  1. Another picture of the Sail Barge: Sail Barge by Ultron32, on Flickr
  2. Indeed, that Gran looks great, even at this preliminary stage. I'm not going to buy a whole sail barge just for him though. I'll wait for Lego to reuse the head mold in a new podracer set. Still no pics of the small sets? You have to squint a little to see him. He's on the box art behind the watermark. Sadly, it's just a stand-in with Santa Yoda's torso and the Death Watch helmet. Hopefully the final version will be a completely red and white mando armor.Young Boba looks great, and I like that it comes with a Geonosian, but other than that, this calendar seems a bit disappointing. Many of the models look like slight alterations of models from previous calendars. In fact, this whole wave just seems like a giant rehash. The only really new sets are the Mando Speeder and Jek-14's Starfighter, and the latter is something that Lego completely made up themselves. Are the designers so out of ideas that they need to release sets which they already released a couple years ago and invent new vehicles/characters? There are still so many possibilities for new sets, both from the CW and the movies, so seeing a wave like this is very depressing. On the other hand, I don't mind saving some money for once, so as long as they are back to releasing new sets in the next wave, I'm fine with it.
  3. Yeah, what's up with that? They should print all of his legs, not just half of them. Oh well, I don't really care about Superman anyway...
  4. Am I the only one who is annoyed by the fact that they went out of their way to print two stupid lines on the movie Superman's legs, but couldn't be bothered to print his iconic boots on the comic Superman and Spider-Man? I know the boots would be more dificult to print due to the side printing, but still. That said, the set and its minifigures do look pretty good. The Superman minifig actually looks better than the Superman in the movie, especially with that angry face, and Zod looks better than he did in Lego Batman 2. But is it just me or does he look a lot like the Punisher? The car and the tower do seem a bit random (which is probably why FBTB and Brickset couldn't remember much about these sets), but then again, you can't get any more iconic than Superman lifting up a car.
  5. Actually, I said that it would not look as good because the zombie version has a striped vest, not a jacket.
  6. Yeah, they obviously did this to appeal to the casual movie goer audience. The other shows got cancelled because they didn't get enough ratings for some reason. What I'm afraid of is that AA will try too hard to match the tone of the movie. The movie had a lot of humor and very little story, and while it worked for that movie, I don't think it would work too well for a whole series. We don't need the Avengers to go the way of Ultimate Spider-Man. I guess time will tell. Season 2 was alright. The Galactus episode did feel a bit rushed, but at least it gave the show a nice series finale. The only thing that season 2 really needed was more Hulk in my opinion, but the Spidey episodes kinda made up for that. Have you watched the Ultimate Avengers movies? Ant Man and Wasp were in those too, which is where I first learned about them, and those two movies were about as good as EMH in my opinion, especially the sequel. I think Netflix has them right now, so if you get a chance, I recommend you check them out. By the way, I recently caught up with Iron Man: Armored Adventures, and while I still dislike the cell-shaded animation and the fact that Tony, Pepper, Rhodey, and Mandarin are teenagers, it's actually not a bad show. It has a nice story going for it, and it introduces you to some of the lesser known Iron Man characters.
  7. That's hilarious, Amset-Ra! Well, you can see the top of the studs on the baseplate in both shots. If this was really a reflection, you wouldn't be able to see the top in the reflection. But that's okay, as I said before, it looks great the way it is. And I agree, it wouldn't have looked as good with the zombie groom's torso.
  8. Agreed, I found it quite entertaining as well. Possibly my favorite Spike episode. Sigh. Well, as it says in that first article, this is hardly a surprise, especially after how CN and DisneyXD have been treating those shows. With DC Nation's random hiatuses and Disney's decision to air new episodes of Tron and Motorcity at friggin midnight, it's no wonder the ratings dropped. Either there is a conspiracy going on where somebody is trying to ensure that there are no more quality cartoons left on television, or the executives of those channels are really as dumb as Futurama portrayed the ones at Fox. I guess our only hope is that Avengers Assemble and Beware the Batman wont suck. Speaking of Tron: Uprising, the season finale was great! Unfortunately, it doesn't work as a series finale too well. If the producers of that show would have known that they were being cancelled, they might have been able to change it so that it would be more of a conclusion. They could have left out the cliffhanger at the end and made it so that either Tron surrenders himself or Beck fails to save him, which would lead to Tron getting repurposed as he was in Tron Legacy. But as it is, we will never know how he got repurposed and how they will fight off Clew's invasion force. Oh well... Yup, it's just sad. I can't really blame your sister though. Spider-Man was voiced by the same guy in A:EMH and both shows are being shown back-to-back in a programming block called Marvel Universe (implying that they indeed take place in the same universe). While the difference is obvious to us, I guess that's enough to confuse kids. And yeah, I also don't believe the rumors that AA is a continuation of A:EMH. For example, it is said that Falcon is a young new recruit in the Avengers. He was grown up in A:EMH too, so that can already not work. Hm, interesting. I don't really see anything bad coming from this though. I think just2good is right in saying that this might give the show a refreshing change. It will be interesting to see how the characters will react to this and if it will change the relationship between them.
  9. Thanks everyone! I'm glad you like it, especially since this is the most elaborate micro-build I have done so far! Isn't that just a room inside the building?
  10. Good news, everyone! I have finally completed my entry for the Micro Sci-Fi Contest! I couldn't pass up on participating in this great Sci-Fi month, and what's more sci-fi than Futurama! And so, I present to you my microscale recreation of the Planet Express building and ship! Planet Express by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr Here you can see the Planet Express ship coming in for a landing, having returned from yet another whacky adventure! Meanwhile, Bender is having a conversation with Calculon in front of the building as a Slurm delivery truck drives by. Planet Express by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr I tried incorporating as many details as I could at this small scale, such as the vents in the back, all the pipes on the sides of the building, and the Angry Dome on top of the hangar (the place where the Professor goes when he is angry). Planet Express by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr Click here to see one of the reference images I used. You can see more views in my photostream. Comments and criticisms welcome. I hope you like it, and good luck in the contest everyone! Oh, and bite my shiny plastic @$$!
  11. Indeed, a very clever picture as it is literally parted into a life and a death half! Nicely executed too. If there is anything I would have improved it would be to take the zombie shot at a lower angle so that it matches that of the other photo. Also, I think the groom could do with some more zombifying. For example, you could have used the legs and hat from Mr. Good & Evil. But it's very nice as it is!
  12. Does Jek-14 have a trans-light-blue arm? If so, the chances of force ghost minifigs might be higher than we thought! In related news, from the Cartoon Network 2013 lineup announcement: So it's only going to have 3 parts. A bit disappointing, but okay.
  13. Thanks! And yes, that would be great if someone did that! That Cuusoo project is cool too, but I agree, it makes more sense this way.
  14. Nice one, smokebelch! I've got some more too. The first one is another Star Wars twist on a Disney movie. In this one, the Emperor is getting his new groove on, but it's a lot funkier than being turned into a lama. 15. There are a few ways to get her general appearance, but I don't think there is any way to do her headdress, sorry.
  16. But only in the EU. Same with Boba. We don't know if she will in the actual movies.
  17. Thanks! And no, of course I don't want Mickey Mouse to become the next major SW villain! Although I must admit that an ultimate crossover like this would be pretty cool. And yes, some of these things, like Leia becoming a Jedi or Boba returning, could very well happen. So in other words, this entry is meant to be a joke, but it is meant to be plausible as well.
  18. Hm, that's odd. I got that image off of Brickipedia and I just watched that cutscene again on Youtube, and she has a blue lightsaber there. Maybe that's a preliminary image? Oh well, it doesn't matter.
  19. Yup, the playable character in LSW3 was Adi Galia. This is probably close to what the real minifig will look like, except with more detailed printing.
  20. If we knew anything for sure, it would be in the first post. But no, I am pretty sure we wont, at least not the Kashyyyk set. That's just a prototype that was seen in an old video of the Lego designer studio and has about as much chance of being made as the Yavin 4 rebel base that was seen in the Visual Dictionary. As for the Ewok Village, I think that rumor is still only speculation based on that Forrest Maiden hairpiece. Now can we please stop talking about wishes and the violence in SW movies and discuss the actual sets that are coming out?
  21. Thanks. As I said on Flickr, I did base my Mickey design somewhat on yours, so thanks for the inspiration.
  22. The success of The Avengers has shown Disney how profitable epic crossovers can be, so they decided to have all of their movie franchises lead up to one ultimate crossover! Over the course of the next Star Wars movies, Mickey Mouse comes to a galaxy far, far away and is soon turned to the Dark Side. He starts to construct a third Death Star (called the "Death Mouse") as well as a time-space portal in order to join forces with all the other Disney-owned villains and take over the whole universe! This forces all the Disney heroes to use the same portal to team up in order to stop this new mousey threat! And so, in the final movie of the series, everyone comes together in Darth Mickey's base and battle it out for the fate of the universe! It's the ultimate showdown of ultimate destiny! You've got characters from Star Wars, Marvel, Pirates of the Caribbean, Pixar, Indiana Jones, and Prince of Persia all fighting each other! Who will win? 23. Here is CloneyO's and my review of Eminence: http://eurobricksstarwarsforum.com/2013/01/26/the-clone-wars-review-eminence/
  24. Funny you should mentioned this; I had part of a minifig missing from my calendar as well, but it was a much more bizarre situation. I bought mine at a Lego store during the Brick Friday 50% off sale. The bag that contained the Snowtrooper was cut open, and the head and helmet of the minifig were missing, but everything else was still there. I checked the tape on the box when I bought it and it looked fine. Either somebody did a really good job resealing the box or the bag was opened before it was even put into the box. Who would steal only the head and helmet of a Snowtrooper and leave everything else (including the exclusive figs!) anyway? I really don't understand it. Fortunately Lego customer service was kind enough to send me a replacement free of charge. On a side note, I find it hilarious that TRU stores are still trying to sell these at $60!
  25. Uhm, yeah, a Daily Planet set. It would basically be like the Daily Bugle Showdown, but with DC characters and some kind of transformation feature for Superman. And no, I don't count Faora and Tor-an as major villains.
