo : Two small crafts, I guess I can't be smaller within the limits of this style/technic : And I started a complex building, it's early stage. I have an issue with the size of the whole set, I am on 3 baseplates and it makes me worried :-/ The 3 crafts are equipped under with a rail system (I am striving to make that), they don't have landing feet. I based all of this from two classic sets : 6970 Beta I Command Base and 6971 Inter-Galactic Command Base

I don't know the futuron theme, but looking at your creation makes me want to learn about it, it's really a cool city :-) More photo please?

Very nice set, I love the feeling it gives. The base architecture is smart. I'm not so much into Mecha, but I can still appreciate the technic :-) Blacktron is very inspiring

Ice Planet and Blacktron have a cool strong color set, there's definitively things I'd love to do there. I need to get the grasp of the shapes for them, I just can't visualize them yet. But I have a full note book of sketches for Classic Space, so the rest will wait unless I need a change for a while ^^

There's actually a few sets from the Classic Space era that are all grey with a green windshield. There is the X1 Patrol Craft 6861 I used here, but there is the Heavy Payload Spacecraft 1968, Gamma V Laser Craft 6891, Solar Power Transporter 6952, Lunar Scout 1580, and the Alien Moon Stalker 6940 with two rockets that are not to launch satellites. But having an updated ship with parts from others triggers a lot of ideas for my next models :-) Maybe a smuggler's craft they fixed/improved with what they could get theirs hands on. Sounds fun ^^

I will never be able to build it myself, so if by any chance someone make it real, that would be amazing. There would be other ships possible with a green windshield, that colour is Classic Space too, that would be nice to have it, I agree. By the way, I tried it blue yellow and grey, and it doesn't look nice at all ><

Hello everyone, I received the Galaxy Explorer (the original one) as a birthday present when I was kid, and yes I am old ^^ I am still a huge fan of the Classic Theme. It's hard for me to follow the next themes that came up after, but Blacktron sure has an attractive design (but I don't get what the shape idea is for them). I have always been looking for MOC on the Classic Theme, I guess some like me would love more than the New Galaxy Explorer. The buildings of Classic Space had only 3 walls. I read once that there must have been an energy field, I just think they removed a side to be able to play inside, while today they make foldable or opening roofs. That's just the possibilities offered today. They did with what they had at that time. If Lego Space should be revived, it shall have to include such feature, just like they did with the Knights. But maybe it would be targeted at "old" fan like me. They have a range in Lego City for space already for the young ones

Hello everyone, I'm an engineer at work and a lego engineer at home. I love to design MOC on my computer because first I don't have any space to use real bricks, and 2nd I have a baby that would love to take them and eat them... I love to create, my favorite them is Classic Space, I would like to share with you my creations, done or in progress. I am happy to show it, and even happier to get feedback.
