It has been used in dark bluish grey in the Viking ship creator last year and a pearl dark grey in the new city ship with killer whale this summer

I am not buying anything untill then. Last set was Rivendell. Just started building that. Still have not bought Eldorado Fortress and I will also wait with the Viking Village. I really hope it's a remake of the Dragon Masters. If it's just Crusaders or Black Falcons, then I am not interested. And Lego is so consumer unfriendly. They would reach more people if those GWP 's were retail sets. Sets that everybody can afford. Now they are excluding a lot of people.

Oh yes! Already drooling by the idea of it! And more civilians for the castle and pirate theme please . Such a shame there is no merchant and his wife for the ship in this new set. I want the old themes re imagined. Not a lazy copy of something that I allready have that even has better minifigs. I cannot spend 215€ on this set. I am so dissapointed with the prints, the office, the ugly doors,no civilians... Instead I bought Rivendell for 400€. I used my VIP points. And I am not even a Lord of the Rings fan But that set is gorgeous and it got the love from the designers that Eldorado Fortress did not get.

Most people compare the new minifigs with the minifigs from 2015 but why not compare to the original from 1989. Yes they have have blue printing on a white torso and because of that the sides and back are white. But the front looks so much better than the new ones. Am I the only one who prefers the 1989 minifigs over the new ones? Even Jang (my favourite Lego YouTube reviewer) says that the printing quality is bad. I encourage other companies to steal the patent of the minifig and do a better job. Now that's spoken like a true pirate. Yaargh!

I was waiting for Majisto GWP to buy Eldorado Fortress. But the longer I wait, the more I am not interested anymore. Bought a green Dragon knight(new) from Bricklink instead and it has excellent armor and leg prints. My Black Pearl is now my pirate ship and my Black seas barracuda (the new one) is transformed into a trade ship. Looks great with all those CMF. Aristocrat girl, musketeers, swashbuckler, Highwayman and Shakespeare . Also made a small Island with a monkey, parrot, couple of palm trees, a crocodile and the stranded Jack Sparrow. This display looks fantastic. Don't need the Eldorado Fortress. It don't live up to my expectatations. I still have the original one. The new one should have been better and 1,5x bigger like the Galaxy Explorer remake. The doors of the original are better looking and the office is bigger. I am gonna save my money for Bricklinks Mountain Fortress next year from Sleepless Night. That looks amazing! And maybe I will build a Eldorado Fortress moc next year or so from rebrickable. Allready bought the instructions.

Well everybody has a different taste. Did you look at the Bluebrixx Main building only, that's underwhelming but if you combine the 4 modular buildings which are sold seperately, then it's impressive and better then Eldorado Fortress. Just my taste. I will still buy Eldorado Fortress(nostalgia) but I wait for GWP Majisto. And if the imperial soldiers are available at PaB, I will buy all the 4 modular Imperial Fortress sets as well from Bluebrixx and populate them with Lego minifigs. I am not a Lego purist. I like Lego but Bluebrixx and Mouldking as well. By the way : any news on GWP Majisto? I am very curious how Lego did the Dragon Master soldier /knight.

That's a smart move of Lego. There are allready people like me buying only Lego minifigs on PaB and Bricklink to populate buildings and ships from alternative brands. Not because they are cheaper but because they have a wide offer of western, castles and pirate sets. I like the Eldorado Fortress but I like the Imperial Fortress of Bluebrixx more. It consists of 4 modular buildings wich are sold seperately. If you combine them you have a really impressive beautiful Imperial Fortress with a real governors office. I really want a youtuber compare both fortresses. Lego knows this and they try to stop that by not providing those minifigs on PaB. It is really the smartest move for Lego to do. Most YouTube reviewers who compare Lego with other brands are German. Luckily I understand it mostly

OK fair enough. Lego quality goes up and down sadly. 40567 is the best GWP to me. Yes the stickers are dissapointing in the blacktron set. Especially when the original had no stickers. But I can't deside for you if it's worth or not.

I agree but it's a GWP so what do you expect? Still a good GWP, better than the most. I have more a problem with stickers in high end sets like motorized lighthouse and Rivendell. That puts me off! Stickers in high end sets are absolutely a big no for me.

Indeed. The Rivendell minifigs are plain mediocre compared to the 2012 wave. Just watch a comparison video on YouTube. So management of Lego has become lazy and/or greedy sometimes. I am thinking the same. I will buy it. But only when Majisto GWP comes out. Overall I think the Eldorado Fortress is the weakest of the retro sets. Lion knights castle, Barracuda bay and Galaxy Explorer are all 10/10 for me and I got them on day 1. The Eldorado Fortress is a 7/10 for me. -1 for the the open back of the Admirals office -1 for the ugly doors -1 for the printing

Totally agree. I am somewhat dissapointed with the printing, especially compared to their super white pants. They should do a blue print on a white torso if Lego can't do a white print properly. But why should they? They have no competition in minifigs so they become lazy.

Well I hope not. I want a remake of a Black Knight or a Dragon Master soldier with the Majisto GWP. Time will tell.

Me too. I really want the Majisto GWP. The Dragon Masters were my last castle theme in 1993 before my dark ages.

Yes the quality of CMF is superior to regular minifigs. The musketeer is a good one. I have 6 of them. Currently they are the crew of my Black Seas barracuda which is now transformed in a French tradeship.

Sorry. I just had to reply to some comments. And I don't prefer Bluebrixx over Lego. I love them both with a critical open mind. OK back on topic : Eldorado Fortress 2023 Do I like it? YES, but I do understand why some people don't. The building is blocky and not very impressive. That's just the eighties style. Like I said, I prefer if they did a massive 400€ total remake fortress instead of a faithfull remaster. The reason why I will buy it, is because of the nostalgia towards the original (which I still have) and ofcourse... the minifigs.

Yes, sadly that is true. Lego quality is not as good as in the eighties. I experienced a lot of color inconsistencies with colors reddish brown, lila, turquoise and dark red. Even today I experience this. Lego claims to be a high premium product with high premium prices but they don't deliver. The quality is just as good/bad (depending on your point of view) as bricks from Mouldking and Bluebrixx. Imagine you buy a red Ferrari and you notice that the colors of the doors have a slightly different red then the rest of the car. And Ferrari lovers say to you : that's more realistic. That's what some Lego purists do. They defend Lego no matter what, even if the bricks have color inconsistencies and still raise prices. They are totally brainwashed by the Lego corporation. The thing Lego does well, is paying and threating their workers fairly.

Yes, it is! And it's way better than the Lego Black Pearl Lego itself is a clone of Kiddiecraft (the original inventor of the 2x4 brick which has the exact same dimensions as the Lego one ) If Kiddiecraft became succesfull, you did not not want to buy Lego as it is fake Kiddiecraft and as a kid you only played with Kiddiecraft. (This could be an alternate history) And because of the blind loyalty to Lego of most customers, Lego will keep raising their prices. A lot of people will complain but will still buy it anyway. And Lego knows this. I am not loyal to any brand. I buy Lego, Mouldking, Bluebrixx and I mix it all together. There is no color difference. My Black Pearl looks amazing with Lego minifigs and my western scene looks great with Lego CMF cowboys, sherrif, outlaws and some other Lego minifigs that fits in there.

The Black Pearl is 76cm or 3 baseplates in lenght,costs 150€, has 2850+ pieces and has a whopping 18 working canons which are identical to Lego canons! And if you do to the rigging with actual string(annoying yes) , it becomes really an impressive beauty!

I like how it is... however... I prefer if they did a massive 400€ Eldorado complete remake without boat. Yes Lego released a lot of very expensive sets but they are all licensed garbage to me. The only real expensive set I bought is the Lion knight castle on day 1. For me the best set ever. I also bought the Galaxy Explorer. Never had the original. (was not born yet) I am from Belgium and I live close to Aachen Germany where one of the many Bluebrixx stores are located. I allready bought some western sets from Bluebrixx and the Black Pearl from Mouldking. (yes, Bluebrixx sells also Mouldking). I have to say : I was very impressed with their products. Nice designs and good quality bricks and the price is mostly the half or 2/3of what you pay at Lego . Shipping to Belgium is always 10€ no matter what you buy. So if you're interested in some sets, best to buy several at once so you only have to pay shipping costs once. It is nice to see some good competition. I think Bluebrixx is the only company that can actually challenge and compete with Lego!
