  1. Listen, could you all just shut up and go to bed!? Some of us are trying to sleep. If you were making any progress in the investigation then that would be fine, but no, you're all just throwing insults backwards and forwards at each other, and stupid accusations. You're all acting like children! Off to bed, the lot of you. It's past your bed time. We can try processing some proper evidence in the morning, rather than just having you lot go round in circles accusing each other. Really, this town is enough to drive anyone insane.
  2. I'd just like to say that invitations to this game were only sent out to Fellows. I am running this game as my way of saying thank you to them for inviting me to join their group, so do not feel bad if you weren't invited, it's not because I don't like you! I may run another one of these sometime in the future (depending on how this one goes, of course), and that will definitely be open to the rest of you, so don't feel bad please, I still love you all.
  3. Second actually, my first was the one and only Mystery Castle. Although that was a Mafia game not a proper mystery, despite the title.
  4. Hello everyone. I am pleased to announce the beginning of EB's newest and hottest murder mystery, the mystery of Dragon's Retreat. Unlike the mafia games that have been running recently, this game requires skill, control, detective work, and a good sense of humour if you are to win. Participation is by invite only, however feel free to watch the clever antics of our EB detectives and see what interesting adventures they have. This thread is also open for general discussion, so if you want to make a comment, feel free to put it here. This thread has two rules however, which will be strictly enforced. 1. Do not post anything that could help or otherwise effect the judgement of those participating. Basically, this means do not discuss game content in this thread (or anywhere else for that matter). 2. Do not try to badger your way into the game! Sign-up is closed, and I will not be accepting any late entries, no matter how much I like you. Thanks for looking, and feel free to comment on anything other than direct game content. Your cooperation is appreciated. If this game goes well, then I may consider running another one sometime in the future which is open to more people. We'll have to see how it goes. This thread will also act as the index, so if you are looking for the threads then you can always refer to this one. The following are the rules of the game. ******************************** It is December the 1st, 2008. Dragon's Retreat, an old manor house dating from the time of the ancient Dragon Master's Kingdom, has been for decades the source of rumour and speculation for the people of Dratos. What treasures, what mysteries, does the old house hide? And what has happened to Lord Chester, the most recent owner of the large estate? You have been selected as a member of a team of investigators who are to discover what has happened at the manor. One of you is hiding a dark and deadly past however, and would kill to keep it secret. You have been asked to enter the manor and collect clues to solve the mystery. Be wary however, as you do not know what you face. Lord Chester is presumed dead, it is your job to uncover the circumstances of his death. You need to find the following: WHO committed the crime? WHERE was the crime committed (which room)? WHAT was the murder weapon? WHY was he killed (motive)? Good luck, for you will need it to survive this mystery... 1. There are to be 11 participants. If you commit to the game you are committing to contributing to the story and sticking with it to the end. I am trusting you all not to drop out halfway through, as that is never any fun. 2. The winner will be the first person to answer all four questions correctly. 3. All attempts at solving the murder are to be sent to me by PM only. Do not post your answers in the game thread. 4. You may attempt to solve the murder at any time, however if you are wrong you may not make another attempt for a further 48 hours (excluding time between chapters). If you make three incorrect guesses you will die in some unfortunate way, so be certain before you try. 5. You must search for clues. This means that an action must be specified. For example, you wish to search a room for hidden objects. The following is an example of how not to go about this: "I wish to look for suspicious or hidden objects in this room". Instead, you must be able to specify what you want to do. For example: "I would like to open the drawers of the cabinet." It is not required for you to specify exactly what you are doing and what you are looking for, but a generalised statement will not find you anything. Act like a detective and you will be fine. 6. This game is meant to be fun, so enjoy yourselves! 7. Please be patient with me between chapters, I will be away a few times, so there will be a few small breaks of up to a week at most. I will make sure that my absence affects the game as little as possible. 8. Please try to avoid editing your posts, as it can lead to suspicion against you. Just consider what you want to say before you say it, and you'll be fine. 9. Remember that any one of you could be the murderer, even yourself. Be wary of everyone, and trust your instincts. 10. Failure to follow these rules will result in a warning. A second failure will result in the humorous death of your character. Participants: 1. ImperialShadows - Peter Crawford; Lawyer 2. Sandy - Susan Greenwood; Receptionist 3. WhiteFang - Dr. Phillip Marshall; General Practitioner 4. Hinckley - Max Sinclair; Actor 5. Sir Nadroj - Dermot Stephens; University Student 9. Mr. Mandalorian - Dr. Gregory Grimsworth; University Professor 10. TheBrickster - Anthony Blackwater; Private Detective 11. Erdbeereis1 - Chef Frederick Valentine; Chef Index: Chapter 1 - The mystery begins Chapter 2 - Mystery Cuisine Chapter 3 - Knowledgeable Reading Chapter 4 - The search continues... Chapter 5 - The body of Lord Chester Chapter 6 - Sleep at last? Only for the dead... Chapter 7 - The plot thickens... Chapter 8 - The Dragons Lair... The Conclusion - All is revealed...
  5. What? That second clue is stupid, when put in context it is referring to Charles being oblivious to the fact that he is being followed. Nice try anyway. The first clue could be plausible though, so nice spotting.
  6. Yes I know that doofus, I meant are any of them new customs? For example the face on the Blah-Blah-Hinckley looks different to those in your customs thread, and I thought it might be a new one or something... Are you trying to make me look stupid? Wait, don't answer that...
  7. Oh I love you. What a cool update! That must be one of the best pages I've read in a while. Poor Tiny Pius... and poor Copmike for that matter. Also, are some of those faces new customs? I don't think I've seen some of them before...
  8. What? He only ran off just over an hour ago, how do you know what he's going to do in the future? Your not some future-viewing witch are you?
  9. New Zealand. Hey, if you come over looking for him, make sure you drop by me and say hello.
  10. Here here! Alexander, with an attitude like that, you may be just what we need to rid this town of the evil doers. That aside, I've completely lost track of where we were in the investigations, it feels like it's been days, not mere hours. Anyway, I guess we can pick up tomorrow, once we have some new evidence etc. It has been a long and tiring day, so I think bed is in order. See you all tomorrow.
  11. Oh come on Hinck, get a grip! You'll find out the whole story when this thing is over, just like the rest of us. He isn't going to tell you just because your such a nice, charming gentleman, that would ruin the surprise!
  12. Thanks for getting that up TinyPiesRUs! But... Um.... Don't we get told what side he was on?
  13. Oh shut up you, have a little patience! He's probably at school right now, or has an exam or something. It is midday here you know. I think what you need is a little therapy. It's not every day you get murdered during the night while walking home after a long discussion on the rules of life and the fairness of God.
  14. Now this is what I call a cool raffle! Awesome idea, and thanks for running this Sinner. Bounty Hunter, it is my impression that this is the Mystery Raffle that Sinner had people signing up for last week.
  15. I saw this featured on BB, and I must say I am impressed. The rock stairs are fantastic, and I eally like how the flooring has been done inside, as well as all the wooden structures. The various defense mechanisms are also great touches. Good luck, I think you most certainly have a chance of getting an honourable mention if not first!
  16. Oh you are so cruel! Poor guy, or should I say, gal. :pir-skull:
  17. Man it is soooo tempting to spend money that I don't have on these. I love MISB sets, especially classic castle, but I just can't afford them right now unfortunately. Ah well, I guess there will be more around eventually.
  18. Come on guys, give him a break. It can be very hard trying to be a game moderator and doing it well, and I think he's done an excellent job so far. Now hurry up and get those results up!
  19. Um, get it? It's a nice set, so if you don't have one it would be worth it, especially on sale. It's a nice army building set as well, if you don't have many droids. In the end, it is really up to you though.
  20. Hi ColdBricks, great to see another kiwi around these parts! There are a few of us here now, I don't feel quite so lonely any more. Anyway, enjoy your time here, and I look forward to what you can contribute to our community. NZ ON!
  21. You moron, don't leave now! It takes away the fun of voting you off as the official village dweeb. Just kidding, thanks for playing mate, we have enjoyed having you on board. To bad you couldn't stay with it to the end, but real life can be like that sometimes, so we understand. Although if I was the game moderator I'd be pretty angry with you. You might want to avoid Tiny P for a while, he might do something nasty. Little reminder not to talk about strategy in this thread please, it can be annoying for other players. Wait a minute. What in the world is a life?
  22. And with that we officially have a 9 vote majority. Now hopefully we'll start getting some clear facts so we can dispel the confusion that has been clouding us these last couple of days.
  23. Ah excellent, a new instalment in my grand scheme to conquer the world! What's that? Hey, who are you calling a bad guy? I'm the good one here... Nice ship Batbrick. But first to the characters and creatures. I like how you have developed the characters somewhat, and the effects of the earlier battle make it very real. Nice use of the robotic parts too, they have been incorporated nicely. My one question is who is the person standing next to Sondra in the second photo? The vultures are great, and although not your best, they are still pretty damn cool! They look so cute for such vicious things. As for the boat itself, you have done a great job. I love how you have managed to pull of the effect of a stranded boat, with the hull on a slanting angle, while making it look like an occupied location. That must have taken you some time to get the deck to fit on properly so you got a flat surface. That feature alone is really neat, but I also like the big cannons hidden under the deck, the ingenious catapult, all the neat little greebly details and the smaller guns on the other side. The tower is also nicely built, what are the windows from? Are they stickered pieces or printed windows? I take it they are from a Batman set or something? I just can't place them. Now, on to the voting, I guess I better vote for what I think is in your best interests (although I still think you should join me. How about you just hand yourself and all your colleagues over to me now, and save me the trouble of rooting you all out. ), so I think I'll go with following the clues to find the buried treasure, and spending time with your lady friend. Those cyborgs can be very dull, don't let her turn into one. Right well, good luck, you'll need it, because we all know Lord Dragonator is going to win.
  24. I don't quite understand that actually, because we had a majority vote earlier in the day. I was under the impression that once a majority was reached you couldn't change it? This game... of life... is getting weirder by the second.
  25. He's not dying because of what a heretic said. He's dying because we can't trust him to tell us the truth. He is obviously lying to us, and whether purposefully or intentionally, it is hurting our chances of survival. There is something weird going on here, and the only way it seems that we are going to find out what is by getting rid of this man who brought confusion with him when he came here. It seems to me that the only way we're going to get some clear answers is if we get rid of him. If you can supply me with evidence to the contrary then that is fine, but until then, my vote stands.
