  1. If that is true, this is a truly ridiculous price. One fitting Marvel sets, not LotR.
  2. Almost certainly just this set - like the Fell Beast was for Barad-Dur.
  3. https://www.lego.com/en-gb/stores/events/meet-the-designer-lsq
  4. I don't think the exact numbers are shared, but BDP has a maximum of 30000 copies. The train from the last series came very close, but still didn't reach it, the General Store was - at a glance - around 80% (so somewhere around 24k copies sold worldwide), while the logging train was kinda a trainwreck in comparison (both pics were taken shortly before their runs ended).
  5. I didn't say there isn't any market for it, it is just not big enough for Lego to bother. And you can throw every excuse for the situation you can, but at the end of the day the BDP numbers certainly don't inspire confidence in the theme.
  6. There is some demand, certainly. But it is big enough to justify doing a wave of smaller sets? We won't know until it happens, so likely never. Could be that there is enough people interested in it, but could be that it is a very vocal and loud, yet relatively small group. Some people have been going for a while now how not doing Western is wasting so much potential and money, that people really want it, and yet BDP western sets don't tend to sell the full 30k...
  7. The 2017 Assembly Square clocked in at 4002 pieces retailed for 299,99$ while the late 2023 (counting for 2024 IIRC) Natural History Museum was the same for 4014 elements. This year has the Tudor Corner (3266 pieces for 229,99$) which is the price of the Boutique Hotel (but it has more pieces). That adjustement may be true, but it clearly doesn't apply everywhere. I believe the current rumor is 36 figs and 2 brick-built droids.
  8. Two 3 in 1 sets,
  9. The one thing (since a lack of moulded horses was to be expected in a 3-in-1) I'm kinda disappointed with thus far. I'd prefer a color not used by a faction currently on the shelves (ie. the Lions). Unless it turns out to be dark red, in which case this comment is null and void.
  10. Apparently the three builds are: castle (duh) joust market
  11. The same leaker mentioned the new 3 in 1 Castle basically looks like the one we see in the background of 31161's box.
  12. I'm not sure what they'd need to put into the set to make a 2000 piece build like this worth 350$.
  13. If they go with a PPP similiar to Barad-Dur and Rivendell, it would be around 170$. With the PPP of the upcoming book nook, 200$. It really shouldn't go above that (and I'd expect pricing closer to the former tbh - don't think the set would need too many large pieces or new moulds (whereas I can see the nook having a balrog wings element, boosting the price).
  14. According to Blockid in the Brick Tap server, one of the builds for the upcoming 3 in 1 Castle will "basically be Kingdoms Joust". With brick-built horses. 5 figs, a new faction.
  15. I'm pretty sure that when most people say "Minas Tirith", they mean the whole city. Not like Pellenor fields had much going on beyond the orc armies anyway... 4 doesn't work all too well due to a lack of locales from the movie to build the sets around. Hogwarts was explored (for obvious reasons - it had much more screen time) in far greater detail.
  16. I really hope it isn't. Not the second, not the third, not the fifteenth, not the thousanth $1000 set. That price point is ridiculous and shouldn't be a thing.
  17. While the set certainly has plenty of flaws, I cannot help but feel the leak really hurt it - people saw what it could be and latched onto that. And in many cases expecting it would retail for the same price as the released version, which I find doubtful. Retired early and with big discounts in many places. Both aren't usually a sign of a set going strong. I wonder how it would do if they skipped the modularity gimmick in favour of opening up like the LKC and improved some parts of the design accordingly...
  18. Not like Gloin had much of a role in the movie beyond being background scenery, yet we still got him (even if unnamed).
  19. The LotR trilogy is iconic and beloved. Hobbit, not so much (though Amazon's shitshow redeemed its image a fair bit).
  20. They just need to focus on the hall of Meduseld, ignoring all the houses and walls and it becomes a rather reasonable set.
  21. The unprinted panels do exist in light bluish gray - came in sets 7094 and 7037.
  22. Old LotR sets also weren't selling like hotcakes. Yet modern LotR still uses flesh tones :P
  23. I would find it amusing if the horse knights turned out to be Rohirrim with the serial number filed off...
  24. I imagine the former. Brick built horses in a castle set in 2025 aren't something most would want to see. It will be rather small though...
