  1. Max examines the pocket watch. It is gold plated on the outside with a silver rim, and a scroll pattern surrounding the edges. There is a dent in the side and when opened (with some difficulty), you find that the glass is also cracked. The time on the watch is stopped at 13 minutes to 11 o'clock. Miss Sandy asks Peter to try his large black key in the lock. Before this however she tries the two new keys. They are both too slim. The large chunky black key which Peter found in the draw, however, fits the padlock perfectly, and turning the key the padlock comes open with a sharp click. The gates swing slowly inwards, creaking ominously. Beyond the stairs lead up further into the house. Up those stairs is the attic, or so I believe. Probably not much to see up there...
  2. Miss Sandy, after looking at the door, pulls on the two sconce's. Nothing happens... Michael walks over to the gates and tries them. There is a large iron padlock holding them both closed. Michael then walks over to the body and searches it. His vest has two pockets, the right one holds a gold pocket watch, the other contains a small keyring with a long thin key on it and a small fat one. John notes that there is dried blood on the body's shirt. Searching the floor does not reveal anything.
  3. That is a very comprehensive list Sandy, it must have taken a while to put together! I never knew there were so many female figs. A very useful resource, thanks Sandy, you're great.
  4. Me? I don't know what you're talking about. It is agreed between Max and Peter, who don't really care what anyone else thinks, to flip the body. Max carefully roles his Lordship over, lying him down on his back. His face expresses a look of panic, and there is a large puncture wound through his torso. Perhaps our doctor could give us a diagnoses?
  5. Thanks TinyP, glad you like it. I'm quite pleased with how it turned out really, I was experimenting a bit in Photoshop.
  6. While debate is going on as to whether they should turn over the body, Miss Sany walks over to the wooden door and takes a look. The door is unlocked, and peering through the grill you find that you are looking into a bedroom from between two books. Evidentially this door is actually hidden behind a bookcase in the other room. Max looks at the body, but cannot see any obvious cause of death without touching it, which Peter objects to. Perhaps we need to turn it over to see anything useful?
  7. ...and the wall begins to swing inwards. Beyond you find a stairwell winding up into darkness. A flash light is conveniently lying on the floor, so Peter picks it up, and the group of detectives (excluding a few who might be in the drinks cabinet) moves up the stairs. You soon reach the next level, where you find something very disturbing. It appears that you have found Lord Chester, and not in a good way. He is most certainly dead. The stairs continue beyond a large, black, wrought-iron gate (stairs not pictured) and in the wall to the right is a wooden door. On either side are two metal sconce's. ********** Remember that to win the game you must answer the following four questions: WHO committed the crime? WHERE was the crime committed (which room)? WHAT was the murder weapon? WHY was he killed (motive)? There is also the optional challenge of piecing together the events of the previous night. Try to find out as much detail as possible. 8. This is surely going to be a must have for me. I'm a great train enthusiast, and I may have missed the Santa Fe sets, but I am surely not going to miss this beauty.
  9. Hopefully in a few hours, we'll see how it goes.
  10. Today I took a trip out to my local Toy retailer and paid off my lay-by. Now, the UCS Millennium Falcon is mine! Muhahaha! I am truly looking forward to building it, I have already opened up the box and taken a look at the massive instruction manual. An excellent buy in my opinion, at only 800NZD (20% off the NZ retail price). I'm sure it will meet my expectations. I also purchased the 10186 General Grevious statue, which looks very sweet. You've got to love those exposed organs.
  11. I just bought 6239 Cannon Battle, my first 2009 set. It's nice to see that we in NZ are finally getting the first wave. I only bought something small because I'm planning on getting my Falcon and General Grievous sets in a few weeks. Anyway, I truly do love the new pirates, and at 12.99NZD, this is a pretty good buy in my book. I didn't see either of the impulse sets, but they should arrive eventually too, I hope.
  12. Sorry to hear you've been hurt Hinckley, that's quite unfortunate. Hope you get better soon. Ah well, it certainly was a very exciting last day, I very much enjoyed fighting for my life. To bad I couldn't convince you all that I was innocent. I really should have shared my list of suspicions before I died. Ah well. It sure will be interesting to see what comes next... You know, I've never been killed in a Mafia game before. It's very... depressing... Now I understand why Hinck was being such a pain in the megablocks during the final days of the Witch Hunt. Oh, Hinckley, Hinckey! Tell me what happens. Do it now! I want to know who the rats are, and I'll keep badgering you until you give in.
  13. That's OK, but look what you've started! I think my efforts were doomed to fail from the very start.
  14. I guess the only way you could prove that were if you were to kill me, and really, I think the only person who would likely want to take that risk without some sort of evidence in the other direction would have to be a rat. No, Iris arranged all that. My wife was sent to Adalaide because Adalaide could be trusted to look after her. The FBI was (and most likely still is) after me, however they were not after Adalaide. Since you're not married, I don't expect youto understand. Look who's talking. I'd like to see you try killing another family member in cold blood just because we all voted for it. You would be balling your eyes out in 5 minutes! Or perhaps someone trying to simply prove their innocence and loyalty to the family. Up until now I have truly trusted you, but your continued blindness to the truth makes me think you must be either stupid, narrow minded, or have some reason to want to get rid of me. I know most certainly that you are neither of the first two...
  15. I must agree with ISC and Sir Dillon on this, it would not work to have overhang to the sides as you don't if it will effect the neighbouring module. A valid question though.
  16. Not much I can really say to that. Um, please?
  17. It appears my credibility is coming under scrutiny, which is rather disappointing in my view. I know that I am telling the truth, and some of you do too. Don't be mislead by the rats in our group, because remember, since I'm the hitman they will be doing everything they can to get rid of me. In terms of being the hitman, I think proof enough can be seen as nobody else has seriously come forward. Sure you can joke around and say that anyone can claim it, but has anyone? No, because you all know that you are not. In answer to you my wife, I am clearly not at home quite often because I am a personal operative of Iris's. Before this whole fiasco I was probably still her hitman, just for other jobs. I can't remember very well what went on before this whole rat business started, it must be all the whiskey we've been drinking. I have no night action, but accordingly I will appear busy if I am out killing whoever is convicted. I guess the only proof I can offer that I have no night action is that I haven't turned up late at all. I have no control over killing Dickie; I was told by Iris that if I ever found evidence that he was having an affair with my wife then I would kill him. Nothing I can do. Now, let's think about this for a moment. For the whole week I have done nothing to hinder our work, and have done everything to try and help us get rid of these rats. Many of you had me on your "to be trusted" lists, and I don't remember any one having a single qualm against me. And now, suddenly, when my wife's affair comes out into the open, everyone is pointing the finger at me. This makes me wonder, for I know for a fact that not everything is fine and dandy with the relationship between Dickie and Alicia. For Dickie was quite the control freak, and has been controlling my wife's voting. That is, until a few days ago, when for no apparent reason she got control over her vote back. I found this very interesting when I was told, and I could only see one reason for it; that Dickie had been converted. That is the interpretation I got, it may not be true, but I thought it worth sharing. Either way, from what it appears, we will find out tonight... You're a bastard and an idiot. I really can't see what Alicia sees in you. That would be because I love my darling wife, and if the FBI were to catch me I wouldn't want her caught with me. I know that I am the hitman, and as I understand it, if you kill me, something "very interesting" will take place. I really don't think it would bode well for you, and I'm sure Iris wouldn't be too pleased. Anyway, you can listen to the people who say I am talking crap, but it will be your own loss. I urge you however to make the right decision and keep me with you. There are only two rats left, do not screw things up now. It is up to you to believe what you will, but personally, I truly hope you make the right choice, not just for me, but for your own sakes as well (mostly for me though ).
  18. I did mention that those first and last letters were correct by coincidence. Well done everyone, that was a bit of a struggle. I'll have the next chapter up sometime this weekend. Thanks everyone for your continued participation, we shall encounter some new and exciting things in the next chapter. Stay tuned!
  19. Here in New Zealand we say anti-clockwise. Now stop posting your incorrect grammar corrections in my closed thread.
  20. You'll get an explanation later. The group returns to the Ballroom, where Peter looks under the chairs. Sure enough, there is a hollowed out space under the right one with the other half of the "key" in it. Putting them together, the group returns to the Parlour and puts the key into the hole in the wall. A sharp click is heard as it settles in place. Turning it anti clockwise, you here a scraping sound and the wall begins to swing inwards... What awaits on the other side of the door? Will the detectives ever find Lord Chester, dead or alive? You'll just have to wait till next time, won't you... End of Chapter
  21. (That's all right, thanks for trying, you guys did get pretty close, especially you. ) Perhaps you should try 15. Since we need to move on I may as well help out with this one. This style of "picket fence" problem requires the letters to be split into 4 groups, or so I understand. I think I must have read it somewhere. Now see what you get. (I can give a full explanation of how to solve this one later if you like.)
  22. I get the feeling he may have forgotten to put a link in...
  23. The reason I am not at home is because if I were then the FBI would arrest me. I am currentl staying in a secure location which Iris arranged for me. She seemed to think that it would be safer for my wife to stay with someone else rather than get tied up in this whole business, which is fair enough, I don't want her arrested too if they find me. No. I am the official Hitman, that is, Iris's one. I only kill people whom we convict together. I am not Quarrioni's personal hitman, I presume someone else is. I trust him as well, he killed the unloyal night killer, which is the only reason I'm coming out with this, that and because you want some more evidence of why I'm trustworthy. I have said the truth, it is up to you if you want to believe it or not. Ah, but you see, I have provided evidence that I am the Hitman, while you have nothing. What evidence do you have that you are the Hitman? Zilch. You see, as I am the Hitman, the "real someone" can't come forward, because I am the real someone. Understand? I think you are grasping at some pretty thin straws if you think I am making this all up. Unfortunately not, as I am Iris' Hitman, not Quarrioni's. I presume somebody else must be his hitman. Thanks for your support though.
  24. Must I do everything myself. I have continued to think on this, and I think I have discovered a bit more. It seems to me that if there are 60 letters exactly in the sentence, then perhaps we need to split the whole thing into sections to read what we want? I don't know, it could work... (come on guys, if you don't get this soon then I'll have to give it too you, because we can't proceed until you do. Where's Anthony when we need him! )
  25. Might I ask what I am leaving out? I cannot speak for the others, but I have explained my entire situation. I really don't understand this sudden negative vibe you are sending my way. Up until now we have agreed on almost everything and now suddenly your just attacking me one post after another. I really don't understand your motives, but all I can do is continue to assure you of my loyalty. As for being the Hitman, that is most definitely me. I mean, nobody else is going to come forward and try to claim to be him, since I'm the real thing. Do you honestly think I would claim to be someone I'm not when the real someone could just come forward and prove me wrong? No, and I don't think your stupid enough to miss that either...
