I would really appreciate some casting suggestions as were running out of users. I already have an idea for Red Guardian and Bucky has already been cast. Apparently not. Amazon numbers are nowhere as good as they usually are for dumb sets. I remember the U-Wing getting over 1000+ purchases in its first month. Meanwhile Vader’s TIE is the only one of these Smart sets to breach 400+.

The hacker tried to kill the campaign. Their betrayal demands consequence. And that consequence requires a TIE Avenger. (#361) Dammit. 100%. We went from last year’s truly unique and awesome play-set GWP to one that’s just a relatively mundane buildable object (it still looks good though) I just finished episodes 5-6. TBoBF gets a set this year but MSL doesn’t?! Make it make sense! Shadow Lord is just amazing. It’s been a crazy week for villains repaying aura debt. First Thragg and now Marrok. But I’m now even more mad that it was 332nd troopers in the January BP. I maintain that it should have been TK Troopers!

It looks cool. And we’re closer than ever to GL Batman with the cowl recolour.

A communication disruption can only mean one thing…. I sense a plot to destroy the campaign. Good thing I’ve been harassing Bricktap /s (Day #360) All these reveals and not a single one for SW? Bring me the @@ already!! You know nothing of madness. You were not an inmate of the Aslume, but you’d have fit in quite nicely. You are strong in the Yuletide of the force. Most impressive.

If I’m being honest… this trailer isn’t doing anything for me. And they’ve gone and spoiled that the Hutts get defeated by a NR air strike. However I think the fact that we haven’t seen anything from Officer Bald who’s supposed to be the main villain suggests that they’re hiding something. We should have gotten the Hutt starfighter and an imperial remnant bp as sets though. And also from a new poster we should have gotten this: I never thought I’d be putting Harry Styles on my Spotify but PHM was just that good. Maybe next year… but nah we must get more Smart Play I guess. Maybe if Smart Play bombs hard enough this year Lego will scramble to replace any future planned set slots. Paving the way for something creative like NJ or… THE GODDAM TIE AVENGER!/s

(#356 of this Hail Mary of a project.) Another big issue in my eyes also is that the SW team don’t use the 18+/ collector subthemes to as much of its full potential as other themes do. Instead of the complex and intricate building techniques that Ninjago Legends and the new Marvel epic battle sets utilise, SW midiscale is literally “what if we made x vehicle smaller and smoother with no minifigs or play-features.” Give me an epic battle set depicting the Millenium Falcon’s and Wedge’s escape from DSII. Give me a Battle of the Heroes set that’s similar to the new Dragon Blade Battle. Give me a small diorama of Cal Kestis taking on a Mogu or Jotaz or one of the other large creatures with Merrin tag-teaming. Mace Windu on a AT RT curb stomping a AAT. Ahsoka vs Maul duel on Mandalore with pieces of shattered glass around them.. My point is that so far the 18+ sets have been rather rudimentary in design compared to the display lines of other themes. If they can’t offer us anything more exciting than play-sets, I’ll just stick to play-sets. But that might just be me.

As for August though only the Hutt set seems spoilery. I mean what else could be in the AT AT apart from the officers and troopers we already know about. Everything else is from the series (except Boba) So it’s crazy we don’t have full fig lists. Just hit me with the AT AT already. Day #355 of beseeching Lego to make a TIE Avenger. I do too. But it’s hard when everything is based off the same single piece of content while Andor, Rogue One and Shadow Lord get ignored. Yes I recognise I’m being a bit salty here.

A couple of things: Adria Arjona (Bix from Andor) has been cast in MOT. Can’t wait for her to not get a minifig again./s uj/ I really hope she’s playing Wonder Woman, she’s been my #1 fancast for ages. MOT is shaping up to be a semi-team up movie with 2 Green Lanterns, Hawkgirl, Mr Terrific, Superman and Lex with Supergirl and Captain Atom being possible. So why not WW. Absolute Batman has been confirmed for LotDK! Now I just need Man and Dawnbreaker skins and it’ll be the best Batman game ever.

Me again. But just for one modular idea I thought I’d like to write down. Warrior’s Bar (£269.99) It’s a Green Lanten and Justice League International based modular with 14 Minifigs + 2 printed animals: Guy Gardner, Hal Jordan (jacket), Kyle Rayner (honour guard), John Stewart, Powergirl, Booster Gold, Ice, Soranik Natu, G’Nort, Ganthet, Atrocitus, Star Sapphire, Rocket Red (Manhunter alternate face print), a Manhunter, Bd’g (Blue Lantern) and Dexstarr. The build is shaped like the top half of the GL central power battery (like in the comics). At the top there’s a small apartment/ art studio for Kyle including sticker drawings of Jade, Donna Troy, Soranik Natu and a bed with sticker comic covers of Kyle’s original JLA and Solo runs. At the back there’s a kitchen with various ingredients and cooking equipment, a Black Lantern fridge and 2 2x2 stickered tiles on representing the recipes for Green Arrow’s Chilli and Kilowog’s ‘Ma’s Special Recipe.’ On the bar counter there’s: a green power battery, a sticker comic of Hard Travelling Heroes, various coloured drinks and bottles. The stools are built like power batteries a Ferris Air In the main lounge there are 3 different tables (one has a copy of the Daily Planet on it, another a advertisement for Ferris Air and another with the Books of Oa and Black) and various posters and references to Lantern exploits along the walls including: a poster of the Justice League #1 Poster (‘Wanna make something of it.’), a Alan Scott WW2 propaganda poster, a Coast City poster, a old photo of Hal and Sinestro as GLs, a old photo of John and Katma with their Mosaic designs, group photo of Kyle, Hal, Guy and Kilowog inspired by the GL Rebirth cover, 3 statue slots to place different heroes or Lantern minifigs on, and many other references… Green Lanterns vs Manhunters GWP: Iolande and Ch’p vs 2 Manhunters Companion sets: Green Lantern Mech (£12.99): Hal Jordan and Cyborg Superman Green vs Red Lanterns Battlepack (£19.99): Bleez, Rankorr, Jessica Cruz and Tomar Tu

My desired fig list: Officer Beard (the confirmed warlord), the armoured commander from the D23 trailer, 2 Remnant Snowtroopers, Mando and 2 AT AT Drivers. Mando is optional, can be replaced with another AT RT driver or one of the other warlords at the meeting. I think I heard somewhere that Pellaeon’s actor was on the casting calls but I’m honestly not sure. As for features: 3 seater cockpit, decent troop capacity/ main bay, weapon racks, cargo crates, accurate mid section entrance hatch, and not too spindly on the legs. I’d say that Bad Batch had a strong start with its first 2 episodes. But then went on to become hit or miss for most of the rest of seasons 1&2. The Ryloth and Bracca arcs in season 1 being the exceptions. And S2 is hard carried by the mid-season Coruscant arc and the Crosshair episodes (The Outpost was so artistically done.) S3 was pretty strong throughout though. But yeah. Maul easily takes the win for best start here. Can’t wait to see Maul build up to 5 Star Wanted Level. I am now praying more than ever that M&G is a fun and/ or good movie that gets well received. Or something more. Whatever, it just needs to keep the ball rolling. The recent streak of good content can lead to the revitalisation of the fanbase as long as the goodwill keeps building up. If M&G and Ahsoka S2 can keep the torch of hype lit, Starfighter may become the franchise’s triumphant return to where it belongs in the mainstream. And just a reminder for when it eventually releases. TIE Avengers are friends, not food. (I’m looking at you @BrickBob Studpants) Day #354.

And with fruit punch! (I swear to Lucas, the Invincible fandom makes r/BatmanArkham look perfectly sane. It’s both hilarious and concerning) Hey man. Long time no see. As much as I’d like it to be true, it’s not been corroborated by anyone reliable and no sources were cited. I really hope that it is part of the 40xxx we don’t need more Buildable characters taking up our normal set slots as it is, regardless of whether 75458 is a TIE Avenger or not. (Day #353) Another day of waiting for the AT AT fig list/ details.

i wouldn’t say the B1 needs an update. It’s too spindly to have separated legs imo. But each to their own. I do hope that Shadow Lord does get sets at some point but…. Day #352 of making more steaks. THE LEAKERS ARE HIDING IT FROM ME! THAT IS THE ONLY LOGICAL REASON!!! /s

You B1 Battledroid… I’d still have you. Where’s the AT AT AT? As for TIE Avenger news: So let’s hope there’s something soon. (Day #351) All these leaks and nothing on the SW June wave. I’m flabbergasted that we still know next to nothing about either of the set numbers.

This is good news Mark. We can finally be TIE Avengers. This isn’t your theme, but we can be TIE Avengers. This is good news. You can be a TIE Avenger. You’ll live like a TIE Avenger. A set. (Day #350) (Not even the worst undercut Oliver will face this season, but yeah it’s both funny and annoying at the same time. We are getting so spoiled on animation right now) Smart Play Dagobah is already discounted on UK Amazon, likely due to its 50+ monthly sales. They really should have just started with a police car. Vader’s TIE is now at 400+ sales in the last month on Amazon UK. X-Wing and AT ST at 200+, which is matching the U-Wing and TIE Bomber which have been out far longer and are past their heyday in sales. All other Smart Play range between 50+ and 100+. Agreed. Sandcrawler enthusiasts have been spoiled so far compared to everyone else.

Still patiently waiting for news on the AT AT and TIE Avenger news (Day #249) I think Lego made a steak with the Smart Play line starting in Star Wars.

Future characters: Nymeria Ghost Fenrir Gunarsh Warg Jok Buck Lupust This does scream desperation to me. Like I said yesterday, Lego usually just doesn’t bother with SW marketing for normal sets. I am patiently waiting for the AT AT fig list. And perhaps a sketch? Hola Senor John Lego. Uno TIE Avenger por favor.

We’re only 2 episodes in and it’s already everything that TBoBF should have been. The January Battlepack really should have moved to May and included Blacked out Mandos and TK Troopers instead. The SP AT ST should have been replaced with a dumb AT AC. And Maul’s shuttle should just be a set. Yet more evidence that Lego’s fumbled this year. BP to provide main grunt troopers AT AC for 11th Brother, Devon, Maul and the imperial officer from posters Mandalorian shuttle for: Maul, Rook, Icarus, Lawson and maybe 1-2 other characters I mean those seem like the most obvious things Lego could have planned for. But the biggest of Lego’s crimes this year is not delivering the very thing we’ve spent 347 days asking for /s

Got bored so I made a meme which pretty much shows why the Batmid obsessed Lego don’t make Goat Lantern sets. Time to do the delusional dance again and believe that 2027 will be the year of the GL mech. What does it say you mean?! MOT is releasing next year. And to commemorate it Lego will release 2 whole Batmobiles. One might even be based on the comics!! Isn’t that enough?!!

I know Anthony Daniel’s and Dave Filoni have already been doing promos. But that was prior to release. They’re afraid, when was the last time Lego poured so much marketing into new sets? When most of the time sets just don’t get much marketing. I can’t even remember the last time I saw a LSW advert before Smart Play. Day #346 of the grind.

I wanted to make an Easter meme. This is the best I could think of without complication. 345 days of such an eggcellent campaign. I really hope the armoured Officer for the trailers is in the AT AT. I really need an imperial field commander. So far I only have Agent Kallus. Also we really need a Battlepack to expand imperial forces. It’s a shame really. I literally had the Pellaeon mentality/ hope for this year. But where are we? Still no versatile battlepacks, 2 extremely expensive sets. The cheapest global set with a stormtrooper is the Razor Crest. We’re now in the 2nd year of a no new dumb TIE Fighters streak regardless of the Avenger. The only medium sized vehicle is the AT RT. Ahsoka S2 sets currently being MIA… Sorry if this feels like I’m whining. (Also, why doesn’t Pellaeon just use his Viltrumite powers to help the remnant? Is he stupid?)

One Piece and Ninjago continue to humiliate SW in design and variety. Can we just get the Ninjago guys on something SW already? Like maybe a TIE Avenger (#344)

I just realised that this will be our 2nd consecutive year without a new normal dumb TIE variant releasing. A TIE Avenger would have really solved a lot of balancing problems. (Day #343) That and the AT AT are the only sets left this year i’m intrigued by. Hopefully they deliver and we get sketches/ leaks soon.

Virus speech. Thragg, Vader, Thrawn and Sinestro are my Mt Rushmore of space villains. 2023 Ahsoka/ Gunship wave is where colour variety peaked for this theme. I do now believe now that he has kenough kenergy to save the SW brand. His project really is our Hail Mary. It was truly fantastic. Best Sci-Fi movie I’ve seen in years. I can’t remember the last film that had me going from laughing to the verge of tears within 5 minutes.

Regarding recent news about 75458 being 18+ and those who fear it’s over: “No. You are wrong. We will honor our fallen. Rebuild ourselves at any cost, and destroy those who thought they could extinguish us. We are TIE Avengers. We are without end.” (Day #342 of this campaign being *TITLE CARD*) Carson is the cherry on top. But I will still wait for an Amazon sale. I guess. I watched Project Hail Mary last night. Yeah, Starfighter’s in good hands. Patiently waiting for a AT AT figlist.

I used to own 2012. But it broke and I lost many of the pieces. The new one is definitely an upgrade. And it’s the closest thing we’re going to get to a Rogue One set this year. What imperial ones? Take away Smart Play and it’s really only the AT AT and Shuttle. It’s an abomination but I guess it’s better than nothing. Especially if it plays Niamos. (Day #341) I have mixed feelings on smart Lieutenant Krole being the only included minifig./s
