  1. Since there seems to be MOC drought in the SW forum right now, here's a little vignette to get the Clone Wars community build going. It's a micro-scale recreation of the Battle of Dantooine from the original (and IMO still superior) Clone Wars series, showing Mace Windu taking out a seismic tank after defeating almost an entire army of super battle droids. This was one of the most creative displays of vehicle design and force usage that I have ever seen, so I simply had to build a recreation of it for this community build! The first image obviously employs some forced perspective. Here's a side view of the micro-scale tank: For comparison, here's a reference image from the cartoon: And here's one from the front: I hope you like this simple scene and hope to see more entries in this community build.
  2. Thanks everyone, I'm glad you still like this MOC so much! Thank you! Although quite frankly, I don't get why everyone dislikes the official set so much. Sure, it's overpriced and underscaled, but what SW set isn't nowadays? It's clear that they would never design a set the way I designed this MOC and I think they did a fairly good job at making a nice playset out of such a boring room. Plus it comes with lots of nice minifigs. No, the mural is in the Anteroom that connects the main office with his private office as you can see below. The main office is really just a big round room with only some chairs, a desk, and two statues, so there's really not much that I or TLG could have added to it. But yeah, it would be nice to see a MOC of that mural.
  3. Good thing Batman's parents are dead.
  4. Hehe, good idea. I can do it for you if you want.
  5. Oh, I see. I just assumed he got into an accident, but seeing how his bike is still standing and he's smiling, it seems you're right. I guess Lego City is like Pleasantville in that nothing really bad ever happens to its citizens, so the Ambulance has nothing better to do. Still, it doesn't beat a guy slipping on a banana. That's just classic.
  6. I don't really see what's funny about that one. This one is much funnier in my opinion:
  7. Seems more like Joker1's entire photostream is missing. I can't believe no one has mentioned this one yet: Arkham Asylum Breakout! There's just so much to look at! Harley driving the truck, Joker escaping out of it, Batman swooping down to catch him, and Robin trying to hold off the other three villains, not to mention all the details on the building itself. It's a beautiful set on its own, but the background really gives it that Arkham feel with the eerie green mist and the Batsignal in the back! It really looks like a scene from the animated series or the recent videogames! As for funny box arts, I can never unsee Patrick with his fly open. Spongebob's and Mr. Krabs faces don't help either.
  8. Not bad, although I don't quite get the first one. It just seems like a scene from a ForrestFire video and is a little disturbing since Bruce Wayne probably owns a theme park for real. My favorite is the third one though. At first I thought it was going to be another obvious Avengers-made-out-of-Lego joke, but it wasn't. Well played! Plus Hawkeye using his bow and arrow as a tool is hilarious. Here's some more superhero fun from me: TDKR in a Nutshell by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr This one is kind of a lame pun: Fast and Furyous by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr And this one was suggested to me by Ultron32: Super Friends by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr
  9. Indeed. Not only are the sets in other themes more interesting and popular right now, but their respective franchises are too. Heck, even TMNT is more popular than TCW.
  10. In addition to what has already been said, I think the Star Wars franchise in general is dying right now, which may be the reason for the lack of MOCs lately. Disney has cancelled the Clone Wars and shut down LucasArts, so not only is there nothing currently going on that would keep people interested in Star Wars, but they have also pissed off a lot of fans with those decisions, so everyone is distancing themselves from the franchise, which results in a lack of interest in building MOCs. So I think it's rather a question of whether Star Wars fans are a dying breed. That's my theory anyway. Let's hope the community builds are incentive enough to get people building again.
  11. Awesome. As long as the game has the same voice actors, gameplay, and a good story, I'm happy. Hopefully this means we will finally get to drive the Batmobile!
  12. Like Amset-Ra said, it would still be great to see your take on it! No, that was "Ken's Dream House", which in turn was based on Barbie's Dream House from 1983. And yeah, Malibu Dream House is close enough I guess.
  13. It's actually a pretty old joke. The show itself even kinda made fun of it in the movie Turtles Forever by modifying it to look even more like the Death Star. And someone has already used that piece to build a Technodrome.
  14. Thanks guys! And yes, that's a 1x1 trans-green round tile, this one from the Venomari Shrine to be exact, although it is also available in an unprinted form in these sets. Well, I don't think there has ever really been a Barbie toy called "Malibu Mansion", but it certainly sounds like a Barbie toy, which is what I am making fun of. For crossovers, it's a simple matter of finding similarities, whether it is names, actors, looks, character traits, or set designs. I just make fun of anything that looks or sounds the same.
  15. Wouldn't that be their night job? Thanks! Does two or three times count as recurring? Well, I guess it's time to start a new series: Gollum's Quest for Rings! Stealer of the Rings by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr More crossovers! Wrong Malibu Mansion by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr Only fans of the original show will get this one: Death Drome by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr
  16. Thank you! And yes, I do plan to make more, including marvel and Star Wars ones. I try to keep them universally appealing, so Space Dolls might not be the best pick since not everyone knows about the microfigures, but Walking the Walker might work. By the way, unfortunately there doesn't seem to be international shipping for these, but if you really want one just shoot me a message and we can work something out. Keep the suggestions coming, and please fund the shirts if you want these to actually go on sale!
  17. True, but this was not a normal case. They left it open for the amusement of those who got the joke. What's wrong about that? And I'm sure no one really meant to offend anybody with those stereotypes. It was all in good fun.
  18. You obviously didn't get the joke. The fact that the admins seemed to have made such a ridiculous decision which they or anyone in their right mind would normally never do WAS the joke. It was a prank and anything that made it more believable is what made it funnier and even the more obvious that it was a joke, including the time span in which it ran and the fact the admins didn't give much input during that time. I mean, did you truly believe that the admins who did such a great job for such a long time would all suddenly decide to go against everything they believed in, on April 1st of all days? And it's not like the level of moderation got lowered during that time. Everything operated just like it always did, except in the topics related to the joke (which, again, was part of the joke).I agree with Shadows that if you can't take a joke and think that the EB staff either does too little or too much moderating, then this site is probably not for you.
  19. No worries. It arrived yesterday. Thanks again for the great contest!
  20. Well, I guess it was about time that the truth came out, seeing how some of the last comments were getting a bit ugly. Anyway, may I just say that this was a wonderful prank! It was quite obvious from the start that this was a joke and I'm surprised that so many fell for it, even after some pointed out here why this can't be true, which made it the more hilarious! I had a blast following the discussions, although I was afraid to participate myself as I didn't want to ruin the joke somehow. It's indeed pretty sad how much people get worked up over the silliest things on the internet nowadays. I hope this will teach those (April) fools to lighten up and have a bit more faith in our admins' decision making. It is this type of fun that makes Eurobricks such an awesome site! Now lets see you top this one next year!
  21. Not bad, Mario, even if they're not completely original. Alright, here's another funny involving the One Ring and a Marvel villain: Mount Doom by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr But I can't have a batch without the Mandarin, so here's a joke that just had to be done: Sloppy Choppers by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr And has anyone else ever wondered why the Turtles were named after artists? Turtle Artist by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr By the way, I have started to make T-shirts with my pictures on them! Check them out here and let me know which of my funnies would make good t-shirts!
  22. Lego Batman T-Shirts by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr Hello everyone! I'm not sure if this is okay to post here, but here it goes. If you've been around this site (or the internet in general) in the past few years, you have probably seen some of my Lego funnies and photos. If you are a fan of them, then you're in luck because I have decided to make T-shirts out of my pictures! To start off, here are three Lego Batman themed shirts! If you like any of them and would like to own them, please visit TeePublic and fund my design. It's just $20 per shirt and I need 30 funders in the first month to make it a reality, so spread the word! And don't forget to follow me on there to be notified of any future projects! Let me know in the comments what you think of this idea and which of my pictures you would like to see turned into a T-Shirt! Here are the links to the individual shirts: Lego Batman Animated Series Lego Batman Beyond Lego Batman Arkham City
  23. It depends on how you interpret "Wolverine's nemesis". If you're talking about Wolverine on his own, then yes, it would be Sabertooth, but if you're talking about Wolverine and the X-Men in general, it would be Magneto. Since this game is fairly mainstream, I think the latter is the case, and we already know that Magneto is in the game, so that's who he must be referring to.
  24. Cool, thanks, but they don't actually name Sabertooth, so I'm pretty sure they are referring to Magneto.
  25. America! F@#k Yeah!
