  1. Attaching an electric drive to Lego Technic is not the biggest problem now. You can find many projects on GitHub. But the main problem will be in the Lego parts - huge backlashes that cannot be calibrated or compensated will nullify all your efforts to program mechanical actions. To get an accurate mechanical response (movement, rotation, etc.), you need to use a stepper motor with feedback - there is simply nothing like this in Lego - this is a children's toy for learning the basics of robotics or inadequately moving cars. If you are satisfied with this level of control, then you can do this and get a lot of good emotions from the errors in their work.
  2. You understood the meaning of this word correctly. There is an old Soviet joke about "finishing with a file". In this case, the need for such finishing is sad, but it is better than when the part is cast with irreparable errors. Such parts also come across.
  3. Buyers in Russia also complain about this copy. The problems are the same - old tires, old #3 connectors are used instead of new #7 connectors, low-quality and broken parts. It is quite possible to assemble a G500 without the newest parts - it will be a fully functional analogue with an appearance close to the original in a color available to you. I showed it here Unfortunately, the quality of Chinese Lego copies is getting worse and worse. For me, the worst copy was the Peugeot 9x9 - I returned it to the seller half-assembled, because it was very difficult to disassemble. I recently bought a copy of the McLaren P1 for 44 euros. It also has problems with the quality of the parts and they had to be finished with a file.
  4. If you remember that this toy is not made for "big boys", then everything is very good.
  5. You are right that Lego doesn't care about the Lego Technic community. It only wants to sell more. For this purpose, new parts are constantly being introduced to increase interest and protect against copying. Lego also fights copy-pasters with its licenses for parts and they are forced to cut them into pieces, which complicates assembly. But given the limited size of apartments (or houses), no one can buy Lego sets indefinitely, and the secondary market is also not bottomless. I have already started assembling the most interesting new Lego Technic sets from what I already have - information on my assemblies of the Audi E-Tron and Mercedes G500 is published here in the relevant topics. Maybe it's time to create a topic with this direction - replacing new parts with functional analogs from old parts and assembling new models from them.
  6. Some kind of unclear policy for new products - on the one hand, the instructions are kept secret, and on the other hand, the reviews show these instructions with lists of parts and step-by-step assembly of the model. Why not post the instructions right now, instead of waiting for the start of sales.
  7. If you are talking about panels 64394/64680, they are unchanged. The only thing that confuses me is the panel under the tank. This part is really new, but it is quite possible to install glass from BMW 75544pr0001. The color of the parts is not so important - with others it can turn out even more interesting than the original.
  8. There is very little attention from the community to motorcycles in Lego Technic, and even less to the scale 1:5. Quite an interesting model with free instructions, suitable for assembly during the New Year holidays, provided that it does not contain any difficult to replace new parts.
  9. On the Panlos official website you can see the full instructions for this motorcycle, and by changing the lower digit in the link, you can also see the instructions for other motorcycles from this manufacturer. http://instructionspanlos.wanjushuo.wang/Instructions/Detail.aspx?ItemNo=672101 Unfortunately the speed may be very low, but the same instructions can be found in the YWOBB library.
  10. From the latest books on Lego Technics I also came across an album with pictures by the famous author "Yoshihito Isogawa - LEGO Technic Non-Electric Models - Simple Machines (2021)". It might still be for sale.
  11. In my library there are 3 more books by this author published in 2013-2014 about Lego Technics and Mindstorm robots.
  12. Mark Rollins - The Ultimate LEGO Technic Book: How to Build Complex Vehicles and Machines (2024) I recently came across this book - it describes the creation of a car in Lego Technic from a general description of the parts to the creation of entire units. The book was published this year and in the US you should easily find it on sale.
  13. There are also big problems with the strength of Lego Technic constructions. Until recently, I thought that the 3L bar (87994) inserted into a round pin (61332 or 66906) blocked its exit from the round hole, but in the instructions for the new G500 it turned out that this is not so - see steps 28.6 and 29.6 of the instructions for 42177. To strengthen the structure, you will have to use bolts and nuts, screws or superglue.
  14. The CADA version has too many small "bricks", so the weight will not be 1 kg more, but maximum 0.5 or less. Another problem with these "bricks" is that they will fall off even while you are working with the model on the table. IMHO, a large Lego Technic model for high-speed motors should be developed specifically for these purposes, ensuring increased structural strength and certainly without "bricks". Otherwise, it reminds me of funny tests on the topic - which Lego Technic supercar will fall apart faster if you put a 5 kW motor in it.
  15. The Chinese released the Ferrari SP3 in 5 more colors, perhaps the McLaren P1 will suffer the same fate - I hope they will definitely release a red one, or maybe it will even be red like the G-Class.
  16. The adequacy of the price depends on the income level in the country - somewhere even 3 euros will be unacceptably expensive, and from Russia, even if I wanted to, I simply won’t be able to buy anything from you. Chinese Lego competes in price (with acceptable quality) not only with Lego, but also with MOC - for 10-15 euros you can get a beautiful box with 1000-1500 parts and printed instructions, and not just a poorly made PDF file.
  17. If the community around Lego Technics was more massive and democratic, there would already be an analogue of the Rebrikable website without the "only Lego" restrictions - all existing parts and publication of any models would be available. And in the current reality, Chinese Lego competes in price (with acceptable quality) not only with Lego, but also with MOC - for 10-15 euros you can get a beautiful box with 1000-1500 parts and printed instructions, and not just a poorly made PDF file.
  18. An excellent example of creating a car exterior in the Lego Technic style without plugging holes with "brickwork".
  19. The use of a specific type of Lego parts determines the style of the model. Mixing styles is a matter of taste for the authors and consumers. I like "non-studded Technics", and I consider a large number of bricks a disadvantage of the model. IMHO, maintaining the purity of style is also an art. In Technics models, not only design is important, but also functionality. There are a number of Technics models where the authors managed to get an excellent look without using brick superstructures. On the other hand, Technics parts are used in brick construction as decorative elements.
  20. I thought that the Chinese produced a defective product for Ferrari, and you say that the original ones are also very tight?
  21. Thank you. You came at the right time. Judging by the discussion, I can say that everything is fine with the sale and I am afraid in vain. Let's close this discussion. Time is the best judge.
  22. On YouTube with videos about Lego and around it people clearly earn more than from selling instructions. You need to look not at the number of registrations, but at the attendance - the figures for long-standing forums can differ by orders of magnitude. I also know the German lepinboard - they discuss things that are not allowed here, but everything is even sadder there - entire sections are not updated for a year. Reddit also has a number of interesting threads, but these are not your clients.
  23. To my regret these figures fully correlate with the attendance of this site - 100-200 members and up to 1000 guests and bots. If your sales are an order of magnitude higher then I can only be happy for you, but where are all these people - this is the most popular forum of Lego technics in Europe and the world.
  24. Thank you very much for your honest answer. Your words fully confirm my assumptions. If you feel the desire and strength to do this, then it is quite possible to conclude a contract with a well-known Chinese brand to develop models. If this does not contradict your principles. European companies 20 years ago without a twinge of conscience transferred production to China - money does not stink anywhere, even in silence.
  25. Look at the hit counter of this site and tell me again that I'm wrong. In addition to the price, there is another very strong psychological barrier - the need to pay. Do not confuse a hobby with the services of a plumber.
