<If that is what it takes, then yes.> <The direwolves, the bears... Everything bigger than us is frenzied! They've all gone mad. We're being driven out by them, they're being driven out by SOMETHING, and they have the audacity to head out and loot the cornfields! Everything is eating everything and running away from something, and we're no different!> <Well, I have wings... I'm just in it for the food, caw...> -

<We must feed!> <And we gotta flee, caw!> <And doing this fulfills both... Assuming the direwolves left us any, we'll have some crops for desert, too.> "Yes- y-yes, please! They must've already chased us down a fourth of a mile... I don't know what made them act this way, but they're set in their new ways, it seems..." -

The young spellslinger startles back in surprise as his stream of water actually manages to dismantle a spider. "Did I get one?!" Terry fires a water spell at Spider 7 from the back row. -

"...If you keep talking like that, yeah. Well, if you folks or good to go, thanks, and good luck! Just following this trail should take you to the Barrier Mountains. After that, though, you're going to need to do some searching of your own." The party sets off, walking along the trail. Here, Uland was far more quiet, with only the sounds of birds chirping and footsteps disturbing the silence. They look to the farmland, expecting the crops being ready for harvest... But it was all barren, the crops seemingly plucked out prematurely... How'd that happen? Eventually, they come to the edge of the forest. A group of animals - snakes, birds, and wild dogs - approach the pair of frantic travelers. They backpedal, gasping, apparently having already fled from the beasts for some time. "Help, help, please!" "This... A Ulandian Azurefang and Limefeather Sparrow attacking humans? This is unprecedented!" says, the woman, sounding more surprised and curious than actually scared. -

"They were taking the same path I was gonna point you towards." *says Manny, gesturing towards the trodden dirt road with one hand.* "They were all dressed in the same white uniform and were talking about stuff I couldn't understand. They were talking about a gift. Whether they were giving one or getting one, I dunno. Uh, if it makes you feel any better, I can't imagine this being the dangerous sort of quest..." says Manny, clearly noticing Annie's anxiety. -

Terry gasps and backpedals, frantically grabbing his staff. "Can't you barbarian folks hit everyone a once or something?! Squish 'em all, or something! Meanwhile, I see if I can, uh, douse them..." Terry fires a water spell at Spider 3 from the back row. -

Terry wipes the sleep and (some) of the drunken stupor out of his eyes. "Hey, guys? Think we should make a map or something?" The yung mage looks at his reflection in the globes on the wall, seeing if they contained anything. -

"Yep, I'm Manny Brixby. The fort isn't the meteorite, that's just where it crashed. It was hard to judge how big it was - it was super bright when it came down. Anyway, nice to meet you, Throlar Wingdings." Either the boy didn't hear Throlar correctly, or he was poking fun at his surname. -

Manny is taken aback a little bit by the intimidating frame of the druid, before continuing. The druid's voice seemed to succeed in calming the boy. "Well, uh, miss - or sir, if I get it wrong I'm sorry - I was stargazing right here about a day or two ago when I say one of the stars, well, move. But it wasn't a star! I saw a white streak plummet right down from the night sky, and I even managed to get a glimpse of where it hit. Take a look through the telescope..." Sylph looks into the barrel of the telescope. Manny jostle and adjusts the other end of it, before it is aimed squarely at where Manny say the meteor crash. A fort nestled in between two mountains. "See, those are the Barrier Mountains, but I don't know what that building is. Looks mighty old. I borrowed Pa's atlas of Uland and such, but I found no mention of any forts up there..." "I bet anyone is a "small one" compared to you! Wow, I bet you could smash that meteor in two if you tried. Wat I want you to do? Well, it isn't every day that a kid sees something fall from the sky! I want you guys to check it out for me, see if you can locate whatever dropped. Maybe bring me back a chunk, if you're feeling charitable, heheh..." -
I'm imaging Sylph's iron armor suddenly being as pliable as rubber as he just rolls away at the first sight of danger, arms and legs flailing all the while.

Namely, I'm trying to remove the double spacing (which I don't even know how that happened).

And we are good to go. I need to dig through Warlen's stas, because they were supremely buggered even after I did some bbcode-fixin'.

Shit, I tried to type the word "another" and apparently the keystroke registered as pressing the "post topic" button. Please hold for a couple of moment while I get the thing actually ready...

The alpha direwolf tears through the brush, it's legs carrying it as fast as possible. The sense of urgency and danger was foreign to the great creature, and so his mind was only focused on one thing: fleeing. An ear-splitting noise booms from behind him. His brain can only process it for a moment before the sound crashes into his body. Bones break, muscles snap, and the direwolf meets his end. It's early morning when five adventurers set out. Another day, another quest, and another uneventful trek through the streets of Eubric. Now perfectly familiar with the winding corridors of the city, they keep their eyes on the road, trying to avoid confrontation with Eubric's more eccentric denizens. Their luck pulls through, and the group of five heroes have already almost made it to their rendezvous with the young boy. Those five were... Heroica RPG- Quest #133: A Walk Through The Parlor

Terry's eyes glaze over as only some of the ruler's (rather extensive, in Terry's altered state) words enter his ears, only some of them finding purchase in his jellified mind. He startles back to attention when feels the heat of the flame portal apparate before him. "Mishter Magus guy, how many of these tricks do you have?!" With an intoxicated stumble, Terry hops in through the fiery portal, nearly tripping and landing his face directly in the (literal) line of fire. -
The same young boy hops into Heroica Hall, overjoyed to see that the number of sign-ups had spiked. He posts another notice on the board before leaving. Before you even discover his stats, you first have to convert all of the hexadecimal (which is scrambled in an anagram). And yes, Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V are two keyboard shortcuts the RTE doesn't like that I abuse endlessly.
-
Sometimes when I'm bolding stuff using the RTE it randomly switches to a completely different font not available in the dropdown menu. The RTE is the true villain of Heroica.
