The Luoshian Guard Captain convulses as his will is stolen from him, now an agent of the Progg's desires. Perfect Regret points at the Druid, and Hal simply gives a knowing nod. With a grunt he raises his halberd into the air and rushes Sylph - the rest of the enemies following him! They all pounce on Sylph, devestating the Druid. He is knocked out cold, crushed under the sudden barrage of attacks. They wanted Hal to charge - but not like this!   5. The calculating is the easiest part of running a round. Its formatting everything to satisfy your pedantic nature that gets me.

  7. Ni No Kuni had a wonderful combat system. Also, the entire point of Pokemon is making your pets fight other pets to pave the road to glory.
  8. Bloody hell, this thread is multiplying! Yes, 48 may have gone full-out Boss Bonanza mode, but I did have a 50 round long Mini-Q50 in there. ...And now I have felt your pain on that front, Sandy.

Trashy in terms of HP only - they'd still be able to hit hard, and QMs can make them still have consequences, (Steal gold and items, make them go into the next battle Badly Poisoned, etc.) Only difference being that they are quicker to kill. Also, Zepher, Flare carries a grudge against me for some reason... and Capn decided to fuel the fire. Too bad their "revenge" has been absolutely crushed.

  11. Solution: Trash Mobs. As it stands right now, every battle is significant due to the rather large EXP gain - 10+ battles in one quest is a ton. In video game RPGs, you could easily get into that many battles just by walking from town to town. With a slower level curve, QMs could throw in Trash Mobs - bands of enemies that are usually quick to kill (but should also be able to dish out some damage) - far more frequently, without fear of bloating the level system. These little 4-5 round battles could be peppered into quests semi-frequently, and keep progression going at a good rate. Also, the Level 40 issue: QMs can start pumping out level-locked items. Not significant immediately, but will cause some nice items to get into circulation when we hit that milestone.
