  1. Hey now, we all got that ugly tree with the birthday sign and a tent. But in all seriousness, they covered the parts of the Shire that are focused on in the films, namely Bagend and Bilbo’s birthday party. There really wasn’t much else that people would recognize. Heck, I’d argue most people didn’t even recognize all the minifigures included. With Minas Tirith, the focus was divided between the topmost level (tree and healing house) and the battle outside, with some notable scenes also giving attention to the interior. Not to mention, the shape of the city is fairly distinct and recognizable. It’d make sense for them to capture the shape of the city, even if they do scale it down significantly like they did with Barad-Dur. There is one thing though I am fairly certain we can both agree they won’t cover - Faramir’s funeral pyre.
  2. Kinda surprised this is the next one. I thought they’d do Helm’s Deep first so they could reuse Theoden and generic riders of Rohan in the inevitable Minas Tirith. The last two sets had eight new minifigures each. I’d assume those would take up at least two slots with another three taken up by a new Aragorn, Pippin, and Gandalf the white. Denethor II, Faramir, Eomer, and Eowyn should all ideally be there as well as some ghosts. Seems like a lot of new characters to cover, I wouldn’t be surprised if some didn’t make the cut. I’d also assume reuses of Merry, Gimli, and Legolas from Rivendell, The Mouth of Sauron and orcs from Barad-Dur, and the Nazgûl from the Fell Beast.
  3. Depends on your definition of decent. If you want a bunch of new characters, you’re screwed. If you just want high quality versions of different Batman and Joker with lots of printing, you’re probably still screwed. If you want 3 generic Batman minifigures, congrats, you’re Lego’s target audience.
  4. This forum has turned into an episode of Blues Clues.
  5. I’m also wondering about TLBM, because if he included that, the list becomes pretty short. As far as being a secondary of primary villain, it does sound like he’s talking the primary villain. He also said the film would focus more on Bruce Wayne this time around. Here’s who I think it could be: - Hush (based on his connection to Bruce Wayne, also hinted at in the first one) - Court of Owls (somehow tie that into his parents, also has been hinted at) - Hugo Strange (Bruce’s psychiatrist) - Mad Hatter (loose adaptation of BtAS Perchance to Dream) - Simon Hurt (reimagined as a distant relative and not an ancestor) - Kite Man (explore Bruce’s irrational fear of kites )
  6. We can rule out Dawn of Justice because they would have to include Superman In all seriousness though, this would be my guess for the three Batmobiles. Hopefully the ‘66 Batmobile had Batgirl or at least Robin. In other news, Matt Reeves said the villain for The Batman sequel hasn’t been in a movie before. So there’s a good chance we haven’t seen that villain in Lego form before.
  7. And Wolverine because he’s Wolverine.
  8. I’m betting one is a Sentinel with Nightcrawler. Maybe 76334?
  9. With the buildable Iron Man and Hulkbuster, I think that leaves 3 sets still to be revealed.
  10. That doesn’t count. That’s like agreeing that water is wet. As far as the smart bricks are concerned, I wouldn’t be surprised if they got integrated into DC sets. But I also wouldn’t be surprised if DC is too irrelevant to get the smart brick treatment. Either way, sounds like a dumb gimmick and I have no intention of making my Lego sets “smart.” If they do somehow catch on, I just hope they don’t drive up the price of future sets too much and that we actually get something worthwhile in terms of sets.
  11. Best in concept, sure. But it cracked minifigures legs so the execution clearly wasn’t there.
  12. I think it’ll depend on how drastically it changes and how long it’s on screen for. Lego is clearly willing to allow for some inaccuracies to save money on printing, but if he gets the white costume and wears that for most of the second movie, I can’t see them reusing the green costume variant for that.
  13. Longer than the super jumper, shorter than the buildable figures and comic books. Mechs will remain undefeated as the best superheroes theme gimmick.
  14. Just because he’s the main character in both doesn’t mean his design will be consistent throughout. I can’t think of many examples where a character wore the same costume for even two movies in the MCU.
  15. 5 reboots in a decade, and people had the audacity to say the DCEU wasn’t comic accurate.
  16. Probably will have a bigger impact on the DCU than anything else, tbh. And I’d be surprised if there were even many changes there.
  17. That’s the set we all assumed was a logo, yes? Seems like a Batman logo with a handful of minifigures would fit that description.
  18. Superman toys and merchandise supposedly sold well and the film itself was the highest grossing CBM of the year by a good margin. 3rd highest grossing domestically and 7th internationally, so far (and now that the summer is over, that’s not likely to change). Lego would be stupid not to make at least one set based on the sequel.
  19. Gentlemen, let’s not get ahead of ourselves.
  20. I want to make a joke about how “Oh, wow, I can’t believe we’re finally getting obscure characters like Two Face” but Two Face has actually been surprisingly absent from the superheroes line. Even during the “golden age” of the theme he only appeared twice in seven years, if you ignore TLBM. The figure we got this year was his first appearance in 6 years. Honestly, a proper comic Two Face would be incredibly welcome.
  21. Games usually aren’t a great reflection of what we get in terms of sets. For example, Lego Batman 2 reused designs from Lego Batman 1 for Penguin, Mr Freeze, and Scarecrow despite them all appearing in the next wave (you could argue that the designs weren’t ready in time for the game, except both Aquaman and the Bat-Boat appear exactly as they look in the next wave). Beast Boy and Deathstroke look nothing like their Lego Batman 3 variants when they appeared six months later. Nor do the Javelin and Invisible Jet that appeared less than two months after the game’s release. Almost nothing from the 2019 sets ended up making it into Lego DC Supervillians. But, even if that was the case, we’ve already seen comic variants in the game, so it’s a moot point. Plus, that hairpiece wouldn’t even work for Batman Forever Two-Face.
  22. Interesting. I wonder if this means Two Face will be appearing somewhere this year. A remake of the white and black suit is long overdue.
  23. Batwing is so popular half the forum mistook him for Batman when he was first leaked and the other half continued mistaking him for Batman for another two weeks afterwards.
  24. Lego, please make me a Lego Peacecycle.
