  1. Yup. I spent nearly 40 years in industry and have no concept on how things work in the "real world". Carry on - oh and learn to recognize sarcastic humor when you see it.
  2. Yeah, there has to be thousands of firms out there looking for people who can design stuff out of LEGO's. Indeed.com: What is your previous job experience? Engineer: I designed things for LEGO. Indeed.com: Right, here's your McDonald's and Burger King applications. Leave the thing about LEGO off.
  3. OK, besides the the article being pretty cool, whoever did the webpage incorporated a feature I've never seen before: scrolling sideways! Using a mouse to scroll down the page, you come to a series of pictures and instead of the page continuing to scroll downwards, it scrolls to the right to view the pics, then when the last pic is viewed, it continues to scroll downward again until the next series of pics, at which time it scrolls sideways again. Very cool effect!!!
  4. I noticed tiny people, cars and animals flying off! OK, maybe that was my imagination...
  5. Pretty cool! Do you any videos of it in action?
  6. The problem though is if you don't happen to have those $.50 worth of parts, not only will they cost you the initial $.50 but probably $7 to $10 for shipping. Of course you can do what I do when looking for $.50 worth of parts - order a bunch more to make the shipping cost worth while.
  7. Stop logging in and you'll be forgotten about in no time. Also, a ruling against Google and it's search engine is not applicable to this site. CCPA, CPRA and VCDPA are more applicable to you and what you asking for but they apply to personal information given to a business such as name, address, phone number, SS number and the like, none of which should have been posted here in the first place. To my knowledge, and I have been moderating websites for nearly 20 years, there is no law requiring forums to delete accounts upon request.
  8. I see a Barbie Dream Car in the future - so LEGO can get the most out of those pink donuts!
  9. Which is ultimately the bottom line for consumers. Folks can piss and moan all they want about something but the ultimate put down is when you refuse to spend your money.
  10. Those sentences are at odds with each other if/when the deals do affect the price. Maybe it shouldn't matter, but if a deal negatively affects the price of the product, then it obviously DOES matter.
  11. If you compare LEGO gears with those used in their 1:1 counterparts, you would find that LEGO gears are considerably larger in scale. Therefore trying to use them in scales smaller than what they are designed for will be difficult if not impossible if your intentions are to keep them within scale.
  12. Mine operates backwards meaning you push forward to go in reverse and reverse to go forward. I'm used to it now so if they change the app I'll have to learn to drive over again.
  13. Are there any release dates / MSRP for the JCB 220 XLC?
  14. I didn't like the color of the cord I got from Amazon so I ordered some a seller on ebay. It still wasn't an exact match but looked better than the light grey from Amazon. Amazon sellers have black, light grey and silver but the sellers are out of dark grey. One seller had it in .8mm that might be OK to use. For counterweight, I made my own (you can see them in some of the photos) out of stuff I had. Basically just some boxes that I filled with some lead.
  15. The eight sections I added were around $150 US. I also bought parts 4211556, 6279023, 4142865 and 61300009 in suitable quantities. The rest of the parts I had on hand. With shipping, your estimate is probably a bit high but not much. You also need a spool of 1mm nylon thread as with the exception of the rear support, the stock thread will be too short for proper/satisfactory operation. With re-calibration, the crane works fine but the extra boom sections will reduce the lifting capacity somewhat. I fooled the app by running the hook to the top of it's limit, which was about 10 inches from the top, then pulled out axle on the twin drums and wound them until the hook was near the top of the boom and put the axle back in place. It seems to have worked out well. You will also need to add more counter balance as the extra boom will also effect the counter weight and make the crane more "tipsy" without it. I also added several pulleys/wheels in spots where the nylon cord ran over non-moving surfaces, It wasn't necessary, but I wanted to eliminate any possible friction I could.
  16. It's not something I would buy, but it's still a neat looking set.
  17. Wait.... LEGO figures with middle fingers? Who knew? Where can I get one?
  18. I said a month ago: "At a price of $10.99 I'm not too excited.", so I'm not surprised. In today's economy, we shouldn't have expected $10.99 would produce much and it didn't.
  19. My bad - I saw COBI but my brain processed it as Corgi, a maker of scale model cars and other toys.
