What 08 sets will you buy? Or not buy? Why so?
Dovchenko replied to Justin2224's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The RGS and the AT-TE. I have to disagree with JimButcher on the RGS - poorly designed? It's a pretty practical set if you ask me, with great figs like Asajj, Cody, Koon and Kenobi. I love the speeder bike, very good idea. The AT-TE is awesome too but lacks any interesting features (but it's still a must buy!). There are no special things you can do with this set, only the armour plates opening and closing which aren't even supposed to happen of course. This kind of gets me mad, but it still looks great and comes with the other half of the CW movie figures I'll need, EG a battle droid, awesome BLUE STAP, and Rex. Otherwise it's the usual boring/annoying figs, like that crappy Rotta. I might get some of the 30$ ones too (fighter tank, droid gunship, homing spider droid) to have some droid resistance and more clones. -
Canada's being slightly beaten up by that 500$ price, but I'll still try my best to buy this set...
-
Don't mind the long hair but I do mind the 700$ CAN price tag and really want to give it to LEGO for not keeping up with exchange rates.

Goblet of Fire. I only got the Graveyard Duel however I saw the Merpeople set up close as well. Wish I had boughten them, especially with that awesome dragon. And buddy... if anyone's a little less intelligent than others...

Yes, enough talk about big bricks and bulging blocks. Not that I'm not a fan of the ladies (not that there's anything with not being one... not going to get into detail), but hey, there are more important things to talk about, such as "where the heck did Peril in Peru go?!". -
Three times in a row it's been the same supporters- of "VOTE CALVIN!". Over and over and over it grows. Let's make this the last time of hoping, wishing for a better tommorrow/no Calvin!

Best... response... ever. Added to my sig.

Damien, however, decides that it would be best if he took a sample of this magnificent breakfast. Rather than visiting the lavatory, he does not eat it and takes it upstairs, suspicious. He soon discovers that the "well browned potatoes" are more than they first seem, and is glad that they went through a "second run" when they were brought from everyone's stomach into the toilet once again. Damien isn't quite sure what the red sauce is yet, but it is a "salty concoction". The green egg was from the deformed chicken in the nearby farm, and the bacon was just plain soggy bacon. The weird blobs of screaming oyster were, unfortunately, screaming blobs of oyster. So Damien requests to the high and mighty Lord Dragonator- may you PLEASE stop Majiko from making his "specialty dishes"? PLEASE?!

Damien: Day's over. Many dead. Both unneccesary losses. Majiko: Quite agree, but that chef had such an ugly face tha- Damien: Vote Calvin the Fisherman/Atoll Dweller Calvin the Fisherman/Atoll Dweller: What the hell was that for?! Damien: You stink of fish. Majiko: You two are both whacko... I think it's safe to say that Calvin the Fisherman deserves to die... don't you?

What New Themes or Sets would you like TLG to make?
Dovchenko replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Can't say I'd like to have a Nintendo Theme. But if anyone's ever played Age of Empires III, maybe something sort of like that. No, I don't mean having Aboriginal oppression. But historical... something that's actually interesting unlike half the garbage we get nowadays. I don't think it's too much to ask for something like good old classic space again, either. Maybe we could have some western, easily my favourite theme of all time, even though I got one set... not to drone. -
A very good Vig, works very well to show their escape (from the scene that I now forget). Loving the mini palm and the tipped-over obelisk. And Marion's face, with brown eyes? Nice.

What faction from Castle do you represent?
Dovchenko replied to Dovchenko's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Glad to see that you represent the elves in such a manner. But we must stay on topic knights! -
The HP Dragon Wins, which I guess has to fall in with those stupid new <insert that tiresome argument> Dragons. The banana claws, awesome wings and not very articulate but still very interesting body are for the win. It also comes in a fairly reasonable set with great figs (I don't mind BURPS for some reason).

Vote Ash. I haven't been able to keep up with what's going on, but I'll just vote for Ash like Shadows because of him becoming a global mod. Congrats!

"Sorry, dynamic pages in the tags are not allowed" The written part of the review is completely finished but what's this crap? http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=3233587 My brickshelf, if you can maybe understand what's the matter.

You're new and everything, of course, but remember... resurrecting can cause problems for some mods. Welcome to the site by the way though! I bought the set and actually, I was somewhat disappointed. Good figs, but not enough. Where are the Hovitos? The Ugha would have made better Hovitos, for sure. There were few real "mechanisms" other than the temple and the truck and stuff. The design was... well, a nice concept slapped on 4+ pieces with the use of the same sort of pieces... over and over and over and... you get the picture. The plane was neat, I wish the set was still intact though.

Poor Short Round.

You know what? Lego Castle needs more sets for 2008!
Dovchenko replied to Dovchenko's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I feel like I'm playing everyone short here. I do like Clone Wars, but I'm worried it will be another Speed Racer. Some people thought the movie was good, sure. But overall it was poorly recieved. If Clone Wars is poorly recieved, I don't know how interested I would be. I guess Castle DOES have enough, with the chess set and various sets. Seeing as this issue's easily resolved, let's twist the idea a little bit... if LEGO had added more, do you think it would have been a wise decision (to make castle galore like last year had?) or would it have fizzled? -
Crushed by taters, eh? Sorry. Seems as if another loyalist has fallen... Damien is unsure what to make of this. Nevertheless, it is a horrible loyalist loss. I believe we should all be more cautious with the traitors around. Maybe I'll sit down for a while... revel in my drugs... and... Zzz.

What 08 sets will you buy? Or not buy? Why so?

The AT-TE, Republic Fighter Tank, Homing Spider Droid and the Droid Gunship to make one big battle scene. This gives me: CLONES -AT-TE -Republic Fighter Tank -2 clone troopers -tank pilot clone -Anakin Skywalker -Ashoka -Commander Rex -Commander Fox DROIDS -Droid Gunship -Homing Spider Droid -STAP -2 Battle Droids -1 Super Battle Droid -1 Commander I love the EU addition (the fighter tank) seeing as I'll be getting the red PSP and eventually Renegade Squadron on Friday for my gr. 8 grad. This'll give me a great force with 4 leaders, 3 troops and two vehicles to occupy. The perfect defense force, with a very versatile opposition with one leader. Just as droids to chop up, of course. -
That thing not only looks deadly, but it feels like a work of art. Lots of guns, bombs and good ideas here; I'm just loving your incredible designs and art styles.

I like the look of this, the combining of a lot of SW features to make one amazing set. But still, everyone trying to be "reasonable" about the price needs to really stop. 399.99 American/499.99 Canadian is 100$ too much. Look at the Death Star II UCS: cheaper even without the sale, and still only 400 less pieces. The figures? Sure; expensive, exclusive and difficult to make. But all of this petroleum talk... like seriously. It's expensive, so deal with it without the big explanations: it's a wonderful set that's highly reccomended if you can afford it.
