  1. Voting is now closed! And my votes - Guss - 1 Kris Kelvin - 1 Infomaniac - 1 Cap'n Blackmoor - 1 Marshal Banana - 1 Derfel Cardarn - 1 Maydayartist - 1 Perhaps the most difficult voting I've ever done!
  2. Badboytje88's Lost City of Atlantis MOC is a lovely blend of Space Police 3 and Atlantis figures, in a mythological submerged city - see more pics in his Flickr photostream, or comment here!
  3. It seems that you are looking for a face decal? Try posting in this thread, and I'm sure that someone will provide if you're patient.
  4. Bandanas/rag hats kind-of cover up the back of the head, but if it really bothers you, the only solution would be to brasso it... Bit of a disappointment, that. Not another faction! They look pretty good for normal sailors - neckerchief and plain torso.
  5. Not meaning to double post, but as this was the last day, what were everyone's thoughts on the calendar as a whole, when opened day-by-day? Personally, I loved it. Enough minifigs and great new parts to balance out some of the more mundane stuff, like tables and under-the-sea scenes. The treasure chest wasn't such a great thing for the last day - true, it fits, but ultimately the swordfish or mermaid would have been better, as they're rarer (I'm thinking similar to the Jester last year)...
  6. You mean they don't have a Lego Restoration Expert on the staff? Should the global economic downturn hit you hard, Phes, I'm sure you could always ask for the job! There's some threads on cleaning sails here and here. Lego12 had a pretty messed up SES here, if you need any empathy The above threads should help if the mould hasn't damaged the sails, but if they need replacing, the Sail Library and these tutorials on making sails may help (here and here). Good luck
  7. Did a bit of digging - from a Danish blog-
  8. Just a windmill... The technique for the walls is surprisingly versatile and useful - there's a better picture here.
  9. I love the whole shape of the building and all the various techniques used. Incorporating pillar elements/stacked 2x2 rounds into a flat wall is a great way to break it up, and effective too; something I'm going to look into doing at some point. The use of Hagrid arms on the monkey is ingenious!
  10. That may fit a bit too tightly, like when you put a cone over a lightsabre blade, and make you damage the piece when trying to rotate it. A hole in the bottom which fits first a stud, and then a bar higher up on the inside, like a 1x1 round brick, would allow for greater MOC integration.
  11. Seems pretty similar to a Belville Finial But yes, I'm agreed with you, a bomb that attaches neatly to studs, hands, flames, in black, bley and dark silver would be lovely. It could also be used elsewhere as a decoration.

    Flickr Help ?

On a Flickr Pro account, there is a button which enables this to happen, but without one it's impossible, to my recollection. I'd recommend sticking the new photos on Brickshelf, and then linking to them in a note around the changed parts on the original on Flickr.
  13. Just watched it on video... much better than I'd expected, and funny and revealing too! Good to see that the floors were self-supporting after all, my bad I'm assuming that they only wanted to use basic bricks of various sizes, but using technic bricks to make the beams would have been a load stronger and lighter, if they'd done it right, using 16l technic bricks to form long thin beams, which then had angled (either 90' or 45') 16l bars onto another long thin beam, with suitable 16x8 bricks on top, bottom and technic beams layered in between the sections, packed in with plates...
  14. Looks like it fits the standard cannon base - ? I love it! And looking forward to the swivel gun, and the 1x1 doublesided plate may actually make me take that step and buy something!
  15. Technic ball joint? I think Dano came up with this originally, using the small flame piece, but the original photo has been deleted now, I think. The small flame fits better, and the minifig's hand can be upright too.
  16. I love the little ship, and the whole thing looks much bigger than it actually is You've got a nice blend of classical and modern building styles - do you try to do it that way, or is it your collection which influences how you build? BTW, Neptune is great
  17. A biscuit, sure! It's well built, and the angled tiles are great. I love the window bars and arch above the door too. My main complaint is that it all feels a little 1 dimensional - it's long and thin, so difficult to present as well. I'd recommend a wider wall, with the zipwire at an angle across the diagonal, built onto a more square base, to even it out. I like what you've got going in the Training a Knight - nice techniques on the bulrushes, stream, fence and cobbles - I look forward to the rest!
  18. It's time to vote in the Large Category of Pillage the Village II! Vote Now! Medium Category Winners!

  25. Snowed here too... we were the only school in Hertfordshire that opened (as usual... ). It was the last day of term, so half day anyway, and lots of fun, even if the snow was a little on the powdery side for snowballs. Then went to see St Trinian's 2 with friends; soooo funny - "Friends, Romans, Countrymen" - me and my friends were laughing so hard, whilst the rest of the cinema was silent (the cinema was in rather a lowbrow area of town...)
