  1. Great build! I like the use of SNOT and the greebling on the bar. It didn't even look like Lego at first glance, more like one of those action figure playsets, and it makes me want to play out the scenes from the movie with it. Well done.
  2. Lets hope not! Me too, so here is another contribution: Tanned Droids by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr Stolen Legs by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr Look-alikes by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr
  3. I must say I'm impressed with this set. It's very big, accurate, and relatively detailed. Sure, it looks a bit bland, but it's as detailed as a cartoon house gets and I'm sure that the interior will look much more interesting which I am curious to see. Still, I have no interest in buying it, and I am very glad that all of the odd-looking "relaxed" variations come with this set like just2good predicted since that means that the regular versions with (hopefully) open eyes will come in the CMF series. With his leg and arm printing, Bart is my favorite out of these figs so far.
  4. Welcome to the thread! Sorry to tell you this, but sadly that series (like many other cartoons lately) was cancelled before the first season even ended, so don't hold your breath. Luckily, TMNT is confirmed for at least 3 seasons! It seems like Nickelodeon is the only smart network when it comes to cartoons at the moment. That makes sense. I thought that gems are part of the same system, with gems being more valuable and therefore being used for larger purchases like in some videogames, or like how we use bills instead of coins, but your theory certainly seems possible too. And I agree, while it would have been nice to see a reference to AJ's past in Manehattan, it wasn't needed. I liked the episode too. Not quite as good as Sweet & Elite, but definitely one of the best this season! Although I kinda felt like they beat you over the head with the lesson a little, the story was very good, so I'm okay with it.
  5. Could you post a picture of what you have so far? We can't really build the mod for you and it's hard to give you pointers without seeing what your mod looks like. One thing I can suggest is to take a look at the design of the Batmobile from 7781, which was loosely based on the Burton Batmobile, and at other peoples' MOCs and mods.
  6. I see your point. Sorry if I misunderstood what you meant to say, but regardless of the emoticons your initial post was still quite insulting towards anyone who voted this set anything above "below average" which includes my vote. Perhaps if you would have just said why this set is below average in your opinion instead of coming in here and basically saying "this set and your opinions suck" we wouldn't have taken it the wrong way.
  7. No, you obviously don't, and yes it does. Just because an opinion is different than yours doesn't mean it's "wrong", so please stop trolling.
  8. I don't see any problem with these designs so far. The silhouettes look pretty much how they always do, except Knuckles looks a bit taller. But these are just shadows on a teaser picture, so I wouldn't judge it before we see some actual footage from the show. It is indeed confusing. When they made the 10th Anniversary special a few years back, they animated it in Flash and it was a very acceptable update of the animation as it still looked like the original show. This on the other hand looks like something else entirely. Why didn't they just stick to the Flash animation? The fact that the creator was not involved in the production is not giving me much hope either. I will still watch it, but the animation is going to be distracting. OK, maybe I was thinking of late 90's games, whatever. What I meant is that the 3D models look very low-poly like they were back in those games. Everything looks very straight and pointy, giving it that paper cut-out look. Things that should be round are now made out of jagged lines, such as the girls' hair and the bottle of Chemical X. They even did it on the hearts in the ending title screen. The shading also looks off as it is just a straight vertical line on the characters. This really ruins the soft, dynamic art style of the original cartoon and makes it look flat and surreal. Art style aside, I was never a fan of cell-shading anyway. You can always tell that it is 3D animation that they are trying to pass off as 2D animation, but it usually doesn't work. Wind Waker is one of the few times where this technique was utilized effectively. I think this animation might have worked for the Powerpuff Girls if they wouldn't have used that new style with mostly straight lines. I just don't get why they had to change the look so much, but I guess it could be worse.
  9. Same here. I'm glad I wasn't the only one who didn't like the song too much. I think AJ should stick to country songs. Yes, the A:TLA comics are great. I posted my thoughts on the first issue of The Search in the Which Comic Do You Read thread. I received Part 3 for Xmas as well, but haven't read it yet. You should definitely check out The Promise as well as it explains the founding of Republic City. Can't wait for the next story arc! Interesting. I'll keep an eye out for that, thanks. By the way, what do you guys think of this? I don't mind seeing more Powerpuff Girls, but the new CG animation just looks terrible. It looks like cutscenes from an early 90's videogame.
  10. It's been surprisingly quiet in here lately, so here are my thoughts on season 4 so far: Oh, and has anyone been watching the new [as] series Rick & Morty? I find myself liking it quite a bit. It's like Adventure Time crossed with Back to the Future and every other sci-fi movie ever made. It's not the greatest show ever or anything, but pretty entertaining for a sci-fi fan like me.
  11. Haha, good ones, guys! I think that Hulk one would have been even funnier if Hulk was holding Santa upside down and trying to shake more presents out of him. 12. Here's a quick last minute entry. It's not much, but it's supposed to be simple. Zane builds a snowman as a tribute to his sensei. Because that's what Christmas is all about, showing your love and respect for others. Snow Wu by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr Thanks to Peppermint_M for this fun raffle. Happy holidays!
  13. I actually thought of that pun as soon as I heard we are getting a "Maul Santa" in that advent calendar, but forgot to make a funny about it. I guess you beat me to it. Nicely done. Anyway, here are some from me: A Walk to Endor by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr The Abominable Wampa by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr Darth Toad by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr
  14. Agreed. Why would she? April turned out just fine, so I think they'll do a good job with Karai too as long as they don't go crazy with her makeup. What I want to know is what hairpiece they'll use for her. Perhaps Nya's or a new one? And yeah, I'm most likely getting that set too, no matter how it turns out.
  15. No, only Spike/Slash wore new gear in that episode. By the way, with all this new gear, it's a little disappointing that they still don't have their elbow guards, especially since some of the Simpsons figs are getting all-around arm printing, but that's just a nitpick.
  16. Booyakasha! These sets look great! The T-Sub is excellent, and so are the new variations of the Turtles! Finally a serious Mikey! And hooray for Leatherhead! Not so crazy about Spider Bytez since he was my least favorite villain in the show. I was hoping for Mutagen Man, but I guess Spider Bytez was inevitable after the introduction of the Chima spider legs. Can't wait to see the rest! And how are you so sure of that last part? As others have said, this didn't stop other toy companies from releasing the Turtles in gear like this, and TLG has been drawing a lot of inspiration from other merchandise in other themes like Spongebob and Super Heroes, so why not TMNT? The catalog says that the sets are based on the TV show, so we'll have to take their word for it, even if the minifig variations are only loosely based on it.
  17. Thanks guys! Yours are good too, Wall E2624! Here's a new batch: Mandarin Juice by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr Crude DeLorean by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr Aunt Mai by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr
  18. Agreed. I don't see why you would want there to be more advertisement for SW sets and they really don't need it. It's friggin' Star Wars! Even without any new movies, shows, or games out to generate interest, it's still one of the most popular toy lines out there. And yes, Lego never does much of a marketing push unless it's for their own themes which need it to get popular. With licensed themes like SW, the demand is already there and there are online shops that do the HD picture leaking for them, so they don't even have to try. Besides, what's wrong with The Lego Movie? Hype is overrated anyway (yes, I realize how paradoxical that sounds, but it's true).
  19. Glad to hear! I see what you were going for there. Perhaps you should have given him a yellow body and orange hair since the Mask never wore his hat in that sequel if I remember correctly. Nicely done, even though I already made that joke. Here are some new ones: Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when the Extremis soldiers attacked. 20. I don't think that the Lego Movie in the Lego universe would be about toys, but about minifigures themselves. It is an interesting thought, but way too meta for me. Go for it! I'm sure it would be an interesting read just like your other lore threads! As for the posters, you can see them nicely on the sticker sheet:
  21. Hm, the head size on these looks better somehow, maybe because Lisa is a child and Marge's head is supposed to be tall. However, I do agree that their facial expressions are quite odd. Looks like Marge is another "variation print" version since she seems to be wearing some kind of apron. This is another variation that would make sense in the Simpsons home set, so I hope that's where this version of her will be in. If these apron and tie wearing versions turn out to be the ones in the CMFs, I just might skip this theme all together.
  22. Not necessarily. The danish newspaper article that we got back in August said that according to Lego's marketing director, the Simpsons will only be a small launch with possible higher production later on if the line is well-received, so one set and one CMF series is probably all we are going to get, not just in the European market, but in general, at least for now.
  23. Well, this Homer fig doesn't look too bad. I have to admit that the wide collar print helps to integrate the giant head with the body more, but I still think the head is bigger than it needs to be. The short sleeves are certainly a nice touch and should get a lot more people to buy these figs, even if for those pieces alone. I'm guessing we will get red and lavender short sleeves with Bart and Krusty as well. Any other potential color variations? No, that just means that there is no need to make them even larger. As they are now, the head to body ratio is just way off, even more so than in the show. Good one. I hope you are right. I'm not planning to buy the house and (like many others) would prefer to get the normal Homer in the CMFs. I could certainly see Ned being included in the house set, especially if it comes with a grill, and while this version of Homer would be odd if it was included in the house, it wouldn't be completely illogical either. Then again, it would seem more like TLG to include these special variations in the CMFs to make you buy the large set in order to get the regular versions of those characters like they did with the Lego Movie sets. We'll have to wait and see I guess. I bet they are made in China. Usually when minifigs have such all-around printing like on the arms here they come from China, and the torso in those pictures looks like the same cheap plastic as those other Chinese parts. So I don't think the fact whether the parts are made in China or not is going to tell us if these are the figs from the CMFs or not. If that guy was telling the truth, maybe his friend saw the minifigures and made set speculations based on those which then turned into rumors. That would explain why there is a "Homer at the Control Panel" set rumor since there is a Homer in work clothes minifig. After all, there were exactly 16 unique characters in that rumor list, so they could be the ones from the CMFs, but then again, several of the characters that Nerdly claimed would be in the CMFs are missing from that list, so it could just be coincidence. But yeah, that set list always sounded fake to me.
  24. Yes, I'd say so. I don't see anything, but I think I know which gun you are talking about. It is this one from the Crystal Skull sets, and on closer inspection, I think that is the gun in the picture snoozle posted as well. My mistake, however I still think the Batman gun is closest to the gun in the reference picture due to the shorter barrel.
  25. Welcome to EB! That gun is from the old Batman sets and has only been produced in black. Here's the bricklink entry for it.
