  1. Dak signs up for Quest #40, relishing in the rare oppurtunity to perhaps find out more about the heritage of his mysterious friend Guts. Knowledge is power, after all. OOC: Sorry about being gone for a week, guys, a family member of mine recently passed away. I should be around from now on, though.
  2. Awesome! I've been trying to buy a Twi for ages. So...If you haven't already sold it, I'll take it off your hands.
  3. OOC: Forgot Dak.
  4. "Nice....Very friendly..." Dak says, sardonically. "I'd be fine with that arrangement. Just stay out of my way when we're getting info, if we have to. I don't want to soften 'em up with no Diplomacy crap. Intimidation is the best and only way to get someone to talk, even if you have to beat them to a pulp to do it."
  5. "You know what, I give up," Dak says, and crosses out his previous sign-up for Quest #39, then writes that he will go with anyone. He walks toward his table, grabbing the heads of Johon and Drake and banging them together as he does, the loud clang of metal on metal echoing through the vast space. "Stop fighting or I'll beat the hell out of both of you, he says in their direction, still walking.
  6. Ouch. Are you gonna max again, or not?
  7. Never go into a Trench without a large train, with at least a few 6-8/8s. Otherwise, you die. Period. Too many of my chars have died that way, I tell ya....
  8. Agreed, but IMO, this movie differentiated itself from the comics quite a bit. Lizard was no longer a crocodile in a lab coat, who strives to be Spidey's equal in almost all ways (climbing walls, smarts, etc.), he's now a cold, calculating monster who has his own skillset that doesn't derive from the original, but he doesn't use it in the same ways. Also, just like the Dark Knight film series, I really loved how they upped the realism with the villains, making Lizard less of a dinosaur and more of a human/lizard hybrid, with the humanlike face and stance and reptilian scales, nose, eyes, and tail. Yeah, I agree. Although I hate the new comics Spidey a lot more than I hated this one, so any sequels to this movie would be well recieved by me. I miss Parker already, because now we get a wannabe kid Spidey. I tend to think of it as that Connors was forced back into the recessions of Lizard's mind by the animal intent of the creature he had become, but it was more like a splite personality situation, where The Lizard got Connors' smarts, but also some of his humanity, which caused him to give Gwen a chance and also to not kill Spidey near the end.
  9. Ah, shoot. And here I figured I would pass on the B-Wing...... guess not. Looks great, besides the canopy,.
  10. Yeah, I watch 'em all on Netflix. Favorite series: Enterprise Favorite movies: Can't say....probably the 2011 Star Trek movie. Favorite character: Lieutenant Tuvok Favorite episode: "Terra Nova" (which also happens to have been the title of an amazing TV series on antennae, which was, unfortunately, cancelled. )
  11. "Yeah, all while fighting, arguing with, bragging at, and (in my case, on Quest #13), crying at each other.
  12. ....Sounds like the Cave of Ordeals from TLoZ:TP. I like it.
  13. "Last I knew, you didn't work well with anyone," Dak sneered, a touch of cold malice creeping into his voice, eyes blazing with inner fire. "It's just that you work with me especially badly."
  14. Ah well, since everyone's doing it...... What Dak loves: People who love him, victory. What Dak hates: Men and women who conceal their emotions, any town guard. What Dak fears: The loss of a loved one. What Dak believes: Your faith isn't your life, and you shouldn't let some unseen dieties guide your life for you. What Dak values: Loyalty, friendship, and most of all, independence. What Dak wants: To show his mettle in combat and finally win the respect of largely-standing Heroes in the organization. What Dak knows about: Deceit, darkness, the harsh realities of war. People who made a difference in Dak's life: His mother, who died when he was young; his older brother, who showed him what it was like to become a true hero, and Guts, who showed Dak what people living on the streets were really like. Discoveries that made a difference in Dak's life: His mother's body, that dieties are real. Decisions that made a difference in Dak's life: Running away from home, choosing to live on the streets of Eubric for a few weeks rather than staying in the comfort of Heroica after Quest #20.
  15. Gah, noooooooo! Sold all my Life today to max a Rogue, and ended up dying at O1 to a Ninja. RIP, 3/8 Rogue.
  16. "Hey, you were the one picking up people left and right to go on the Quest with you. Besides, who else do you suggest?" Dak waved his hand, indicating all the unfamiliar people in the Hall. "I don't have anyone else left that I know. I suppose I could take off the names from the list, but I'd rather not be doing anything for the Watch of any town, no matter how far away it is. Way I see it, that quest is my only option, and you are basically my only option. Hell, I had to pick the other name out of everyone I saw in my line of vision, and then look 'em up in the records. I could invite Dyric, but really I doubt he'd accept. Plus, for some reason we keep signing up for the same quests. I just figured I'd play it out of my own will this time, not some freaking diety's."
  17. When do you usually play?
  18. And thus, the lowly bandit is buffed to Lvl 60 with 2000 HP...... He needs to be, to survive that.
  19. OOC:Same here, just let me do some shopping at the Marketplace first. IC: Dak silently walks back towards the Questboard, and signs up for both Quests currently available, with the preferred party in Quest #39 being himself, Guts, and the Yeti Barbarian who was nearby, Nagure, with Guts (once again) as Party Leader. "Sorry about this, old man, but I need to get on another Quest, and that seems to be my best chance, and you're the only one I really know around this place," Dak breathed, writing the names with neat script.
  20. Yup, although I get on at times no one else would, around 11 Central/midnight Eastern.
  21. Erm..... Sorry, but...Black Knight, not Raider, remember? Although, against a Humanoid enemy, a Shield with that sword could do wonders for Dak's attack abilities, especially if he gets those other three shards of Mithril he needs to have a full chunk.
  22. Dak stepped back into the hall, wearing his new chainmail, which shone softly in the light flickering across his face from the windows. His eyes glowed a deem red now, and his gaze chilled all those whom it touched to the heart of their souls. He was now, indeed, a force to be reckoned with. His eyes played across the faces of Guts, Alexis, the half-elf ranger, and several others quietly conversing, finally settling on a Rogue, encased in cloaks and smelling of musty crypts and old bones. Dak walked towards him, and the Undead Hero didn't seem to cringe away like so many others, although it was hard to tell beneath the cloaks what exactly was going on. Dak looked at Sorrow for a long while, perhaps searching his "face" for some sort of recognizable emotion, then moved on. Finally, he ended up, once more, in front of Alexis, Benji, and now Guts. His eyes travelled from one, to another, to the last, and back again. He only uttered two words, and his voice was somewhat hoarse, like he hadn't been using it in quite some time. "I finally understand." This sentence was mostly directed at Guts, but the others were in Dak's thoughts as he spoke as well. Dak moved on, without a backwards glance, and out of the saloon, into the living area of the Hall.
  23. Dak walks into the Training Room, an air of vague confidence about him to hide the apprehension inside, knawing away at his innermost fears, of rejection, hatred, and most of all, love. He finds himself standing in front of a rack of weapons, armor, and shields, although he didn't remember walking there. He knew he had to change his style if he was going to shake off the influence of his corrupted family, and the other Houses. He shook the Shadeaux Shield off his arm, and replaced it with one depicting a roaring dragon. He picked out matching chainmail, and a blackened, long sword replaced his dagger for practice. So immersed in his quest for equiptment was Dak that he didn't notice someone approaching until a weathered, battle-scarred hand rested on his shoulder. He jumped, spun, and whipped his sword, eyes blazing blood-red. "Whoah there, fella. Didn't mean no harm, young one," said the Copper Fox. Dak slowly put down the blade, and his eyes faded back to dull brown. "I assume from your choice of equiptment you wish to train as a Black Knight, then?" asked the Veteran. Dak nodded, mutely. "A Shadeaux as well, I see from your choice of insignia." Dak, confused as to what the Fox meant, asked: "What are you talking about?" The Fox nodded towards Dak's new shield. "A dragon. Only suitable, considering your family's symbol is draconic as well. You didn't intend on this to happen?" "No." "Ah. Completely a slip of the mind, then?" the Fox asked, a hint of mischief twinkling in his eyes. "A subconsious connection to your family?" "NO!" Dak roared, eyes once again flashing red. "I AM NOT A PAWN TO MY FAMILY'S GAMES! I WILL NOT BE CONTROLLED BY THEM, OR BY YOU!" Tendrils of darkness energy swirled around the boy, as his inner turmoil between his loyalty to his family and his loyalty to himself finally began to show through. The veins pulsating black on his limbs burst, spreading insubstansial darkness through the air like a cloud. All that could be seen in the Training Room were Dak's blazing eyes, ignited with an inner fire that was showing through, tendrils of red and orange licking the air around them. Then, just as suddenly as the darkness had appeared, it was gone, and Dak collapsed to the floor, heaving great breaths of air, eyes fading once again, but somehow feeling more at peace than ever before. "Exellent," the Copper Fox chuckled, clapping loudly. "We'll make a true Black Knight of you yet, son." But Dak wasn't concentrating on the Fox, but rather, a point behind him, in which a strange and ethereal figure had appeared. Seeing Dak's concentration on what was, to him, a patch of air, the Copper Fox stepped away, gratefully turning the stage over to whatever divine figure was appearing in the boy's eyes. Dak continued staring, as a vaguely female shape appeared, and then suddenly, with a *pop* sound, blinked into existance. "Argh! How do I never get those "divine appearance" things right?" a teenage girl sputtered angrily, popping a bubble of something pink and strange in her mouth. "Well, actually, this is my first time appearing to my one follower," she said, to no one in particular. As Dak was the only one who could hear her, she huffed angrily, blowing a stray patch of hair out of her eyes. "Okay, like, Dak, I know you've never, like, seen a goddess before, right?" Without waiting for an answer, she plowed on. "This is, like, my training assessment to become, like, a true goddess, you know? Not just a dopey old initiate with one follower, no offence. So, like, it would be really, like, great, if you could, like, not get yourself killed, alright? 'Cause I'm seriously depending on you here, 'kay? No pressure, of course. Byyyye!" And with that, she was gone. Dak shrugged his shoulders, a bit disoriented. He strode out of the Training Room, true confidence pouring from his every pore. *Awaiting freaking camera to work for picture* Dak, Level 15 Black Knight HP:30 Pwr: 25 (20 for ranged attacks)
  24. "I was raised an Elf...blood doesn't matter, it matters what your mindset is. I know Elven, I was raised by my mother's tribe of elves for half my life, and I can shoot a bow just as well as any other elf. I just...chose to follow my father in my profession."
  25. I'm assuming you don't.
