Mystery Manor - Chapter Three
Dragonator replied to Dragonator's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Yes, I did pick up on that. It would be worth noting at this point that not all editions of the bible read the same word for word... Well, I was saving this for later, but since you're all having such a stressful time solving this single clue, we may as well have it now. Dragonator pulls out a bottle of Talisker single malt Scotch whiskey, aged 18 years. Nothing better than fine Scottish whiskey to help the mind work, aye? -

No I didn't think there would be in the end. Ah well, guess we'll see what happens in Day 2 (not that I'll be around). Oh I see... That certainly clears up some of my identity issues. So "the family" as it is, is more of an organisation of different families come together sort of thing? So by your logic my wife's full name is Alicia Dragonatieri, right? I wonder what my first name is?... Oh hang on, I'm to rich to need a first name. -

Should I take that as a group-made decision or should I wait? -
Indeed, is quite clever with these things, loath as I am to admit it. Although so far these land mines haven't exactly helped us, they've only managed to kill a loyal Front. The fact we would have killed him at the end of the day anyway is besides the point... So yes, anyway, back to the important matter we were talking about. ... Oh that's right...

Yeah, I am so proud of Miss Sandy. -
I have just thought of a troubling thing. In past games... of life, the rats as they were would quite often vote for there own members to make it appear they were more trustworthy. However, in this situation, since the votes are hidden, they will never vote for one of their own. This troubles me as it could make it just that much harder to get a majority vote. Somehow I think we are going to have to be particularly attentive in this game... of life, we appear to be at a major disadvantage as far as I can tell.

Well since you three are the only ones really paying any attention, I thought it was a done decision... Why are you both so mad, you were the two that said you wanted to try it!! Oh, and Michael did sort of agree there at the end, so you could say three for and none against... I'm just going to go hide in that corner over there... A few moments pass. Ahem, anyway, I'm sure you won't be needing that extra chance. Cookie anyone? -

Well, Saul could be it, I mean we must be close to the answer to this riddle. So close, yet so hard to grasp... Anyway, Saul is it? The group wander back to the safe for the third time and try typing in the word "Saul". A loud beep is heard and a third red light appears on the display screen. Oh this is getting ridiculous! The group go back to the library, wondering if the bible would ever give up it's hidden message... -
Right, if we've got all the random-gifts-popping-out-of-nowhere part done, could we try and see if we can achieve something today? Evening is approaching, and that means that very soon the day will be over. And so far we haven't really achieved anything other thn getting an annoyingly arrogant yet loyal Front killed. So, let us move on to the voting, shall we? I find it extremely unlikely we will reach any sort of decision today, however we may as well try. If anyone amongst us has any reason to believe anyone here to be a rat, could they please come forward now and say so. If you have a good reason, then some of us may well support it. However, we will never reach a majority on any of the days if we do not at least discuss who we intend to vote for. So, does anyone have anything to say? I for one want to get home with my wife, so could we try and get this wrapped up soon?

Perhaps I should have set this in a church... Amen! I mean... *Ahem* The Philistine armies would come and fight, but in every battle David was more successful than any of Saul's other officers. As a result David became very famous. -

Yeah yeah, love you too Hinck. Just to clarify though, it should not matter where the spaces are in solving this type of code as long as the letters are in the right order. I'll explain the whole thing at the end if you like. No hard feelings, all will be revealed eventually. Now please lower your fist... *Ahem* Jonathan praised David to Saul and said, "Sir, don't do wrong to your servant David. He has never done you any wrong; on the contrary, everything he has done has been a great help to you. -

Oh well done miss Sandy, very well done! What!? Why me? I don't see an extra letter, although two of the spaces are in the wrong spot. I think it would be a good idea to take another look at the bible. As you will recall, Peter did briefly look at page 318 earlier: The group returns to the bible and opens it up to where Peter had it. Chapter 19 finishes on the next page, page 319. It only contains 24 verses. This bible only contains 1457 pages, so turning to page 1940 is out of the question. -

This is almost more amusing than that Baritones thing on TV... The dead body says you are on the right track, but there is an easier way. -

Well, you'll be glad to hear that I am actually doing something on the front gatehouse. Ain't that cool? Anyway, I have a basic floor-plan started (at least, where the outer walls will be), and I'm currently working on a design for the gates. In realtion to the walls, I'm, um, being a little naughty and not following the official design. Don't worry, it'll still fit with all the others. I decided that since it's the front of the castle it should have at least some ornamentation, so I'm doing arches along the walls instead of sloped bricks at the bottom and at the top. Hope that sounds fine to you ISC. I have a thing for arches. So yes, that is all for now. Carry on. -
Oh no I didn't mean you my darling, I know you would never betray me or the family. I was speaking in general terms; for the general purpose of the matter at hand, we should be equally suspicious of everyone until evidence is provided otherwise. That said, I have always loved you, and always will, and I would never be suspicious of you without cause, my darling wife. Oh, look what I have here! *pulls out a matching necklace for the earrings* I thought you might need something pretty to take your mind off the horrible situation our family is in. Do you like it? Couldn't have said it better myself, although it pains me to think that anyone in our family would even consider selling us out, much less someone of high rank.

Yes, it is quite tough, isn't it? Lord Chester must have over-estimated the problem-solving capabilities of anyone who decided to take a look at these things. That or he isn't very good at making comprehensive clues... Right, I have been discussing with Anthony, and together we have come to the conclusion that this particular code must revolve around letter re-arranging. Perhaps that will help us... -
Is that so? How very interesting, I'll have to pop out and take a look... I wasn't expecting the 2009 January wave of sets to be out on the actual shelves for another week or two!

I really don't know why you would think that... While everyone else stands around in a blank daze, Peter walks around the room searching for a lever or switch of some kind. His efforts prove fruitless however, as he does not find anything. Are we ever going to solve this mystery? somebody cried. Will we ever find a flipping bathroom!? cried someone else. -
I believe what you speak to be truth, we should be equally suspicious of everyone here, regardless of rank. There is nothing to suggest that there is one and only one rat in every group of the family; I do not think the FBI would be stupid enough to have their informants spread that obviously. However based on the fact that everyone at the moment is equally as likely as the next person to be a rat, there is a high possibility that there will be at leat one rat in most of the groups. But we should not use this as our only evidence, we need to find out more, and soon! Ah I see. I must admit that I also have my suspicions that this may be possible, and if it is then we are most certainly disadvantaged. However, if this is the case, which I have reason to believe it may be, then we do have hope, for it would mean that there can't be many rats to begin with. Does anyone else have any reason to believe that the rats can turn loyal members of the family? If anyone does then please share, we need to sort out the truth of this possibility as quickly as possible if we want to be able to act on it.
-
Um, mate, the rats are already here. They are sittin here amongst, us pretending to be loyal and devoted to the family, when they are in fact lying filthy scum selling us to the FBI. So I wouldn't fear the rats getting in here, they already are. What we need to do is try and figure out who exactly they are...
-
I disagree when people say we should not discuss who we are considering voting for; if we don't, we will never vote anyone off! Remember that we must reach a majority, and at the moment that is 11 votes. If we do not discuss who we vote for, then we are unlikely ever to come to a majority decision, something the rats will most likely try to stop us from reaching no matter what. So, I am quite happy to listen to your suspicions and then make a decision on them, as then we are more likely to actually catch someone. LeAnn, I understand you are hesitant to share your reasons, but if you do and the rest of us find them to be good, then we might just support your decision and vote for him too. If you don't share with us then at this point I can see no reason to vote for Boyd. I think that Iris intends us to discuss in full who we might vote for, and then once we have discussed everything, vote for the person we truly think is a rat, going off everything we learned from the discussion. Does that sound likely to the rest of you?

No, you're just jealous of my amazing new hair-do. Face it, my hair is awesome. Who doesn't love my hair? Anyone? *absently twirls a knife* I didn't think so. I am sorry you missed the sign up though, you're a great player in my book. Make sure you don't miss Mystery Castle II (or whatever I end up calling it) later in the year!
