I still find it hard to believe that ‘Redwood’ was a tease for the Death Star. Which is not even the 2nd Death Star by the looks of things. Call me delusional but I think that there’s a reason the $200 18+ AT ST hasn’t been labelled as UCS. What if it’s actually a battle of Endor book nook/ diorama? If there are indeed 2 stormtroopers in the U-Wing I might need to get another Dropship vs Speeder to even out my forces. (I currently have 9 modern style stormies) In fact I might just use this year to build up my infantry corps. Seeing as nothing new interests me.

He is reliable. Honestly I’d have preferred both a Death Trooper and a Stormtrooper. But since this year is looking bleak for imperial military sets I’ll take some troopers wherever I can get. Imma point out that the supposed 2015-19 ‘dark ages’ of clone sets are quite a myth. There was still a decent assortment of Clone Wars sets every year. Considering that Lego had to also juggle lineups for 3 trilogies, 2 other movies and rebels. In the following years Clone Wars adjacent sets included the following (not including sets with prequel exclusive applications): 2015: 75072, 75073, 75076, 75077, 75080, 75085, 75086, 75087, 75088, 75089, 75107, 75108, 75109 and 75112. This was out of 45 sets. 2016: 75142 and 75151 (these were pretty substantial sets despite TFA and R1 needing a focus) out of 49 sets 2017: 75168, 75182 and 75191 (pretty good since Rebels S3, TLJ and R1 required sets.) out of 47 sets. 2018: 75199, 75206, 75214 and 75537 out of 48 sets. This was a year where both the TLJ and Solo released within 6 months of each other. 2019: 75224, 75233, 75234 and 75261 out of 46 sets. This was the year where The Mandalorian and TROS released. Granted, there was a lack in different units. But the reports of there being next to ‘nothing’ for Clone Wars fans during the 2015-19 era are greatly exaggerated. Especially when you consider the combined years. There was always something for Clone Wars fans. Just not the amount the films that we’re releasing at the time, ones that had stronger connections to the OT than the prequels, were getting. You don’t seem to have seen the online outrage that the Dark Falcon took up the $170 august set slot instead of a Turbo Tank which many people had theorised. A bunch of people complained in 2022 that the Clone Minifig pack wasn’t a 212th one as MandR had said it should have been. The constant demand for more clone sets. The amount of army-building YouTube channels. I believe there was even a petition to fire a LSW designer at one point because of their preference for the OT over the PT (correct me if I’m wrong I can’t recall where I heard that last part) And then there’s the 501st BP movement which kept hounding Lego employees and social media channels until it eventually got made. In fact recently people are starting to do this again for a Wolfpack BP.

I doubt it. Kevin Feige blended in as a civilian minifig. The Death Star has no such excuse to include a George Lucas in his iconic shirt.

I’m not even mad anymore. I’m just disappointed. All I wanted was an affordable imperial set. It was too much to ask.

There’s also the fact that other websites such as Reddit are echo chambers and in said echo chambers Clones are supposedly the coolest thing ever. Thus pressuring newcomers into buying more and more clone sets so they get lots and lots of upvotes. Believe me. It feels good to get upvotes. Speaking from personal experience, it gives you a sense of power and validation. But it’s hard to actually come up with and post stuff that kicks off into popularity at times. That’s why so many people are peer-pressured into buying and showing off their clone sets. Because clone bros upvote like sheep whenever a clone is shown. This increases Clone sales and ends up putting us, nothing more than clone enthusiasts who prefer other factions, in the position we are now. (personally I put the effort into making memes, I never repost other people’s work (except on leaks)) On a lighter note. All this talk about Lego OCs has made me realise, that the fact that we’re getting both a millennium falcon polybag and a Buildable B1 battle droid means we’re finally going to be able to recreate the Kaiju Battldroid fight from Droid Tales. I would love a modernised Jek figure. Jedi Bob, Rowan Freemaker and Jek-14 team up would be legendary. Not even the First Spinjitzu Master could compete with such forces of creation. Here’s hoping for RTG S2.

No, there are at least 2 potential new helmet pieces. (P1 Clone Pilot and Bacara) Also K2S0 and the Death Trooper helmet (and perhaps ventress’s lightsabers) must have taken up quite a bit of budget to bring back, either that or they’re new moulds. And if Dedra is in the U-Wing, maybe she’ll have a hair dual-moulded cap? For the record. I’m in no way defending this terrible year.

I was going to mention it, since it’s the set news that brought me out of exile, I’m just glad that it isn’t another clone set. My bet is that the Duros is Jedi Cad Bane. And the build is either Dev’s A-Tie or a Tiny Turbo Tank. Ok Lego. You can show me the Tie Defender now. It’s not funny anymore. That’s a terrible figure count. I guess they can amp up the droid count by adding Droideka, spider droid or crab droid side builds. Clone Bros complaining about this when they know damn well they’re going to buy 50 MTTs and 200 BPs minute 1 anyway. Welp it looks like I’m not buying the 327th BP then. I have very little interest in the MTT whatsoever and I find no point in amassing a legion without a Commander. Also I tire of massive AT RTs. More money to go watch Superman I guess. GUYS Wow. I’ve only been gone a week. But it’s nice to be wanted. I was planning on maintaining radio silence until we finally got some good set news, but I’ll guess the confirmation of RTG set instead of another clone set will have to do. Though I did get kidnapped by the brotherhood of Turtle on Wednesday who attempted to sacrifice me to allow Turtle’s return. Luckily the Justice Society of Kamino came to my rescue (more on that later) It’s great to be back. May the Jonkling continue. I think it’s a decent casting. My personal fancast was Luke Evans. But hopefully James Gunn has the balls to cast Danny Devito as the Guardians. It would be more acceptable if it led to Kyle Rayner and Jessica Cruz being buddy cops in Season 2 or 3. But yeah, I’m prepared for John to steal Kyle’s storyline, again. Soooooo, we’re getting Cyborg Spider-Man before Cyborg Superman. And Arkham and the Batmobile appear to be Schumacher based. Alright. I’ve seen enough. I reckon this’ll do very nicely.
