  2. The staff have held their own Pillage the Village Contest too, and the time has come to vote! Read the rules and vote here!
  3. The staff have had their own contest, too! The rules - You have 3 votes to allocate between the entries, in any combo - you know the procedure Everyone can vote! Svelte Jipay Erdbeereis Siegfried Bonaparte SlyOwl LuxorV
  4. Thanks, I've added them There shouldn't be any copyright laws, I don't think... Best to keep discussion in one place, here
  5. Added, thanks very much! BTW, I changed those massive pics to links so unsuspecting members don't stumble across them in the thread
  6. The pics disappeared as Evil Willy's Photobucket account has been inactive for 90 days, although they're still present on his account. I saved them to the Classic-Pirates photobucket, so now they're restored
  7. PDFs aren't the easiest file to use - you can, however, upload them to Brickshelf (tutorial here), so you don't need to attach them to your post. Personally, I'd prefer to have .jpg images, which can then be resized to the right size, in a similar fashion to the rest of the Sail Library. By the way, once you're done, I'll be very happy to add them to the index - the one set we haven't got yet!
  8. Really nice selection of figs, I especially like the skeleton child. I too often start with the figs, before the main build. An orphanage is something I've often thought about building, in classic Victorian style, so maybe your MOC will give me some pointers when the time comes Looking forward to this, and all the other, CPCB entries!
  9. Really old news... I'll close this. Speculation about the future of the pirate line can go here
  10. Happy Bday Kurt, have a good one Hope you're enjoying your new(ish) job
  11. Thanks for the feedback everyone, means a lot Dug it up in the garden! Always useful to have some yellowed and chewed bricks handy, particularly white ones. Of course! As does the suffix They're quite hard to incorporate, being 1/2 a plate thick; you could rest them on top of normal studs, and build on top of that, which would make the top of the door flush with normal plates. In this one, I had to use headlight bricks to recess the posts by 1/2 plate into the water to make it work... I kind of made up the title as I posted this... not really bothering about content/grammaticalness, just coolness I wasn't even sure whether laguna meant lagoon (I looked it up since)... Thanks anyway, my spanish is always improving, although I don't actively learn it anymore.
  12. I believe there was an announcement a few years back that the Lego Legends line was over, and that there would be no more re-issues of sets based on consumer desire. Besides, the newer sets are much more aesthetically pleasing to my mind, and as the Legends didn't sell that well as I recall, it's unlikely it would be worth it to TLG to rerelease them. And also it keeps the value of my BSB and SES on the up
  13. Really nice work, you've had a great year of customising! I need to look through this galleries in more depth now. That centaur is especially nice, great blend of horse and minifig. Looking forward to more castle customs
  14. Only one available at the moment... Personally, I would recommend that you try ebay to get a cheap, not necessarily complete SES that comes with a box - it should work out cheaper overall - instead of $70 for a box, you pay say $150 for a box and most of a ship. Here's Lorentzen's review (really great pics, by the way Almost makes me feel like getting old sets MISB...) I've also got a gallery of pics here, including some of the box.
  15. There's a few slightly bigger pics here, KimT
  16. That's some really nice landscaping, integrated into an even better scene! I'm not personally big on the rather plain minifigs, but hey, that's personal taste... Your other MOCs are really good to - interesting to see what a range of techniques and styles can be employed building in just one theme (modern day Town). Keep it up
  17. You need to remove the part from the Youtube tags. I fixed it up for you Really nice animation - the song is custom, I presume? It sounds a bit like The Fresh Prince of Bel Air
  18. Thanks everyone! Had a great day down at the Grandparents', went to the theatre to see the Snow Queen. Nothing, actually! We decided to have a no-presents Christmas/Birthdays at the moment, to raise money for our church redevelopment project. Of course, it wasn't an ultimatum, and we did exchange some small items, but it was refreshing to get away from all that materialism (I've even given up Bricklinking and buying sets, so my colour and parts pallette isn't going to advance very quickly...) Staff business, go back to your drinks Oo, yeah! Happy (belated) birthday to you! Hope you had a good time.
  19. And as a new decade starts, the PTVII comes to an end, with the announcement of the Creative Critic Winner! Find out who won!
  20. The staff have conferred... and the winner is... The Otters Please PM Bonaparte your address to receive your prize! That about concludes the PTVII, the staff would like to thank all the participants - builders, creative critics and voters - for helping make it a resounding success: over 85 entries, and nearly 40 participating in the Creative Critic Award. All that's left now is the Staff PTVII, but there's no real rules for it; just look out for the voting thread sometime! Oh, and remember those map pieces...?
  21. As it's not yet actually available, I'll close this; discussion belongs here, as said BTW, really nice animation - I'm not a big fan of Halo, but it's really cool!
  22. PTVII - Winners Large Category... Find out who won now!
  23. 1st. I Scream Clone 2nd. Kris Kelvin Joint 3rd. Infomaniac Joint 3rd. Cap'n Blackmoor I Scream Clone, Kris Kelvin, please PM Bonaparte your addresses to get your prizes! You all get trophy tags too Congratulations! Look out for the Creative Critic Winner soon
  24. Check the Shops Index, which covers most of the big names; most have some form of piratey accessory.
  25. A lot of the other Atlantis figs seem to be good for pirate MOCing - dare I mention it, fantasy creatures! Davy Jone's crew could get quite a bolstering with all the new molds.
