  1. I have actually since sourced 2 pcs of 3748 service kits (headlights for the Santa Fe). Need to find 2 more potentially. Haven't fitted them yet. And yes, the pricing of the bricks alone for the build is not something easily swallowed. /M
  2. Got the first of my 3 preorders from JB Spielwaren today. It looks like there is not enough stock to fulfil all preorders initially. Lets hope they stay on track :) /M
  3. Instructions can be obtained here for a little fee: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-157489/BricksWorks/santa-fe-emd-fp45/#details Stickers custom to my build can be got from BrickStickerShop here: https://www.brickstickershop.com/Custom-Sticker-Rebrickable-MOC-157489-Santa-Fe-EMD-FP45-by-BricksWorks /M
  4. Meh ... JB Spielwaren just mailed me and it looks like there were quality issues with the tracks. Some parts had to be produced again. Orders are pushed to mid-October. :( /M
  5. Fed model og vel gennemført. (Great model and well done build). /M
  6. The Metroliner Club Car (and it's re-release) are also the only sets that have the windows used in the El Capitan Sky Lounge. And equal culprit. The expansion certainly didn't come cheap, but it's such a legendary train, I figured it deserved a go. On the curves: my layout has near to no R40 curves and only the 9V portion has R40 switches, but even that will change shortly. It certainly helps. /M
  7. I'm looking forward to in about a week, when FXbricks start shipping their 9V switch tracks. The outer track and 2 tracks through the railyard will then also be 9V. On pricing. Yes, especially the Santa Fe and the Emerald Night sets have gotten prohibitive. Unfortunately. /M
  8. I've build these 2 camera railcars for recording. I haven't used the one with the Sony cam yet, as it's a recent addition, so don't know, how that one will work out, yet. But all the recordings in that video were done with the DJI Action 2 on that railcar. /M
  9. Thanks. 4 pcs 9V motors. I had originally fit 6 motors (2 on each B-unit), but that was way too much draw for the regulators to even move the train. I reckon, upgrading the regulators is next down the list. Then again, I wouldn't run it as a full consist normally. It was great, that it worked though. Ball bearings are also on the list, to fit. Yes, table football and pool table in the livingroom. I even used to have a pinball machine. Some day maybe again. Most of the video was recorded using the DJI Action 2. It has the perfect size to go on a camera railcar. /M
  10. I've always been a fan of the 10020, 10022 and 10025 sets. I have a full set with 2 limited edition locomotives, a set of rebricked 10022 and 10025 railcars in new greys and i've even created my own EMD FP45 MOC. After getting my hands on a Santa Fe Pleasure Dome railcar, I found out, that instructions for a B-unit and a full Hi-Level El Capitan consist exist. So over the timeframe of about 3 months, I've gathered all the light and dark grey bricks, that I needed to build these. The entire consist are 2 limited edition 10020 Santa Fe EMD F7 locomotive, 2 F7B B-units (each with a 9V motor), 3 x 10022 (dining, observation and sleeper car), 2 x 10025 (railroad post office and baggage car), Pleasure Dome and 6 Hi-Level El Capitan railcars (I build 2 Transition Coaches, one for each end). To be able to even move this train on my fairly large layout, I need 3 regulators along the track and I had to replace the magnets with stronger ones, which were sourced from Bevins Bricks and Lifelites. The stickers on all cars, that aren't official sets, where sourced from BrickStickerShop. I also build the entire consist in Stud.IO, because it's actually not that easy to find the space to take decent pictures of it. I tried none the less. Here is a video, that goes through every railcar with breakouts and has the trains driving at the end. It's been fun building this. It's even more fun seeing it in motion. /M
  11. Got the last parts and my stickers. Here is the final result: /M
  12. That's because you're only looking at Series 2 and haven't checked Series 1 :) /M
  13. I went back to the picture and I had indeed not paid attention to that detail. Here is an updated render, taking that into account. /M
  14. Hmm. I'll have a look at that. I've literally just taken that approach from 10020 (the F7). Thanks for pointing that out. /M
  15. 41 hours torture of my PC here's a Stud.IO render:
  16. I build 10022-1 in Stud.IO today for reference with the FP45 MOC. What a horrible mess. Especially pinning the bogeys together and getting the roof in place. The result was worth it though. It shows, how well they fit together. Yes, the loco is new greys and the carriage is old greys, but that's actually not too bad, as long as it's not a mix within the same carriage. /M
  17. Or maybe just using a train window to indicate the door like this: Probably the best way to do it. /M
  18. This would be with half a plate in. Compared to the original plate: /M
  19. This approach could be taken to the door Or the original bracket used, but turned around with a sticker. /M
  20. I didn't go with longer for 2 reasons: I started with a traditional train base, (which I actually already have extended by a few studs and then there is indeed that issue R40 curves. If I had gone longer (as the RP45 is), then I could also have gone with 3 axle trucks. So the length is indeed intentional. /M
  21. Latest iteration. Front doors still work in progress. Imagine 10020 sticker set being used for Santa Fe war bonnet, side logo, windows (bulleye) and fans. I have confirmed with BrickStickerShop, that they actually can make me a custom sticker sheet. So it's even getting the 108 numbering. /M
  22. Hah. Well, the locomotoive will be lower than most of the rail cars, but that is, what the baggage dorm car of the El Campitan sorts the height difference out with it's scoop. /M
  23. You are correct. On the EMD F7, James masked it by ending the line in the grille and then going 2 studs on the roof. He could have gone single stud with Slope, Curved 2 x 1 x 1 1/3 with Recessed Stud, which he uses extensively for the door frames and in other places, but then he would have needed to build the entire roof with those or the 4 wide variant of them. As I'm using the slippers, I can easily enough go 1 stud wide. I might look at that. /M
  24. The door is not fully there yet, for sure. I also am still looking at how to show the bulleye window on it. The warbonnet actually goes that far back on ATSF 108. I found a video of it, when it was restored 4 years ago and relaunched. On the left hand side, it actually has the bulleye of the middle door in the red. It does not have a middle door on the right hand side. So I was playing around with l, how I'd get that integrated. Additionally, I've had to redo the MOC in LBG and DBG last night, because the slippers (1x2 45 deg slope with cutout) only were launched in 2011 and never came in old light grey. /M
  25. The roof is in line with the Lego 10022 and 10025 sets. I'll post pictures, once I have it actually build. /M
