"...Thank you, Nerwen. Stay safe out there, alright?" And with that, I enter silent contemplation... praying to Helvetia that Lucian would live on.
-
-Brithday Slacker: Forgot to place this one up here when I actually had the blasted thing. I mentioned I was behind in Heroica duties due to my brithday... Courtesy of Fugazi. -Welp you dead: Made a fake ending to previously mentioned Heroica Quest on Aprail Fool's, where the antagonist said this to the heroes ver batim. Also Fugazi's work.
-
"Nerwen... I can say his name, I can cherish my every memory of Father all I like. But it is just that: a memory, a figment. Just as dead as I, and even more nonexistant. I say Lucian's name, and I remember good times, bad times, by his side. But if that is all I have Nerwen, at what point does it go from talking to a figment to simply talking to yourself? I know Time's cruelities more then anyone else - it ravages everything. Not even memories are spared from its wrath. At what juncture will Lucian will become just an imperfect copy, a palee reflection of the great man he was - is?" I bury my head in my hands. "I... I just want to hear from him again, Nerwen. Surely, you understand?"
-
Gah, I forgot he had that SP: 9 shield! Nagure is a brick wall at this point... with a moderatley powerful weapon with good elements to boot. Remind me not to go against him in the arena.
-
Alex has 13 SP. But still, woah, Nagure - You really must've been on Father Grogmas's nice list! Also, blurrrgh. Just looking through the older pages of this thread, I was really oblivious to Heroica when I first joined up. Several people asked several times to actually complete my character profile, and I didn't even notice. I'm compensating now.
-
Agreed, Costy - you've been min-maxing right under our noses!
-
Time to go completely over the top for no discernable reason! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DaZGXHZ6ixI In any normal scenario where everything is not made out of Explodium, it probably would be Mad World. But hey, it is still pretty fitting in terms of lyrics (and the fact the singer is just an incredibly lost swordsman)
-
4. Partial Success: The ticking grenade lands soundly at Scubacarrot's feet. I don't listen to music much - almost never, so I can't offer a good opinion on this one. Also, Legonater - 1 page into your first quest and suddenly pirates. Awesome!
-
Works now, though it isn't accepting the password (I know I got it right - thought you were clever with that one, huh? ) Maybe my Cookies/Browser/Both are just acting wonky. Got to see the picture though... and consider me intrigued.

You may want to fix the link. It isn't password protected.

Correct! I believe that I've also had Sorrow hum/whistle it on occasion. Though I prefer this version:
-
"I find it kind of funny, I find it kind of sad.... but I remember his name more then my own. Perhaps Sorrow is truly the name I was meant to bear... but no matter." I draw a sharp breath, and prepare to say it... the tears continue to stream down. "Lucian. Lucian. His name was - is, I hope - Lucian." I sit silently for a few moments, praying to Helvetia almighty that he'll respond. "Lucian is a word, Nerwen. Just... just not his. Not his words."
-
No, those are indeed sets. Some do get mutliple pictures (Ultimate Foe got... 5, I believe.) And I still build them! Not like I poke a single button on my keyboard and the entire thing manifests.
-
Hm, 48 has had:
-
I sigh as I nearly trample over Nerwen, trapped in my own little realm of worry and self-pity. I stop my pacing and sit down, my eyes still downcast. "Nerwen... You, you already know my... father issues, lets call them. This was my first attempt to confront him since... By Helvetia, Nerwen, it must've been before you were even born. A little more then four-hundred years ago, my father was permanently sealed - by my own friend, no less. He was all I had back then, Nerwen. I was crushed - I set off from home, determined to find some sort of cure, remedy, anything. Little did I know, without Father's ether, I began to decay... Here I was, a young man - practically a child! - walking the world as he literally fell to pieces. I used to look human, but now that's long gone. Even now, I grow sickly... for all I know, my heart may just give up on me tomorrow. So thus, I wandered. I walked the world, alone, for hundreds of years. I tried to help people, but I usually was just greeted by pitchforks and torches. He... he is the only person I have left on this Olegaia, Nerwen. And... And if he's dead..." My entire body is shaking at this point - I felt ill. I clutch my thrumming heart as tears silently fall out of my hood...
-
We're not in the triple digits of quests - can't go messing with the balance between life and death quite yet. Well, folks, if anybody could respond/talk to Sorrow, that'd be awesome.
-
My tired eyes dart around the hall, surveying all of its coming and goings. Too much melancholy. Shame, the one place I fit into I don't want to... I pull the Z-mail out of my cloak and lay it on the table before me. I caress my aching temples as I look contemplatively down upon the parchment. All of this blasted inner conflict, and this magical scrap of paper was the source of it. And yet.. Something more lurked in the envelope. Something that enamored, and yet terrifed me. "Sorrow... Sorrow, just do it. If he is alive, I'll disspear... If not, both of our suffering will continue, and the burden will crush us. Do it." Syntax's voice echoes in the back of my mind. The usuallly snide alter ego's voice now carried an air of sadness - and a hint of madness, insanity. Syntax was the embodiment of the guilt my soul bears, the summation of my fears and the amalgam of my rotten memories. He was all of these things, made out of what I considered the bane of my existence. But he was also suicidal, for the lack of a better word. My alter ego didn't want to exist - all that hed had was tormenting memories, after all. "Father... Please, tell me you are alive..." I murmur. And with that, I uncork a bottle of ink, roll out the Z-mail, take out a pen... and begin. It was as if a mental embargo was broken, the words flowing from my head to the paper. A lost child writing to daddy - that was all I was. It didn't matter, though. Not in the slightest. All I wanted was to see dad again... I seal the envelope, and hold it before my eyes. I study the envelope's every detail, as if in some sort of futile way of delyaing what I was about to do. This letter would either give me purpose - or invalidate my very existence. Lets see if I reason to live, shall we? "I've got Z-mail." I whisper. And then -- poof. Gone. The letter vanished into thin air. Whether or not it would ever reach its receptient though was another matter entirely. With a sigh that carried a four-hundred year old sorrow, I begin to stand up. My unnatural body literally creaks as it draws itself back up to full height. My eyes downcast, looking towards my feet, I pace the hall worriedly - sweating, almost. My steps echo around the hall, sounding in an unnatural pattern as I walk back and forth, back and forth. I whispered, murmured, muttered, begged under my breath for a response. Any response. "Father..."
-
Questing takes getting out of prison first, jailbird. But, yes, Nerwen just seems to be the among the wisest (and definitely the most motherly) Hero in the hall. Always seems to have the answers to any philosophical question or conundrum, and more.

Replace "love" with "indicrisminate and undying hatred towards anything partially humanoid".

Bolstering self (+6 levels to self, SP/2 +3 to self) >Nemesis Scepter: Defensive Position! Defending Cataclysm Claw ( +6 SP to Cataclysm Claw, -0 Levels to self) The Guardian Angel hovers over the party, at this point pitful in appearance. It looks forward resolute nonetheless, but its wounds and weakness were glaringly obvious - no matter how hard it tried to hide it, this quest had taken its toll on the divine being. The Perfect Regret fights with more gusto then ever before, but unfortunately for him the tattered Angel blocks his every shot - with his own body. The large Thunder Golem, a gian thumanoid composed out of stormy black hover clouds, goes for the Perfect Regret's Tail. The being of electrictiy latches on, pulsing volt after volt of electrictiy in the tail. It flails left and right, even smashing itself on the floor to shake off the golem; but in the end, it loses. With one last pulse of electrictiy, the tail buckles, glowing a ghastly purple light... until it flares up and explodes, blasted clean off of its body! It dissolves as it plummets towards the ground, the streak of light vanishing as it travelled downward Perfect Regret's shell repairs itself once again, though this time the beast seems a bit more concerned about his sudden amputation. A murderous gleam in his eyes, he grabs the accursed angel in an iorn vice in one claw... and grabs its wing with the other. He slowly twists the wing backwards, the divine being giving a bloodcurling shriek as it was getting mutilated. With one last effortless motion Perfect Regret rips the angel's wing clean off, before crushing the holy creature in the palm of his claw. When he opens his fist all that remains is a pile of white dust, which he scatters to the four winds with a sinister laugh. With the angel dispatched and his tail dismantled, Perfect Regret got even more meticilous with his movements... The battle rages on! "How many more followers will the gods send to die?!" QM Note: Flipz did me yet another solid and ran a round when I was asleep! I should be able to handle it from here, though, but hats off to him. Guest QM Note: I hate Heroes. So very much. I hate Scrolls, I hate Druids, and I hate these freaking dice. Except for Galen and Johon. Those two know the right way to handle dice rolls. Round Fifteen Of The True Final Battle! >Punii makes jellies: 6 is rolled: One of every jelly made! >Aquos sings Lucky Chant (back) >Sylph frails Cataclysm Claw (back): Success! >Sylph VS Cataclysm Claw (back): Critical Hit Hit (9 x 2 = 18 + 21 = 39 x 2 = 78 - 4 = 74 damage, SP -1) >Elgar VS Cataclysm Claw (back): Critical Hit Shield: Summon! Defending Cataclysm Claw (+6 SP to Cataclysm Claw, -2 Level to self) >Nemesis Scepter: Healing Position! Healing Cataclysm Claw (Fragile removed from Cataclysm Claw, -0 HP to self) Punii mixes an extra-large batch of jellies in anticipation of the fall of the Cataclysm Claw. To the horror of the QM and the delight of the party, Sylph successfully Frails an appendage of The Regret once again. He is the only one to land a hit on the hampered Claw before it is healed, however. Aquos' song seems to lose some of its vibrancy as Hal lands a tremendous hit on Rhodus that leaves little more than a dent in his phantom shell. While Eidolon and Rhodus are busy laughing at the ineffective strike of the Captain, Romulus sneaks up behind the short-lived Emperor and delivers a stinging blow that is nonetheless dampened by his caution. The Regret retaliates with a mighty blow of his tail that sends Johon staggering back. The still formidable monstrosity divides its defense as two spirits join the party--an elemental spirit of Lightning, the Thunder Golem, and Alex's Guardian Angel, its flickering form in tatters at this point. The battle rages on! "Ahahahahahahahaha! This Angel has lost its mind!" Perfect Regret, Level 47 45 Ancient *Defensive Position!
