LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 27. Rumors and discussion
JohnTPT17 replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Guilty as charged! I suppose at least part of how I assign "value" personally is how I can integrate a particular minifigure into a scene/collection of mine - and I don't do a lot on the City front. So, fair enough! -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 27. Rumors and discussion

I would love to get two different animals, plus a Wolfpack minifigure, for $5, but I think that will be a little ambitious. I think the only example I can think of like that would be S19's Dog Sitter, but that minifigure was also pretty basic. I'd rather get a great minifigure plus one animal, than a mediocre minifigure with two animals... But if they could make it work with two, I'm all for it! -

I think Lego knows that Classic Space figures have a huge audience, though. Just look at the prices of Rocket Boy or Space Creature - otherwise pretty basic figures, but that classic space logo makes them very desirable. I don't think anyone is expecting a full-blown classic spaceman, but if there's some kind of classic space torso in there, it'll sell. -

But... But... Muh guessing game thread! ... Just kidding - this is great! 1. The image in my mind is some kind of a hunter, with some kind of animal pelt on his head/belt. I imagine it could looks something like Ninjago's Akita, but in brown/green clothes, and a bear or wolf on top. Bonus points if it actually comes with a wolf... I'll probably want several! 2. I wonder what they can do to go outside of the usual pirate trimmings? I'll probably want at least one, though. 3. About time, LEGO! That's been something people have wanted for awhile. Lots of ways to go with it... Probably want at least one, maybe two or three. 4. I would have though Branchiosaurus would have been next, but Pterodactyls would have been the next dinosaur. Might get one. 5. Could go a lot of ways... Maybe it'll be green, so all of TNBC fans have an offbrand Oogey? Might get one. 6. Sounds kinda dull... Might get for parts. 7. That's... Timely, based on the rising "single cat lady" thing that's making the rounds in US politics right now. My only hope is that the torso doesn't have a lot of hair on it. Probably want one. 8. Well... There was always going to be some generic city junk in there. Might get for parts. 9. I'm sure Lego can find some way to spruce up the idea - at least give the kid a cool new accessory - but it sounds a little dull for now. Still, might get one. 10. Will it be more of a cheesy Hallmark card Cupid, or something a little more grown-up? I'll need to wait for photos... Might get one. 11. Hopefully it will come with a new, non-Friends hamster - bonus if it also has a ball. Might get one. 12. Teddy bear is where my head does first... Dinosaur would be my second, but there's already a dinosaur in the series. Maybe it'll reuse Cuddle Team Leader's head? Might get one. There's already a couple I'm very interested in, and I'm curious about at least 10/12 of these. Overall, pretty solid lineup, I'd say! I imagine we won't get photos for a little while, though - until then, time to dream of that Wolfpack Hunter! -
So... You admit to breaking the Site Guidelines? Multiple accounts, arguing with mods? Yeah, sorry... Your negativity isn't needed here. You're not "fighting against the power" or one-upping anyone - you're just being a jerk/troll.

Now that we have full photos of 21352 - Yeah, that set is really just less than the sum of it's parts. I do think that Simba looks better than my initial impressions (still wish he had whiskers, or maybe printed claws), but overall, the highlight is definitely the minifigures and the rest is pretty forgettable. And, with at least half of these minifigs possibly coming in other sets next year anyways, there's not much of a rush to get this set unless you would really want to be an "early adopter." For now, I'll pass - maybe try to get some of the minifigs loose, but that's about it. -

I would imagine Lego stores could keep an eye on this, but I doubt the average Wal-Mart would notice, or possibly even care, about something like this. It really can't be too different that previous series though, can it? If anything, I imagine it would have been worse for older series, when some of the most popular characters would be limited to only two in a box. And those who don't know/don't care about codes will always just pick up whatever Legos they can find, especially for simple stocking stuffers/other small gifts. And, at absolute worst, I think a lot of people would go back and pick up more dwarves/bards if they were on clearance for $4 or, at worst, $3 - I don't think they would be unsellable. If they did want a better long-term solution, though, I wonder if it would be possible for Lego to produce a retail-exclusive "collector's edition" of the cases, that has more of the in-demand figures and less of the unwanted ones? I imagine they are still being actively produced, so I would think it's possible for them to shift production towards what will sell better in the long-term.- 686 replies

LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
JohnTPT17 replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I'm just as excited by Jabba being just visible at 0:55, just behind Luke. He looks pretty similar to the old one, except that the tan on his face also goes down to his tail piece. If that's what's in the Sail barge, I think most people will be satisfied. -

I'm also usually fine with simple printing on minifigs (I think Daredevil and Punisher look great) - something just feels off to me about Jean. Maybe it's the oversized shoulder pads? The blank expression on the face? The reused (though probably accurate) hairpiece that's been in use for a decade? Poor effort on the arms? I'm still going to wait until we see more before I take a firm stand - I'm just not blown away right now. It looks like a purist custom with a new torso in some ways to me now. -

The Ballroom is easily the most iconic scene from the movie, and should make for an interesting display set. Yes, it would be missing Gaston, but besides Snow White, every Disney set has been missing someone or something. Plus, if we are assuming that the yellow dress is going to be reused, that's the only scene she wears it besides the very end (but that doesn't make any sense for a scene). If she was in her regular peasant wear, it would open up more doors, but that's what I'd put my money on for now. -

Or - since this is the Disney thread - the Madrigal Family? Again, it'd be weird if Bruno was the only minifig from Encanto, and Gaston eventually is getting Belle so he's not alone. -
Just priming it as "fellowship" makes me think of two things: 1. A Shire party scene. Makes the most sense as the next logical place to go, but that does make me think there will be no sign of dwarves. 2. Moria. I think this is more unlikely, but it does actually have the full Fellowship of the Ring together. I suppose it could also refer to the end of the movie, when the fellowship breaks up, but that build would just be two very similar grey statues and a few trees - not quite in line with what's already been seen.

Try the r/legoleak subreddit. It's up on there. Personally... I'm not sold on Jean just yet. To me, this feels like the bare minimum for a Jean minifig, and I'm worried about what that face print could look like up-close. It just feels like Lego is doing the bare minimum to provide a Jean, instead of providing a definitive, premium minifigure which will (very possibly) be tied to a single, very expensive set. Maybe I'll feel better when more images are out though, but I hope the other minifigs do more to blow me away. -

I hope that's a reference towards a full Beauty and the Beast set and not just a nod to the recent leak... Though it sounds like those are mostly 2025 leaks (and I think it would be odd for both Lego and Disney to want one of their most popular princesses to permanently stay as a retail exclusive) -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
JohnTPT17 replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
We just got that with D&D. Isn't that basically the printing under the armor of S3's Samuri? I'd say Ocean King counts. I'd say that the existing centaur's body/torso is gender-neutral enough that all one would need to change is the head. Even the hair works. The original babysitter stood out because babies were new/rare at the time. I think getting a new one would feel like a wasted slot, unless it had some unique torso on both the minifig and the baby. Canonically, she is actually a vampire - she's just obsessed with spiders. From her biography that was from Lego: I'm moreso in a boat that I would like to see some of the earlier archetypes revisited for the sake that a lot of them are over a decade old/could be improved with better printing/are very expensive on the aftermarket, not just so I can "thing from before, but girl" or whatnot. I'd love to get some Roman minifigs, for example, or see a second go at the football player, over a simple gender-swap. Though I'll take any and all gender swaps before I take cars with heads stuck to them for a CMF Series... -

I personally don't mind having two expressions of the same gender on a face. It makes them much easier to play with - to have your characters go from "happy" to "scared," for example. That wouldn't be doable with a masculine and a feminine face on the same minifig. I'm all for having two heads with two expressions, though!- 686 replies

Raya's only in minidoll form, but she doesn't seem very popular, so I imagine she'll be skipped and/or softly be "decanonized," like some other Leading Ladies have been over the years. I'm far more interested in getting Meg or Mirabelle! -

The only things in the original Luxo set are the lamps and the balls - I really don't see what else they could add, unless they do an entire Pixar logo (which feels a little ridiculous). The way I see it, there are basically four options: Keep the project as it is - just one lamp, and one ball. It could make for a cute, more budget friendly set, but it could also be less interesting to those not deeply interested in Pixar. Make it a "Tribute to Pixar Shorts" set, and include a few small vignettes (Tin Toy, For the Birds, etc) to go with the lamp. I think this is unlikely, though., since the project wasn't pitched as a "Pixar Tribute." Make it a Pixar tribute, but focus on the real-life people behind Pixar and include minifigures of them, possibly on some kind of a plaque (kinda like the Disney camera). Think Pete Docter, John Lassater, Brad Bird, etc. I also think this one is also unlikely, partly due to the controversy around some of these men, but also that they would probably make for uninteresting minifigures. Make it a Pixar tribute, centered around the lamp and ball, with 4-5 minifigures to go with it (like Villain Icons or Disney 100 Ideas). This would probably be the most expensive option, but also the most interesting, especially depending on what minifigures/figures/animals they would choose to include. If I were to speculate on figures, I would probably go with one from the early films (Hopefully someone new, like Flik, minifig Stinky Pete, etc), a 2000's film (Boo, or big-body Mr. Incredible), a 2010's film (probably Merida from Brave), and a 2020's film (Probably either Turning Red or Inside Out). These four could then accompany a custom-molded Remy and a mini Wall-E and EVE, or Lightning McQueen to hep round out the late '00-early '10's "Golden Age" Pixar. I think it's obvious that I think the fourth option would be the best (and most popular), but only time will tell! -

Mechs (and microfighters) can be a good way to get individual minifigures, though. If you already have the figure, then sure, you can pass on it, but I think they have a lot of good in the overall market. -

I wonder if they'll keep it as-is, or if they'll make it a little bigger, throw in a few minifigs, and sell it at closer to $100, a-la Disney Villains or the Ideas Disney 100 set. I wonder who they would throw in, if that is the case... There's a lot of good options, and several minifigs I'd love to see, but I also don't know how many sets I want to keep buying with just our semi-related minifigs, half of which are reused in later sets... -
There's also a Youtube video up that has some photos. I just Googled "Lego Wednesday set leaks," and it was the first video to pop up. The gargoyles look quite good!

The brooms could arguably be a "villain," but they're more of an antagonist than anything (and, yes, those are different). Throwing in Pongo would have been a nice touch, and could have even acted as a "pair" for Cruella. And as far as who did make it in - yeah, Mirabelle would have made more sense if it was the only character we're getting, but that just makes me think even more that we have an Encanto set on the way, and they wanted to have a good mix of "really desirable" and "middlingly desirable" minifigs in this set pulled from upcoming sets - if that makes sense. Otherwise, this set could have been a one-stop shop to get all of the main characters, and the draw to get the single-movie sets would be much less. -
He's in the Ideas Disney 100 set. A lifestyle photo leaked this morning - we've been discussing it over in the Disney forum.

Ah - I looked at a photo quickly for comparison, and I thought that Cinderella's were black. Hopefully it's a new print, though... It'd be odd for Cinderella, Wendy, and Belle to all have the exact same face. -

Thanks! It looks to me like Mickey has printing on all of his parts - I don't see any of the usual "sticker edges." if I'm correct, that means that there's at least 16 new prints! Mickey Eyes Sorcerer Hat Lower Sorcerer Hat Upper Geppetto Head Geppetto Shirt Lilo Head Lilo Troso Lilo Skirt Simba Belle Head (I think it's different from the other princesses, due to the brown eyebrows) Belle Torso Belle Skirt Rose Stained Glass Window Bruno Head Bruno Torso Bruno Legs (I think the prophecy piece, Sebastian, and Flounder are all returning prints) I do think Mickey's pose is a little odd. The staring straight forward with a smug impression reminds me of the missile scene from the first Iron Man. And I think Simba looks a little odd - probably the lack of whiskers? At very very least, the nailed Belle, and the other minifigs all look great too!
