Eurobricks Mafia II: Mafia School: Day Five
Endgame replied to def's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Either way, we were afraid that we were in the endgame yesterday - now, we may be even deeper in it. If we don't find a scum, this may very well be the end.- 82 replies

Eurobricks Mafia II: Mafia School: Day Five
Endgame replied to def's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Drat drat drat drat drat. This isn't good. At all. What I've been curious about this entire time - what are our Masons up to? They are meant to be the replacement for our investigators, and can essentially either clear or condemn someone's alignment. Is there some sort of network of masoned townies we know nothing of? And if so, why are they allowing so many townie lynches? We're essentially in fail or fly mode, at this point. We can't be so conservative anymore - if we're going to make progress, we at least need one solid bit of info to lean on.- 82 replies

"Hah! Wolfgang? Is that your greatest failure? I've done worse. Far, far worse - and yet, they welcomed me with open arms. Do not doubt the power of Heroica, fellow Undead. For if you don't get out of here, it will be the organization that will undo you. Do you want your second chance at life cut short? Choose carefully, friend. Leave, or lose your life once more. I don't wish to do this to one of my own kind, but I do what I must."
-
"Heroica had no qualms opening its doors to me - why don't you walk the same path? Get out of here, make the world a better place. Or would you prefer the reputation of the undead to be tarnished more then it has? Because that is all you have been doing. And it is all you will do if you continue down the road you are walking."
-
I stagger up, feeling like I had two left feet. "Hah, you fancy yourself an equal to me? No, I'm afraid not... You see, I've been dethropning tyrants and generals and saving lives since day one. All you are capable of is loafing around a pond of frgos, wiaitng form someone to bully. You dedicate your unlife to this pathetic little job, and I'll end you like the patheitc little being you are. I use a Jinxy Juice on Wulfeo then Wulfiet, back. Put me in the front of the battle order!"

No, that was a one time thing to indulge you. Try to initiate a singoff and I'll have The Regret turn your soul inside-out.

Heroica RPG - Quest #48: Death's Homecoming

QM Note: That was supposed to be a serious character defining moment, not an invitation to a sing-off. "Unfortunately, my performance was a one-time fare. Unfortunately, yours is not. I'd suggest you stop emitting that ear-grating noise, lest you prefer me reaching into your soul and tying it into a pretzel." -
Heroica RPG - Quest #48: Death's Homecoming

Alex's grating cacophony drifts through the frigid air - Alex may have an angel, but he sure didn't have the voice of one! Every single opponent turns to face the singing Paladin. If stares could kill, Alex would be massacred by the looks alone. Even the Dead Hands, eyeless appendages, seemed to be giving Alexandre toxic glances. Only The Regret fixate his gaze on the singing hero, instead turning the opposite away. His harsh laughter is carried in every direction by the cruel wind, his voice almost omnipresent. He retorts: "The darkness never dies, the shadows runs so deep; The darkness never dies, it can only sleep; Evil thrives best in a broken heart; A life cannot be repaired when torn apart; For when the world's despairs devour the mind and soul; It gives birth to a hatred untold; The inner demons inside you may feed; Do not try to repel them, instead take heed; A broken heart was never meant to be rebuilt; Harness your sadness, your hatred, your rage, your guilt; For when you master the despair in your mind and soul; It gives birth to power untold." The Regret's words hover above the party, carrying a weight like none other. His voice betrays a softness and warmth they had not seen before in the Progg. Prometheus could've very well have been both a wonderful Progg and father... but that was gone now. The misfortunes that had befallen him mutilated more then his soul. It left him both a literal and metaphorical shell, a husk of a good-hearted being. However, all traces of Prometheus was gone - it was as The Regret had said. Prometheus had died long, long ago - now only the villain that stood before the party remained, an undying being fueld by his own hatred and regret. With a flourish he whirls around, his entire body now thrumming with magic. His eyes glow with a tempered malice; he had became the master of his own madness long ago. Though fate had denied Prometheus happiness in every way imaginable, he took the sorrows in his heart and transformed them into his horrifying power. Truly, he was The Regret.. What group PM? No, seriously, youir revenge will never work - I'm wayyy more of a QM here then an actual hero, but Sorrow still gets some love.
-
Signs of a good QM: >Other players plotting revenge against you.
-
Team Progg, blasting off agaaaaaaaaaaaaaain!~ Meh, unless you convince Sandy to vaporize Nostrums, Meads, and Smelliung Salts entirely, your revenge will be fruitless.

Its the finale of a finale against a 3,000 year old undying eldritch beast who weilds immense power and is the source of an entire species. Go big or go home, dammit.

Heroica RPG - Quest #48: Death's Homecoming

QM Note: Is that your thoughts or is that out loud? Chose wisely. -
You think I'd just end it like that? I've been bslatantly saying this is the easy part since the battle began. And, no, its not going to be one of those phase 2s where I just take The Regret and buff him. You're in for one heckuva ride, 48ers...
-
I raise my eyebrow at the hodgepodge of thugs approaching us. Syntax can no longer hold back his acid tongue, insisting he could grab a hold of the wheel and lash out. The change in demeanor was almost instant - I was far more active and sarcastic. With a cruel chuckle I advance on the sad crew of criminals. "You assembled this little posse to guard a pond of frogs? You folks have nothing better to do then to bully anyone who gets close to this pond? Pathetic. If you're not going to do anything better with your lives..." I unsheathe my Steel Fan, the blades opening up with a floruish. "Then I'll just have to take them. Genetlmen, I'll go for Pongcanis Scum, back, twice. If I roll an Assasination on this thug I may take out the lucky enemies, and save us some heartache. Lets wrap this up quick, shall we?"

Congratulations, CorneliusMurdock! May Cronk bash evil forevermore.

The true final battle rages on, the stakes climbing higher and higher. The fate of Uland could very well rest on this battle - it was a challenge, and The Regret wasn't even fighting yet. Sylph mends the party's wounds, only to send Alex against The Regret again. Alex, his soul damaged by The Regret, finds himself simply unable to land a hit. He swings time and time again, but The Regret simply effortlessly dodges - and eventually follow up with a devestating parry when the paladin's antics no longer amused him. Galen, his rage soothed by his leader's healings, lobs his wrench at one of the dead hands. With a simple hand signal, the enraged Hal rasllies the entire party. They all whale on a Dead Hand, beating the undead limb into submission. Romulus snarls, his breath freezing up in the freezing air. He sees Galen prepare an attack - nearly provoking him to down a nostrum - but the Rogue is too fast for him. Galen knocks the Nostrum right out of his hand, his wrench hitting the lycanthrope's skull in the process. Elgar musters his magic, a swirling ball of ice enveloping his arms - but instead of launching it at Daxus, he lobs it into the snow. The snow forms into a fast-growing mound, Sir Slush manifesting in a matter of seconds. Johon slashes at the Dread Hand, while Punii attempts to make jellies -and fails. The Regret looks at the battlefield around him and simply cackles. "You sic your paladin on me time and time again, but I just beat him back like the sorry little pup he is."
