I don't know. I feel Lewa's shoulder armor is enough of a defining factor than shoulder placement. But that's just me. Agree with you on Pohatu, though. I was planning on giving him symmetrical arms, but in person, the look is actually pretty cool. Also, opened POE and Onua. Again, amazing all around. So far, POE is probably my favorite Protector. Onua is much cooler than I thought he'd be. The colors are even pretty nice and well-balanced as well.

I do believe it's Ultron's turn.

Yes! That's exactly what I was thinking with the Hordika necks! I'll have to see if I have enough of those so I can do this. It looks great.

Y'know, you could've just lowered the gearbox without needing to add/modify anything. The only issue I had was that the Kaiju fin back armor kinda bangs around where the shoulder armor mounts attach, but it still holds together. Granted, your method does leave the shoulder armor in its regular position. Having said that, obviously I opened Lewa (along with POJ). Both are wonderful. Not sure if I like having Lewa's shoulders lowered, but for the sake of head articulation, I'm keeping it that way.

This is exactly what I thought, and it made me love CCBS even more. I was a Hero Factory fan, so I've always liked CCBS, but it astounds me how much these sets feel like Bionicle and not, as some say, Hero Factory with the Bionicle name slapped on. It's just incredible, and I don't think I'll ever get over that fact. I may have only opened POS and Pohatu, but already Bio15 has knocked it out of the ballpark.

I'm pretty sure he meant it's how the topic started, lol ;) But yeah. It's definitely a fantastic movie that everyone should get the chance to watch.

... I got all the sets today. Only opened POS and Pohatu, and they're both wonderful dudes. I ended up raising Pohatu's shoulders a module. They just looked kinda weird sitting that low. But yeah, awesomeness is everywhere. Bionicle is officially here.

It's 2015! Happy New Year! I'll be going to the Lego Store tomorrow with money in my pocket so I can get the whole lineup. On the app: not really interested. If it's put on the website, then I'll probably play it, but I'm not going to bother downloading it on my phone. Doesn't really look all that great...

So the Ocean HQ is a boat. Hm. I was expecting an undersea base, but I guess a boat is cool. The Antimatter base is... Meh. Could have been better, but I guess it's not terrible. Just seems a little small. The lightning guy is cool, though. Can't wait to get him in a set.

Woah, woah, hold the phone. The Okoto City Concept art image: Is it just me, or does the carving above Onua look very skull-ish and very close to what we have seen of the skull mask from the magazine? Most of it's obscured, but you can make out the jaw bones and teeth along with a brow line. Now I'm positive that the Skull army comes from the Ancient City.

Speaking of masks, I wonder: What purpose do the masks serve for the villagers/Protectors? Is it like the olden days where it provides power to the being? Also, do the Protectors have mask powers? I believe it said in the magazine that they used their masks to shape the island or something along those lines. It'd be cool if they were like the "noble" versions of the Toa's masks: less power, but still able to control the different elements. EDIT: Yep: "The villagers used their masks to shape the island to suit their needs."

We don't know if the Protectors know where he is. Thousands of years passed, so I imagine Ekimu's resting place has been lost to history.

Second one. Also, the Protectors that found Ekimu aren't the current Protectors (the ones we're getting as sets). After all, the Prophecy of Heroes came from Ekimu's lifeless body (however that works) and was passed down through the generations, so they can't be the same Protectors (which also means that they don't have ridiculously long lifespans).

If that's the case, then I wonder what LOSS's motive would be? Has it been confirmed that LOSS is hunting the golden masks? If so, I have a strong feeling that the power of the masks can awaken the Skull Army. And if LOSS doesn't want to awaken the Army, maybe the Toa do so by accident. Or perhaps LOSS once worked with said army, or maybe he's being controlled by Makuta? This is really starting to feel like '01 if Makuta is controlling LOSS. Big Bad (Makuta) controls a bunch of animals (Rahi/Skull Spiders). Once defeated a new threat is awakened (Bohrok/Skull Army). I feel your pain. Here in the US, we had to wait till March to get IFB. Hopefully, stores will break the street date around where you live and you won't need to wait as long.

I'd imagine so. Seems like it'll be the regular "Agents fight a baddie + a large vehicle for one party" deal. All I what is an Antimatter mech for the hideout or a future wave. A giant robot seems like it'd suit Antimatter nicely.

This is a difficult one... Unless deraven's correct (never seen Castle of Cagliostro, so I wouldn't know), care to give a hint? I can't help but think it looks familiar.

It'd be cool to see the MoUP show up, but not explicitly revealed to be as such. Like, we go through the Skull Spider mask, Skull Grinder's mask, and whoever else's mask, and then at the end it reveals itself to be the MoUP all along. But if the MoUP only has one form, I can't see this Skull Mask being it. With the six spikes being the only defining feature on the MoUP, I just have a hard time believing they'd get rid of them. Anywho, my personal theory for this year goes like this: The ancient city LOSS guards is where the Summer wave Skull guys (we need a name for them) are hiding/buried/imprisoned. LOSS, through some exterior motive (possibly Makuta?) is wanting to gain the Golden Masks to use their power to awaken the Skull guys. A basic idea, but something along those lines. Who the Skulls are, I'm not sure. Maybe they fought the Mask Makers for control of the Golden Masks at some point in the past, and the six elemental powers imprisoned them a la Protodermis cage. And how they get out... Maybe LOSS tricks the Toa into breaking them out? It's a rough idea. Also guys, omg, Bionicle is officially released in three days. I'll be going to the Lego Store on Friday where hopefully I'll be able to nab the whole lineup (thank you, Christmas money!).

Speaking of the Protectors, is anyone kinda bummed at how little publicity they seem to be getting? I mean, I understand that the Toa should get most of the character development, but the Protectors have little to nothing, and that makes me kinda sad. Hopefully, with the next animation being "Protectors fight back" they'll get some more spotlight.

My biggest question is why? What is to be gained by bringing the G1 Toa from the past (or future, depending on when you think G2 is happening)? Wouldn't it be easier (and less confusing and complicated) to just make these new iterations of the characters in a new continuity? And if the two generations are in the same continuity, how did we get from G1 to G2? Why is the G2 planet a giant ocean with a (as far as we know) single island? Why are there now six celestial bodies when Spherus Magna had none (or, no significant ones, at least)? Why/how is Ekimu wearing the Mask of Creation: a Legendary Mask that can't be worn by anyone who doesn't have to power to wield it? And something bugs me about what you're saying about character changes. Yes, time and evolution have affects on organisms. But you'd think that the Toa would at least retain their powers. And if not, you'd think their Masks would. Why are their elemental powers now only accessed by their masks? Connecting the two continuities seems like it would open up a big can of worms that just seems unnecessary. Especially when the goal of G2 is to make it simpler and more accessible. ... Y'know, let's just say there's evidence supporting both ends of the argument, and we'll see how all this pans out.

Time is almost definitely going to play a major role in the story. The mentions of Time, the G1 Vahi Easter eggs, and even the mention of a "Mask of Time" all suggest so. But on the Mask of Time itself: is it a way to tie G1 and G2, or is it just a treat for older fans to say time will play a major role? Who knows? But the inconsistencies between G1 and G2 (characters, setting, etc.) suggests that these are two separate continuities.

Two HQs? Nice. Glad to see Antimatter's getting a base, and same with the Ultra Agents.

Okay, sure. Evidence, I have none. But I believe the Vahi references in the animations are hinting at something bigger with the powers of Time. Not necessarily that the exact same Vahi from G1 is going to make an appearance. And no. Because it's a full mask in G2 doesn't imply anything of the sort that the G1 Vahi wasn't finished. I believe you said something about concrete evidence? Listen. I'm very open to different ideas. At this point, I just like to think G2 is a separate continuity. Will G1 make an influence over G2? Who's to say? I'd like to think not. But if it turns out the G1 Vahi (or anything G1, for that matter) plays some sort of role in the future: Cool. I'm just going to sit around and see things unfold. EDIT: Sorry, Scarilian, didn't see your post. I mentioned some stuff earlier in this post about my opinion, but a few things: 1) I don't exactly understand what you're trying to say on your first point. Sorry, wording's weird. 2) "half a mask meant nothing" Talk to the member Darth Vader here on Eurobricks. He clarified what the Lego rep at NYCC was saying about the half a mask. I believe it was basically, "things are going to be different in G2. The Vahi looked like half a mask in G1. This time around it'll look like a full mask". Nothing at all about it being the other half. 3) You missed my italics. 4) True. Good point. No counterargument. Keep in mind, that's Hordika venom. If the Toa were simply plucked from time from G1, you wouldn't think they'd have undergone such wild changes. Aside from the Mask of Time popping up, I can't really see any other possible evidence that it's the same continuity. Keep in mind that the goal of G2 is to keep the story simpler. And does connecting it to a complex, often convoluted story that ended roughly five years ago and began way back '01 really keep things simple?

I shouldn't have said anything... Anywho, artbook? Yes please. The gallery on BS01 will do, but an actual, physical artbook would be sweet. The Bionicle concept arts are some of the coolest things I've seen. @Scarilian: This is a new continuity. It's been debunked that it's the same Mask of Time. The design of the Vahi is a 'half a mask', but that doesn't mean at all that it has a second half. And we aren't getting the whole mask in G2, we're getting a full mask. And the references in the animations are just Easter eggs for the older fans, nothing more. The Toa are also different characters. Their personalities have changed, and, most notably, their mask powers have changed. If these were the same characters, Tahu would still have his Mask of Shielding, Pohatu his Mask of Speed, etc. This time around, their masks control their elements. Now. Can we all agree this is a new continuity?

But we don't know if it's the Mask of Time from G1! :O Kidding, of course. I whole-heartedly believe it's a new mask. But cool the see it confirmed in actual promo material. Concept art is the coolest thing here. Just look at that Skull Spider! Nothing yet. Everything surrounding LOSS story-wise is pretty up in the air. We don't know why he's guarding the city or his motives for sending out his Skull Spiders. I think that (speculation here) the ancient city is where the Summer wave Skull guys are at. LOSS is probably trying to get the masks to awaken them somehow (which honestly sounds really cool). Anywho, onto the magazine: lots of cool stuff. Loving that island map. The more detailed, cartoony version here is quite nice. And apparently the Jungle Region has levitating islands? Sweet. Also did anyone notice the compass made from Constraction parts? I thought that was cool. But what I'm most fascinated about is the concept art on page 2. That Kakama is literally the same as the 01 version. And the Fire and Water region art is also very cool.

The new mask is cool. But I don't think it's the MoUP. As LN-01354 said, there's nothing to suggest it's the MoUP (especially the lack of spikes, unless the mask underwent a design change, which is doubtful). I'm in the boat that says it's Skull Grinder's mask.
