  1. Eidolon makes a half angry hiss, and a half sadistic chuckle. "Ohh, you poor Druid. You underestimate your own killer! Mankind will work as an umbrella term... so the beautiful slaughter will include every single humanoid. I wish to thank you, you verminous werewolf. Because of your impudence, I now know to track down and end each of your pathetic kind there is! Of course, all credit will go to you for the genocide." It was a fight to the death with the titanic beast before them, the Progg driven mad by his bottled rage: Eidolon. Unfortunately for the party, this entire battle was to be a violent catharsis for the viscious Emperor. Alex hits a piece of Rubble, but the fall disorients him: it sin't enough to deflect it. Elgar shoots a ball of ice and Eidolon's now bare wings, the rest of the wings burnt off by Roni. Sylph clutches his scroll as he falls upside-down, headfirst, being cautious not to let the storm's savage winds rip it out of his hands. Miraclously he succeeds twice, both of Eidolon's gauntlets now Fragile. Galen scores a tremendous hit on one of the Gauntlets while a piece of rubble careens into Johon. Galen rights his stance, trying to stand straight while plummeting down at terminal velocity. He lobs his wrench at a piece of rubble, the hit being enough to deflect it into the Emperor. The beast suffers some damage, as well as having his carapace slightly weathered. The party continues to do well... until it becomes Eidolon's turn. He goes berserk on Alex and Elgar, hitting them with his untargetted limbs. He proceeds to swipe at the undestroyed pieces of rubble, the airborne debris hitting the paladin and the evoker. 2. Typos, typos I tell you! Meh. My rig has BSOD'ed during 48. 8 feet would be a slap to the wrist.
  3. QM Note: Free hits go down the battle order. You are leaving open both wings and the tail (Levels 27, 27, 30.) Alex: 27/2=14-13=1 damage. Sylph: 27/2=14 damage Sylph: 30/2=15 damage 14+15=29 damage = Sylph is a goner.
  4. QM Note: The tail only applies to hit-all attacks you dish out. His specials will always work to fully capacity. I'll let you adjust your Battle Order, then I'll write Eidolon's reply. Also, DLL, unless I am mistaken... You will take a free hit from both one of the wings and the tail. It'll knock you out, even from the back row.
  5. "Have I still not crushed all hopes out of you? Try not to look down, little werewolf. Ha! Not even Ennoc himself could stop you from going splat!"
  6. There, I fixed it. Act scared.
  7. QM Note: I have gone back, warped the fabric of reality, and increased the size of your fall exponentially - 8 floors, thank you! You guys are seriously in a life-or-death situation, suspended in free-fall against a 6 ton electric beast of pure malice. I call this one the "Snarksquasher."
  8. His wings are already crippled - Roni fried them. He is literally falling, just like you. If he is going to hell, he is determined to drag you with him. 8 floor. Did I say foot? Was my sanity ever NOT in question? I mean, just look at a Progg... I'm confident you can beat this guy, 48ers!
  9. Worry not, I have a contingency plan in (the unlikely) case of failure! "If" is what makes the battle enjoyable! And blame DLL, he forced my hand. No, but seriously, you have Punii (currently weakened, but not entirely), a Raider, a Druid, a lucky Rogue that can attack from the back row. Oh, and a fair portion of Danny's science notebook. DLL, yes, if you strike down his wings you will be able to cast Fragile on him - Fragile and fragile only, though. One of the aforementioned holes in his defenses.
  10. It wouldn't do squat anyway, only boulders can lower his ludicrous SP right now. Hard battles are good! And you got double EXP and a boat load of loot from the Fungeon. Besides, I purposely designed specific holes into him... they may be small now, but get your priorities straight and they can become gaps in his defenses you could drive a truck through. Besides, it'll only make it more rewarding when you strike the bastard down.
  11. This is completely doable. It is all just a question of prioritizing.
  12. If you think about it realisitically, Eidolon shouldn'tve even been able to finish that first sentence while falling. But I'm happy with my choice of setting for this little bout.
  13. FALL TO FATE!

    1. Dannylonglegs

      Dannylonglegs

I'm all over Fate, I'm dating Destiny now.

  14. Crikey that was a long post! Well, 48ers, this is it - my final trump card! The final battle of the Progg story comes down to a game of Extreme Tennis...
  15. "I don't die because I have purpose. I do not die because I am superior. Your only purpose on this Olegaia is to spread your own plague... I will snuff you out, one at a time, if need be! That vow extends far past your despicable little party, heroes... it spreads to every single verminous human on Olegaia!" Round Twenty-Two of the Final Battle! >Punii mixes jellies: 6 is rolled: 40 damage to all enemies, disregarding SP! >Alex VS Wing L (back): Damage Hit (10+19=29/2=15 damage) >Sylph blinds Aerial Progg A (back): Failure! >Sylph blinds Aerial Progg A (back): Failure! >Elgar blinds Aerial Progg A (back): Failure! >Galen VS Eidolon's Tail (back): Special Damage Hit (10+17=27x2=52-12=40 damage) ...? The cruel duel rages on. Punii mixes his jellies and lets out a devestating explosion, the immense shcokwave ravaging the flying collosus before them. Elgar and Sylph try to cripple the new arrivals furhter, but fail. Galen winds back his arm, ready topractically launch his wrench at the Emperor's tail. He narrowly rolls out of the way of a bolt of lightning shot by the tail, Eidolon cursing over the miss. The turbanned rogue decides no wind-up is neccasary and pelts the wrench at the weakened tail, the weapon getting half impaled in the limb. Eidolon hisses, jerking his tail to the side to get the wrench out of him. A spurt of blood releases from the tail as he does so, the elastic attached to it nearly flining Galen clean off the tower. However, Galen stand shis ground and stops himself at the edge of the tower, clutching a battlement to avoid slipping off entirely. At that moment, a purple streak familiar to Alex zooms through the sky - for he had rode it once before. Alex gives a slight grin as he realizes who was coming to their aid. Cutting through the savage winds, the purple blur flies over the party and takes a sharp turn, going behind Eidolon. The Emperor turns sideways, careful to keep a close eye on both the heroes and the new arrival. The vehicle slows down nearly insantly, its shape becoming distinguishable. A flying carpet hovered in the air, the enchanted fabric rippling in the fierce storm. What surprised the heroes more then the impromptu ride was its occupants: Howard Dini was no surprise: he clutched at the carpet's manual controls, trying not to be thrown off of the carpet by the massive storm. What surprised them more was the second occupant: Roni! The young girl stood resolute, holding her ground. Eidolon's climbing rage seems to dissolve, and he goes into a fit of howling laughter at the sight of the young child opposing him. Having throttled Ancient Dragons in his one-thousand one-hundred five years, the young mage seemed to be of absolute no threat to the maddened Emperor. "Hah! So it seems you've finally snapped, Dini! Stripped of your wands and your power, you come to fight me still; even dragging a child into this bloodshed!" Electricity coils up his exposed arms, crackling in the heavy downpour. They flicker pink, one of the most powerful bolts the Emperor had mustered thus far. He twirled the bolt of lightning around in the air like a whip, waiting for just the right time to swat down the carpet... "No matter. You'll have the honor of dying at the hands of an emperor, just like all the rest." Dini fixes his hunched over posture, now standing straight. Determined, he spits: "That is what you think, fiend. You shall go down as the only monarch to die the first day of his reign! Roni, my dear, do just as I taught you -- Fire!" The child nods. Closing her eyes, she places her hands together in front of her chest with thumb, pointer, and middle fingers joined. The girl begins to levitate above the surface of the carpet in spite of the charms holding its riders securely upon it. She hangs there momentarily, motionless, unaffected by the rage of the storm. Breathing deeply, she raises her hands above her head, separates them, and reaches outward, bringing her arms slowly to her sides. The moment her arms hang vertical, everything grows calm; for a few short moments, no sound can be heard atop the tower, save that of Roni's heartbeat, which seems amplified in the silence. The feeling of static in the air is abruptly cut off, and a faint pinkish glow spreads from the girl's palms, enveloping the rest of her body in an instant. Roni's head is thrown back as a beam of pinkish-white energy erupts from her sternum, smashing into the armored titan with enormous force. Everyone stands in sielence over the magnitude of the child's attack. Sound and energy rush back into the space as the spell ends and Roni drops, Dini managing to maneuver the carpet back underneath her just in time. The young girl is exhuberant, but exhausted; she looks to the aftermath of her spell with a kind of tired delight. "I did it? I did it!" Eidolon draws a few sharp breaths, shocked by the power the child weilded. He was thrown backwards, his wings let ablaze from the blast of ether he had been slammed with. The storm surrounding them all seemed to waver, as if also startled into silence. The Emperor's bewilderment lasted only a few moments, the surprise melting away only to be replaced by pure rage. Any mask of composure slipped off at that second - for he no longer intended to wear it. The Progg had bottled up his rage for the past one thousand years, allowing it to gnaw on him and whittle down his sanity. He was being of pure hatred and wrath. For the majority of the fight some of his rage had been leaking out, but Roni's stunt had broken a dam in the Emperor's mind... a dam holding back every single morsel of rage the beast had harbored for his entire life. "Yes. Yes, Roni. Youd did it. You most certainly did it." This rare moment of tranquil fury hardly last any times at all. The storm suddenly flares up, reaching a level of severity it never had previously in a single second. The storm was certainly mimicking its master. Eidolon was reduced to savage state, his voice laced by malice and his body engulfed by electricity. The storm amplifies the Emperor's maddened speech. "You fools! You verminous FOOLS! You will not leave this place alive! Your impudence was atleast mildy entertaining for some time... but no more! I am done toying with all of you! I, for some reason, felt the need to hold back my rage, just the sake of maintaining a composed image... And yet, that got me nowhere. What folly it all was! GAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA! Congratulations, heroes! You did it! You've peeled through the layers, and now you see the true Eidolon. Was it worth it, heroes?! Was whittling down my sanity to witness my madness worth your lives?" Even the Aerial Proggs seem to cower at their lord's untempered malice. He was holding back no punches, consumed by his untempered malice - his mind fixated on the idea of bloodshed and killing. As if demonstrating this, he fires off a monstrous bolt of lightning at the carpet. The rippling corona of energy seems to manifest instantly, Dini having little time to react. The magician manges to pull Roni close and veer partially out of the way, the section of the carpet Roni was standing on now singed black. Dini steers the carpet around the strom-tattered skies erratically, his carpet damaged. The party hs no time to watch the spectacle, for the deranged Emperor tursn his attention to them. They take a few steps back, frightened by the bloodthirsty Emperor. "Hear me, heroes! Eubric teeters on the brink of calamity. And I, Emperor Eidolon, will gladly be the one who forces that forsaken city past the threshold of despair! Eubric will burn to the ground, and your precious Heroica will suffer the same fate. Can't you just imagine it, heroes? The glorious, unending slaughter of your atrocious kind?! It will be wonderful! Now then... prepare to die, knowing your failure has damned thousands of lives - and indeed, all of humanity! I am Eidolon... Ruler of all Proggs, Emperor of Uland, Son of the Mythrogg, and the Executioner of Mankind!" A torrent of ligthning bolts rain from the sky, each on stirking the tower the heroes were standing on. The belltower quakes, the party of heroes struggling to keep their balance. All 6 heroes and their two allies watch in horro as Eidolon commands the strikes from above. The Emperor's wings were lit ablaze from Roni's blast, bits and peices flaking off from them in the inferno. Finally, the tower simply wasn't able to withstand the bause any longer. It succumbs to the barrage of elemenets, the top of itshattering and falling off in a rockslide. The party runs against the avalanche of stone, but are unable to escape... They slip, the very ground collapsing beneath them and falling into the crowd of Proggs beneath. The party falls off the belltower, beginning their 8-story plunge to the ground below! They tumble through the stormy skies, wind and rain bombarding them from every angle. The sound of crumbling debris and the chants of the crowd below assault their eardrums, along with their own screams of terror. Eidolon's wings finally give up on him, he too beginning his drop downwards. Although it took a few seconds, the heroes manage to partially orient themselves. They clutch their weapons tightly, clearing their eyes and looking at the foe before them. His wings were now just bone, the rest of it burned off by Roni's blast of ether... his arms were nearly split down the middle from the abuse they had reieved. His entire body was bathed in crackling electricity, scars and gashes lining his every limb. His eyes glow, piercing through the darkness of the storm. "Lets end this, once and for all! ENGARDE!" The party readies themselves for their most perilous battle any of them had faced yet, suspended in literal free fall... This was their Fall to Fate! "DIE!" 16. I glance around the bar. Conversing with a fellow undead would have to wait... for now, the barkeeper and Riley demanded immediate attention. "Barkeep, could you get a little more specific about your wares? They sound tantalizing right now, but if you could just elaborate a bit more, I may splurge..." Sorrow-speak for "Tell em what I'm about to drink."
  17. I do not see how, when the grounds of being inconcistent being the gist of some of the votes on you, you choose to make another move out of the blue. At this point, it seems like faliling. My vote stands.
  18. A father he hasn't seen for the better part of his life...
  19. You do realize the Mythrogg is Eidolon's father, right?
  20. I am town. What I find interesting about TrumpetKing's behavior is that he believes that Zepher is scummy... then echoes nearly his exact some views on killing recruitables. Zepher has cleared himself a bit to me, and only seemed to be confused. Li'l Trumpetking has seemed to just keep flipping from position to position with little to no explanation. Vote: Li'l TrumpetKing (TrumpetKing) If TrumpetKing can provide a defense, I'd be happy to change my vote. It isn't final yet, but for now I will be sticking to this stance.

The battle with the Emperor rages on. 2 Aerial Proggs join Eidolon in combat, brandishing their lethal fangs. Sylph and Elgar pull out their scrolls and seal the two Aerial Proggs, their joints going ridgid; unable to perfrom the daring manuevers they were once able to. Johon steps in front of the party, the Sword of Decay at his side. He begins walking, then running, scoring a hit on Eidolon's every appendage. Eidolon's remaning gauntlet, nearly broken by this bloodstained battle, finally succumbs. It shatters from Eidolon's fist, the pieces of the gauntlet being thrown away in the monstrous winds. Punii makes a burst of jellies, eager to open fire on the Emperor. With his gauntlets destroyed, his defense was crippled. Galen throws his wrnech at Eidolon, the projectile tool landing squarely in the beast's eye. For the first time Eidolon seems to feeel actual pain, his armored carapacace wavering and no hands to block attacks. He roars, lightning striking in the distance as he howls. Noting their master's anger, the Aerial Proggs go and attack the party. Hal receives a claw in the gut while Romulus jabs at Eidolon's wing. Eidolon practically growls, the rage buidling inside of him... and he was going to unleash it very, very soon! "You virulent little pests! Why do you still fight, when you know it is hopeless?! There is no victory for you! There is nothing left for you in this life besides defeat! Just... just die already, damn you!" "I will avenge my brothers! For Rhodus! For Aquos!" All heroes have a 1/6 chances of becoming Confused from the white noise. (Can be remedied or removed for 5 ether each.) Charge Up: Eidolon builds up electric energy. Howard applauds the young girl's mastery, the child easily tackling the technique and having it down pat within a few minutes. "Marvelous work, Roni! Even I, the Great Howard Dini, never mastered it that fast!" Dini and Roni, teacher and student, revel in their victory for some time - until the storom outside intensififies. The door sealing the room from the elements outside slams open, forced by the tremendous storm outside. Their sense of victory melts as they realize Eidolon was still kicking - and giving the heroes a good thrashing, judging by the storm's might. Roni jumps and clings to Dini's leg at the first bolt of lightning, hiding her face from the bloody footprints smeared across the floor that had been thrown into sharp relief by the storm's sudden burst of light...but at the second bolt, she stood her ground. By the third, something had changed; her eyes held but a little fear, yet also a glimmer of understanding. A little of the red-tinged lightning seemed to be caught in her eyes as she stepped boldly towards the open door. The lighning crashed against the roiling clouds, and the thunder growled with its booming voice...and just for a moment, Dini could have sworn that the thunder did, in fact, have words... Emboldened by whatever the thunder 'said,' the stormy-eyed girl turns back to Dini and calmly escorts him into the tumult...

The battle rages on. Elgar, not keen on relying on his frayed mind, feeds Sylph a tonic. The druid becomes invigorated by the brew, mustering the strength to summon the Roots of Life. They slither their way up the to the top of the soaked tower and wrap themselves around the party. The healing tendrils undo the wounds given to them by Eidolon and sooth Elgar's scattered brain. The party assaults the flying beast, failing to destory his gauntlets. Despite his limbs surviving this scuffle, Eidolon hisses, none too amused by the party's antics. The storm swirls rumbles in anger, as if growing furious along with its creator. Two Aerial Proggs soar through the storm, joining their master in combat. "This is folly - you are simply wasting my time!"
