  1. I've saved the best for last - wouldn't you agree? I may not have as much options as you guys, but make no mistake: I am strategizing here. When I said smart, I literally meant that a human being was in (partial) control. Now them, 48ers... ready to kill your dear old QM?

Bolsters Phantom Rhodus (+3 level to Phantom Rhodus, SP/2 to self.) >Nemesis Scepter: Healing Position! Heals Perfect Regret's Tail (Fragile removed, -0 HP) The two forces - mankind and Progg - stood atop the heart of Luosh, drenched by the steady rain. The heavens rumble as the two forces rush to assault eachother, the dark skies trembling in anticipation - The true final battle had begun! Perfect Regret was as skillful as his name implied. allowing very little damage to come upon him - while he thrashed Galen and Johon. Alex manages to duck under a beam of dark magic and scratch Perfect Regret. The blow hardly does a thing, the damage not even noticeable. The paladin flees back to his party as the abomination tries to snatch him in his lethal claws, reminiscing about his first days in Heroica. Back then, a strike of that magnitude could fell a beast... but now, not even a hundred of those blows would be even to slay the beast before them. Aquos gently drums the roof of the Town Hall, his mellow music synchronizing with the serene downpour of the rain. It proves enough to send Eidolon drifting into sleep... "How underwhelming..." 3. QM Note: Danny, are you purposely leaving the Cataclysm Claw untargetted?
  4. "Same song and dance, as per usual. Death Bringer, twice, back."
  5. QM Note: DLL, you never targeted claw B. Also, keep in mind, even in sleep the passive specials/tactical actions will still take effect.
  6. Way to complete defuse the battle's weight, Capt. Again.
  7. The wheeler-dealing methods of Gurnam, and the magic and spirit pool connections of Arthur... ...Are ya READY?! Sorrow expects full payment back within a week, or he will collect interest. Excessive amounts of interest. ...48ers, I didn't spook you into silence, did I? Posts that just go "Crikey that be a megabluckin' tough boss monster!" are acceptable.
  8. Phew... Worried I had structured my battle wrong and it became easy because of it.
  9. ...And, in the process, make yourself permanently fragile.
  10. ...I honestly don't know, but I'm guessing you aren't allowed a x4 multiplier on everything. There is a very good reason I crippled Aquos's Ether total.
  11. Are you implying I'm not sufficiently insane currently?
  12. Endgame doesn't pull any punches when it comes to boss fights.
  13. Let the true final battle... BEGIN!

    1. Dannylonglegs

      Dannylonglegs

Are you sure this is the last battle? This wouldn't happen to be a http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/PlayingWith/SuspiciouslySpecificDenial, would it?

  14. I couldn't make a harder battle if I tried. Okay, maybe that is a bit of an exaggeration... but this is it, 48ers! 5.5 months of questing has led to this final clash! I may be controlling the boss monster from the sides... but I'm rooting for you nonetheless, heroes. End this, once and for all!
  15. "You think that you're in a position to persuade? Virulent fools!" "I will have no more of your insolence - an Emperor I may no longer be, but I remain a fighter nonetheless!" The Regret laughs at the party's feeble attempts at diplomacy, his bellowing laughter ushering in a rumbling veil of black clouds overhead. The starry sky is covered, only the full moon managing to shine through the cover of darkness. "HAHAHAAAAHAHAHAHAH! You think of yourselves as equals to me? I wield power greater then any foe in Heroica has possessed... a terrifying strength, borne from the regret of my soul and tempered by the hatred in my heart! Hatred has been the driving force behind Proggkind for eons... The cause of this invasion! I have become the master of my misery, and become a being more powerful then any of you pathetic creatures you have ever faced! But... if you are so eager to rush to your demise, who am I to deny you your final wish? You shall perish, knowing that your failure has damned all of humankind to a future of pain and suffering! I am baffled how such lowly creatures came so far... but that matters not. You stand before The Perfect Regret, hatred and despair incarnate. Savor this fight, heroes - for it shall be your last! Let this be the ultimate showdown between man and Progg!" The Perfect Regret and the phantasmal princes advance on the heroes, all of them drawing their weapons at once. The beats proved terrifying, but it was finally time to end this - before them stood the source of all of this misery. A mentor to the three brothers after their father's disappearance this abysmal creature could very well have been the one who molded them into the monsters they became. This being was the puppetmaster behind this entire ordeal - every innocent life lost this bloodstained night could be traced back to him. Deep inside of the abomination was a heart of gold, but it had long since withered away from the years of hate and misery. All that was left was a horrifying monster, an omnicidal Progg who would wreck havoc should he be let out of this battle alive. The Bleeding, The Wound, The Suffering, Rhodus, Aquos, and Eidolon... all had been destroyed. The only thing that remained was the hateful creature before them, a being hellbent on the destruction of mankind. The heroes had gone through so much tonight... but, at long last, they were given the opportunity to end this once and for all. It was just as The Perfect Regret had said: This was to be the ultimate showdown between man and Progg! Prepare For The True Final Battle! "Prepare for the end, heroes!" 16. No, this is the end- I am getting a bit tired of writing these battles myself. I've been drafting this one for almost an hour and it isn't even done. Oddly, running battles is incredibly cathartic...
  17. "Thank you, Sir Gremlin, for stealing a measly sum of gold and mortally wounding yourself in the process. If you fellows won't mind, Deathbringer, twice, back."
  18. Wait a sec, are you already forgetting - the last battle was a boss fight?! In terms of bosses >Rhodus (Got angry 2/3s through) >Aquos (Got angry 2/3s through) >Emperor Eidolon (Got angry about 3/4s through, entered a free-fall battle phase) >The Regret/The Regret's Soul And now, for the grand finale (when I stop dreading the moment where I have to write it up): >The Perfect Regret I hope nobody expected The Regret to be the true final boss and the source of all proggs when he was met in the Murkwood...
  19. ...Wait, that is why you sealed yourself! You clever little... Thought it was roleplay related to prevent you from getting hexed again. Also, good to see you've decided. This is going to be the last battle before your advanced class!
  20. You learned that only recently? And here I was, thinking you read Darths and Droids...
  21. Sorry, all - I gotta take a quick break, can't write a novel for every post. True Final battle will be my next post... I'll let you roleplay while I rest my hands.
  22. Aquos gives a slight chuckle, the rain passing right through his translucent battle. "Would say I'm here "in the flesh"... but that'd be a lie." The dead Progg looks wistfully through his transparent tentacle, his body a greenish silhouette of what it once was. "The Regret has no hand in my appearance here... With all the dead Proggs you've been summoning, did you really think that one spirit couldn't slip through the cracks?" "...Prometheus is dead." "If you say so. Heroes... when you defeated me, I was faced with the dillemma., Master of life and death he may be, but not even The Regret can pry into the minds of the deceased. There was a bit of a debate going on in my head: I was certain that humans were nothing more then disgusting creatures, designed only to be destroyed. And yet... A band of men - those who bested me in battle, no less! - bestowed upon me the greatest gift I could ever ask for. Sight truly is a beautiful thing, heroes, and I thank you for it. But that led to a greater issue - was I wrong? Was I blind not only literally, but metaphorically? Was the purpose I had led my people to wrong? I came to a conclusion... Mankind has contains good beings, as well as those who deserve to be destroyed. To wipe them all out is folly - a Pyrrhic feat not much different from just destroying Olegaia all together. You can't just tear it up and hope to restart. In that aspect, I am quite glad Proggs like Beatrice, Punii, the Toxiproggs - and many others, I hope - were not swept away by me and my siblings' propaganda. The source of the problem - the true issue here -" Aquos points an accusatory tentacle at The Perfect Regret, the colossal beast standing silent in the tranquil rain. "Is you, Prometheus!" The two stare each other down, the tension in the air rising higher and higher. "...Have you anything to say?!" "I don't need to. I already know two individuals who have some select words to share with you..." The eldritch abomination snaps his finger, tendrils of dark ether shooting off as they do so. They slither across the rain-drenched roof and burrow into the floor, runes of darkness spreading outwards as they dig in. From the two portals clamber out massive claws, a freezing frost billowing out of one portal and red static streaming out of the other. The dark forms of two Proggs clamber out slowly, reentering the realm of the mortals... The entire roof shakes as the pair of gigantic Proggs claw out of the portal. Color returns to their bodies, the two forms gaining a translucent complexion as they are fully revealed. The phantoms of Rhodus and Eidolon stood before the party! Their eyes are narrowed into slits, none too pleased with their brother's betrayal. They hiss at the tentacled middle child, wasting no time launching into a tirade. "It is like a grand old family reunion! Such a shame that one of us is less loyal then the others..." "Aquos, you treasonous - you're my brother! Please, see some sense - even with your sight resotred, you are more blind then ever!" "Rhodus, Eidolon... Even Prometheus. I'm sorry. But I cannot stay idle while you commit these atrocities - the destruction you will bring will extinguish as much good as bad!" 23. His goal never was to take the reins: he wanted the Princes power to remain stable, and leaved the task of killing you to them to not undermine them. Any dead princes he would just be able to resurrect down the line; and, should they all fall, this scenario would occur: and he'd be able to pry information off of each and every dead Progg to set up the entire "join me" gambit in his favor. He has had quite a few gambits running for some time, even creating his own doppelganger for back-up purposes - they only mistake he ever made was placing that in the grotto, but its destruction was inconsequential.
  24. Oh, no, Inky wasn't a robot, he was an ether-generated abomination from another realm.
  25. When did I mention a robot? Ohh, you'll see by tonight...
