OOC: I have already read both, thanks.

"Hullo, Haldor," Dak says, relieved to get back to his usual country accent. Speaking formally was such a pain, but he had never felt comfortable enough around Guts or any of the other Heroes he had Quested with to shift out of it. "'Tis nice to meet you. Hullo, Tesni," Dak says, nodding to the large woman. "Yes, I wound up Questing with Guts....twice. Not a pleasurable experience, believe me. He was alright at times, joked a lot. But then something someone would say set him off, and he would get back to insulting and demeaning people." Dak noticed De'kra for the first time, exchanging words with the purple-clad woman and another, taller Rogue. "Hullo, De'kra!" Once again speaking to Haldor and Tesni, Dak says, "One of the Quests failed because Guts chose to betray us, helping a woman who had tricked us and a man she had set free escape. The second one was just trekking through a mine, much less of a meaningful experience. We did get to fight several bandits and monsters though, and I got a bit of good loot. Other than that, though, nothing exciting has happened for me." Dak laughs as Haldor speaks of his brothers, but inwardly, he is anything but happy. The wall in his mind still hasn't broken, despite his best efforts. "I...I had someone like that once. A brother, I mean. Damn it!" Dak shouts in a fit of rage, slamming his fist against the wall, not even caring about the pain that comes moments after. Realizing that he was acting strangely, he looks apolegetically towards Haldor and Tesni. "Sorry. You, Haldor, are so lucky to have people that care about you. I, myself, have none, at least none that aren't dead, or missing from my memory. The only family member I remember was my mother, and her death was what drove me to leave my family's home. The night I left," Dak pauses, and his face falls a bit, but he recovers his posture quickly. "The night I left, I took a drink of the water I kept on my bedside table. It tasted a bit strange, but I thought nothing of it at first. As I rode away.....my memories faded. The faces that were so important to me became blurred. Now, all I have....All I have are snippets of memory, small bits and pieces. My mother....I remember her voice, but not her face. I had someone else as well, someone who I looked up to, cherished every moment with. They might have been a sibling, or just a close friend. Whoever they were, though, I miss them badly." Dak's face lifted a bit again as he spoke the next words. "But, that is enough breath wasted on my past for one day. You two seem like powerful adventurers, how have your recent quests been?"

Dak starts, waking up from the table where he had nodded off. Seeing Guts leave the Hall with Knifk and some others, he nods at Guts, who was yelling something back to a shirtless man and a purple-clad, staff-wielding woman who looked like a magic-user. He walks over to the two, only to see a large woman Barbarian approaching as well. Feeling a bit scared inwardly, but trying not to show it on the outside, Dak continues his approach. He ends up stopping a few feet away, almost reduced to running away, but still, he musters the courage to speak, even though there is a slight quavering in his voice. "Hail, fellow heroes. I don't believe we have met before," he says, bowing and attempting to act natural but still coming off awkward and far too formal. "I saw my companion of two Quests, a Rogue by the name of Guts, conversing with you a few minutes ago. He left in quite a spot of rage, if I remember correctly. Pray tell, what was your quarrel with him? And I must congratulate you, not many people can keep their heads on their shoulders as well when he begins insulting and demeaning them. I certainly can't." Now feeling a bit more comfortable, Dak remembers he has not introduced himself. "Forgive me, I have not even told you my name. Dak Shadeaux, at your service," and here he bows again. "And what are your names? For I don't believe I have seen you here before." Dak continues to wince inwardly at how formal he sounds, but doesn't show it on the outside. Appearances are everything, he reminds himself.

There's an innuendo gag to come out of that post, I'm sure of it. Problem is, I can't find it.
-
It'll probably just change back automatically, but I can't be sure.

C.U.U.S.O.O you mean? Yeah, there's stuff on there for Castle that is pretty good. *It's A.p.r.i.l F.o.o.l.s D.a.y.

Dak strolls casually into the Marketplace with 411 Gold clinking in his pockets, thinking about new strategies. First, he walks up to Anwyl's Smithy, to sell his Mockthril Whip (+20 G), and his Thgir Blade (+25 G), leaving him with 456 Gold. (411+25+20) He then walks over to Elphaba's Wagon, and buys a Topaz for 100 Gold, which leaves him with 356 Gold(456-100). He walks back to the Smithy, and puts 220 Gold(80+90+50), his Mockthril Knife, the gem, and his Writ of Service on the table, which puts his Knife to WP:10, Lightning elemental. This leaves him with 136 Gold (356-220). That done, he walks over to Portia's Potion Shack, and buys two Meads, costing him 30 Gold, leaving him with 106 Gold. This done, he buys a Smelling Salts and a Nostrum, costing him 60 Gold (35 + 25). This transaction leaves him with 46 Gold (106-60). Thus equipped, he continues back to the Hall.

Dak didn't remember how he had gotten back to his room. All he knew was that his head was practically split in half by headache. The sun beat against his closed eyelids, practically forcing them open. As the curtains of sleep drew back from his mind, every pain throughout his body became more sharp, more acute. The pain in his legs, the wounds from the giant crocodile's claws still throbbing. The pain above his right eye was slowly fading, but still hurt. He sat up slowly, and noticed a note, neatly folded, lying conspicuously next to his cot. As he slowly became more aware, he noticed that his shirt was off, and looked at his thin, wiry chest, covered in cuts, bruises, and fresh scars. "Damn it all," he muttered, standing up and looking for his clothes. His cloak was gone, but his satchel was still there. He had no choice but to grab something else, which turned out to be a light grey undershirt and his dark grey jacket. As he grabbed the jacket, the strangest sensation came over him, as if the jacket had meant something to him, or maybe it had to do with the person he couldn't quite remember, the one who had meant so much to him...... He decided to stop there, so as to not pass out again. Finally ready, he opened the note, reading through it quickly. He thought about it for a while, but finally stood up, grabbing some gear on the way. "There's a lot of stuff I can do before sunset. Had better get started." He walked down the spiral staircase, the sun shining through the stained-glass windows at his back. He took in the bustling Hall, and immediately saw some people he knew. He decided to talk to Guts first. "Hail, old man. I see you got your wine, eh? Hope you're happy with it. I'm off to the Marketplace, and afterwards I ain't got nothing to do. Care for a rematch in the Arena? I've learned a few things since we last sparred, and this time you won't be so lucky, I think. So, how's about it? Just you and me, settling our differences out the good old-fashioned way; a fight to the death KO."

Mafia School: A Bedtime Story
Darth Nihilus replied to Sandy's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I don't generally discuss mafia stuff with my girlfriend, if that's what you're getting at. -
To start, thank you UsernameMDM for hosting! It was, for the most part, a very interesting Quest, except for the points mentioned by Rumble Strike and Scubacarrot above. As they have said, the photography and story was excellent, although it might have benefitted from a boss fight. The battles were very well-described, and they came often enough that I didn't really get bored. As the others have also said, the rewards were great, especially for Dwellington, who gained two gems in teh Quest, and Scuba, Tanma, and I, who gained a lot of Gold from the battles and the end rewards both. All in all, you get a from me.

Mafia School: A Bedtime Story

I figure I should sign up, if only because I need to make up for my past failures. 1. I'm active quite often, the only reason I haven't lately is because I've been pretty busy with work-related stuff. Also, my mother made me come over to the nursing home almost twice a day, every day, for pretty random problems. That's cleared up now, so I'll be quite a bit more active over the coming weeks. I've played in two games before, both basically botched on my part, but since I've read the MafiaWiki over and over, I think I'm ready for a new game and a new strategy. I don't talk in l33t speak unless I'm texting, which I can't do on EB anyway. 2. Aesop. Need I say more? -
Nice hobbies! Me, nothing much that's interesting, unless you count playing video games obsessively until my fingers bleed a hobby. Other than that, I like to mess around with computers, upgrading hard drives and such. Nothing really professional, but it helps a lot to have some know-how about computers in our modernized world. I also like to do a bit of sports, but that isn't really a hobby.

Has anyone else noticed that Batman's angry face on the cover is just his "smirking" face with its mouth turned upside-down? Regardless, this does look like a wonderful game, and I actually welcome the voices in the game, they can add a whole new level to gameplay, such as bosses taunting you or missions such as talking to the commissioner to get your next mission. The voice acting was what brought the best out of games like Mass Effect, The Force Unleashed 1 and 2, METROID, and many others, and I can only hope that this game lives up to the legacy those other games left. From what has been done with the first glimpses of the acting, I believe that it will live up to my expectations and more.

Heroica RPG - Quest #20: Missing Minerals!
Darth Nihilus replied to UsernameMDM's topic in The Heroica Archive
Dak nods at Tarn as the older man hands him his share of the loot, and then thinks over his answer for a long while before finally deciding on which type of bomb he will choose. "I will take a Lightning Bomb, if you don't mind terribly, Mr. Steward." Dak takes the bomb and puts it in his satchel, which quickly disappears under his robes again. He begins walking away, but stops as a sharp pain comes to his brow, causing him to clutch it for a moment before recovering his posture. "Uhhhh.....Head hurts. Need to get back to Hall," he mutters, stumbling away rather drunkenly. "Need...." What was it that he needed? Something.....something he had lost. Something.....or someone? The sheer effort on his part to remember was nearly enough to make him collapse, but all his efforts met with failure. There was something....like a wall, blocking his thoughts. "Damn......it," he says in a voice so weak it's almost a whisper. The rest of the few miutes he remains in consiousness are measured by the slow glimpses he has into the world. The walls.....spinning as he falls. The ground.....rising to meet him, like a welcoming bed. Then, the dirt alleyway.....hitting the side of his face. The only sounds he can hear are the deafening beat of his heart. Thump.Thump.Thump. -
I'm not Brickdoctor, but from what I've seen, he's given the Heroes XP for things like: 1. Inventing war machines far above and beyond the limits of their time period. 2. Being extremely creative with defending the fortress. It's sort of like getting XP for role-playing; you get it because you did something extremely creative, not just because the QM likes to give out XP for absolutely nothing.

At the rate Arthur's gaining free XP from Brickdoctor, he's going to be to Level 15 before the Quest is over.

I'm not the one your question is directed at, but here's some of my criticisms: 1. The Gunmetal undertorso combined with the purple head/core just screams "EVO!" to me. 2. The combination of 3M and 4M shells on the legs is extremely similar to the one used by Evo and Bulk. Altogether, it looks like more of an Evo/Bulk/Nex combo than a MOC on it's own.

Heroica RPG - Quest #20: Missing Minerals!
Darth Nihilus replied to UsernameMDM's topic in The Heroica Archive
"What I would actually like is to find someone to teach me some Elven, I'm probably getting pretty rusty in the language of my kin. I haven't spoken my mother's language for so long, even though she made it a second language for me.... I wonder what she would say if she saw me now, playing the hero like she did." A shadow falls over Dak's face as he remembers better times, when his mother would teach him new words in Elven and how to be chivalrous and follow the knight's code of honor. Had he really fallen this far, strayed so far off the path his mother had guided him on? How could he make amends? He had stolen so much, yet gained so little, from the life of the Rogue. He remembered her words, so long ago: "If you ever stray off the path I've set for you, Dak, go to see a man I know in Eubric, by the name of Galdrian. He will show you the way. And remember, never stop doing good. Every kindness you perform will be repayed a thousandfold, remember that." What had he done to fall so far? What had happened, in that gap in his memory, that changed him forever, from what his mother had wanted him to be into.....this? He was no better than any of the people that had hurt him over the years. He was a thief now, yet he knew nothing about thievery. He was a Rogue with qualities that more befitted a Knight. He had to change. Guts, one of the best Rogues he knew, had spent time on the streets of Eubric. Dak had nowhere to go until the girl that had sent him letters, Alisha, got back to the Hall from whatever Quest she was on, so why not follow Guts' example and get some experience on the streets? He could try to find Galdrian at the same time, and it couldn't hurt to learn what the rest of the world besides Heroica was like. -
Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here

Droid Tri-Fighter set, from 2009. -
Exactly. I thought the movie was quite good, even without the excessive blood/gore of the Alien/Predator movies. Another example of a movie that pulled off the PG-13 rating quite well even though the book would be more suited for an R-rating is Jurassic Park, which in my opinion is one of the best movies ever.

That looks great, ADHO. Do you have plans on redesigning the Phase II helmets and the torsos as well? Katie(Poison Ivy) will be extremely happy if you do, because yours are the templates she uses. I know because we share a computer, and thus I can look at her designs. Also, on that note, I might (Just might) get back to doing some clones, but mostly I'll be doing other designs, like the Link I posted earlier today. Just at this moment I'm working on some stuff from LoZ, but later on I think I'll be doing Metroid, Dr. Who, and maybe some others.

Since the QM says so, if I have to guess.
